Handbook of Applied Dog Behavior and Training, Etiology and Assessment of Behavior Problems: 2 : Lindsay, Steve: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: Another Book that I shall read. - This book has a pretty cover too, although it is a blue cover unlike the previous book I purchased which had a green cover. This book also has several pages with lots of writing on them. Review: Dog Behaviourist's Bible - I have used all three volumes of this book several times on my animal behavioural science degree (borrwed from university library), if you are doing a degree in animal behaviour or a related subject i would highly recommend this book, i haven't found anything else that really compares or is at the same standard while being as easy to use. Its scientific enough for use on a degree but it is still easy to understand (for me - this book would be a too heavy for a casual dog owner looking to sort out a small behaviour problem as this has all the science behind it as well, and you probably will need a scientific background to understand some of it) So these books are not for everyone as it isnt a 'light read' but if you are looking for something scientific without it being a load of jargon that you can't understand then these are the books to get. They are expensive, but are an investment if you want to go into dog behaviour for a career, as i do. They are so good that i have bought all three volumes so i have copies at home to save me from taking them out the library all the time! Volume 1 is about how dogs learn (which casual owners would not really need to buy or use) but volumes 2 and 3 are about the cause and solution for solving behaviour problems, so you could get away with just getting volumes 2 and 3 if you are worried about buying all three them being too expensive if you are just looking into problem dog behaviour.

Good for someone serious about dog behaviour
The Lindsay series are essential for anyone serious about understanding dog behaviour and training. However he does have a rather academic style of writing, and this is not an accessible or light read - more a reference book for courses.

I'm studying for the CDBC and starting my Masters of Science in Animal Behavior & Welfare. This book trio is a must for any serious behavior student.

These are science-based textbooks, not written for the average pet owner or layman. However, if you're a student of behavior these are an absolutely required series of reference books.

The book arrived in perfect condition. The price for this book regardless of seller is outrageous. As a professional dog training, I can't justify the price for this particular book. I have several other books by James Oheare, pat Miller Dr Ian Dunbar, Dr Jean Donaldson are far better in animal behavioral information and price is way more reasonable
