This kept the neighborhood cats alive in the cold dips this winter. I stuffed it around my wood pile, and I have a cover on my wood pile and they would gather inside and be warm from the straw. It was very easy to use. I found no problem with the quality or a moisture level. It is expensive, but I’m the kind of person that just can’t let cats be out in the cold.

This wheat straw works well at covering seeded land, protecting my investment from hungry birds and helping the soil remain moist. Though easy to use, having a second person water quickly before and after placement definitely made things easier in my windy conditions. It seemed like a bit of money at first, but considering all the time and costs to prep, seed/plant, water, fertilize, supplement, etc… I decided it was an important purchase to protect my investments! Only wish I had bought MORE! Ended up expanding the area that I’d planned on covering. Purchased a similar straw with tacky substrate to use on that area. The local straw cost much less. Guess what? The local straw DID much less! The local straw blew off in the night and that ground looked bare. Lesson learned!! The tacky substrate in this worked great! The larger/longer size was effective with both tack and weight helping it stay put despite high winds. This is giving the sprouting process an advantage and a I’m thrilled. Will be using this versatile product more frequently!

I bought the kitty tube wheat straw 8 months ago and this time I mistakenly ordering this brand. I got a whole lot more with the kitty tube brand-4 times as much! I rated this wheat straw a 4 because it is a very good quality, but there's just not much of it! When this wheat straw was delivered I was very disappointed because it wasn't even a fourth of what I got with my last kitty tube brand order. Fortunately, it was enough to cover the bottom of the kitty tube about three inches thick and with this hot weather suddenly upon us it's just enough to make my two feral cats comfortable. So, I kept it. When summer is nearing end, however, I'm going back to the kitty tube brand, which is plenty of straw to change every two months for 8 months. I have to admit though this wheat straw is very clean looking. High quality but there's just not much of it!

This item is ideal for my grass patching projects. I used just a fraction of it to cover a 36” circle of new grass seed. It is so easy to use and store. I have more than enough for several other patches. Totally satisfied.

Good straw, I used it for my feral cat shelter.

I feed some cats in the parking lot who don't want to use the winter shelter I bought for them, and this was my solution: I put the straw between the large roots of a tree where they spend their days, and it works very well.
