It has a base, which is actually what plugs in, making it easy to pour without worrying about pulling on the cord. Its fill lid is plenty large to get your hands into, so it is going to be easy to clean and it has an analog temp gauge, so you can see the water temp. it also has a clear window down the side, so you can see if the kettle needs filling. It is heavy enough that it doesn’t feel cheap, but not so heavy you’re gonna dread using it, although it could be rather heavy for some if completely full.
