Pleased with purchase
I bought this for my mother in law who was staying with us while she recovered from a heart procedure. Once instructed how to use, she can do this herself. She's 92! She was a bit confused bc she has to hold the doctor's unit up to her heart. You dont have to do that with this unit. We found by placing a folded bath on my sofas armrest and laying her arm on the towel, it was just enough lift to align her arm with her heart. The digital read out helps you find the right spot by showing up or down arrows. The Memory button is great bc it provides an average reading of the last 3. The directions could be clearer tho. My MIL got a few super high readings, likely bc she didn't have the cuff on properly. This scared her. I would make her take the entire thing off and put on again and try again. The directions should note that as to not terrify older patients

Follow instructions & seems reasonably accurate
We all read reviews and do our best to make the right choice. This seemed the better choice. Bottomline - glad I bought it and here's why... It's helpful that there is wrist placement guiding to help make the most accurate reading. My SO is on BP meds - I am not and our readings were pretty on point for our usual readings. ADVICE - Don't move, don't talk, correct body positioning ... and placement on wrist is ALL VERY IMPORTANT. One review had pics of the device on the back of the wrist and couldn't get a good reading and so gave a bad review ... for user error! ... Strap is plenty long (my wrist over 7 but not quite 7.5) and there's room even on my SO's wrist which is large (6 ft 230lb) Device is pretty light for size (my older model was a little smaller square, a lot fatter thickness but heavier weight. This feels like it sits better/flatter on my wrist, which I think helps accuracy too. The device even puts up symbols if you get out of position but it will still give a reading ... so a bad reading could happen. (I'm going to look back at reviews and look for the signs) So my only "be aware" so far .... there's no backlight (I prefer accuracy, I can find a light source if needed but some may want convenience for reading in the dark) ..... I kind of wish there was a quick reference sticker that I could place inside carry case (I'll just make one for what I might need) .... I wish the "Irregular Heartbeat" symbol was a bit more prominent. My SO has afib so we know it's there and it took a bit to find the symbol because it's a small box and almost unnoticeable in its location.

A little touchy
In fairness, this old guy uses 3 different meters. This wrist meter has consistently lower measurements than the other 2 and/or the Doctors manual measurer. However, not enough to worry about. And, it does demand a perfect arm placement (height and, angle). These are not detrimental to the instrument but, makes one wonder what a true reading is. Great price though. Big name manufacturer.

Replacement item
Order this product to replace my arm blood pressure equipment due to easier use. Price was right. have used a couple times since receiving. The number is easy to read on the display and I liked the memory storage to keep track of my blood pressure readings

Shuts off, not accurate
This is a decent machine for home use. But it is not always accurate. It is sometimes temperamental and shuts off. Not sure why. Can be frustrating because you have to keep trying and retrying over and over before it will finally give a reading. Then the reading isn't always very accurate. But it is decent enough to get an idea of what the bp is. Would choose a different one next time.

What I really needed!
My sister encouraged me to start tracking my blood pressure because she had a problem. She recommended this unit & I am extremely happy with it. Easy to use, read & understand. Unit does come with a very nice storage case, excellent size for travel. But I did find a small storage bag @ Target for it & a small journal that came with it's own pen for tracking purposes. Would definitely recommend if you're older & want to track your blood pressure :)

STOPPED WORKING AFTER A MONTH!!
When first received it found it takes an extremely long time to obtain a reading way worse than one of same brand Iโd used in past. I initiated a return for that reason and had ordered a different BP cuff to try and was waiting to take this item to return until the new one arrived because I need a BP cuff for my job and didnโt want to be without one. However the new one I ordered was lost by Amazon, so Iโve now missed the return window for this item due to Amazon losing my package. Now this item wonโt even turn on even with new batteries. I have kept it in itโs case when not attempting to use so has been well protected. Iโm very disappointed in this item as Iโve now wasted my money on a defective item that isnโt even able to be returned due to Amazon losing my past package. When it did function it appeared to have accurate readings compared to an upper arm cuff but it now doesnโt work at all only a month after getting it, so money down the drain. I thought Homedics was a good brand but apparently itโs not. Definitely will NOT buy a Homedics blood pressure monitor again!

An okay machine. Needs better software.
Too temperamental with 3d wrist mapping on; disable it, keep your fist clenched, and it'll read your BP without giving an error code. Diastolic is very accurate, but systolic is 10pts off, +/-, when compared to my older machine with the upper arm cuff. HR is also very accurate when compared to manual measurement. Not a bad monitor for those willing to find the quirks and adjust the settings. Also, be sure to be seated upright, feet planted on the floor, for at least 5mins before measuring, and have your left arm at heart level with your palm up...which you should be doing with ALL BP machines.

the wrist method is not working for me
I did all i was instructed to do and the readings were incorrect. This machine said my blood pressure was 200... 2xs So i drove to the drug store and tested my BP it was 168. the wrist method is not working for me. I have very small wrists. I sent it back.
