Never going back 🙏🏽
Absolutely stunning. Was thinking for a while on which one to buy, but as I've never had one before I thought I'd go with the cheapest to see how it goes. It's in black and white which is absolutely fine, I don't need colour to read the pages, it's tiny, smaller than expected but super light to hold and im glad it's so small! I've read 5 books now in less than a month and had the ad free version. You can see which books are kindle unlimited and even the kindle books are ALOT cheaper than buying an actual book. I was worried I had too many books and where to put them all! But I can read as many as I want without taking up the space. You can borrow only a certain amount of books at one time, but that's ok as why would I want more than 20 borrowed anyway? I can only read one at a time. You can buy alot of accessories for them too online, handles, popsockets, cases etc... I've chosen to decorate mine. It can be individual. There is no glare AT all when reading in the sunshine (even on the lowest brightness setting) and the battery lasts for ages! ( I automatically set mine in settings to lock after 5 minutes of no use) I can read on my side when in bed and when going away, you don't need to take 8 books with you, you can just take this kindle and have 8 books downloaded, ideal for frequent holidayers! I went for the 16gb as I wasn't sure how much space id use, and I'd say it's perfect for me. The colour is gorgeous and there's so much information you can see from each book. It also gives you suggestions on what books to read based on what you've read. I've now linked to Goodreads so I can find books Id like to read once I've finished. The best thing I've ever bought being a book reader, take it everywhere with me. I looked at YouTube videos to find which one would be best for me and there's lotss of tip and tricks that you can get from your kindle. 100% worth the purchase and I'm sad I hadn't bought one sooner. Never going back 🙏🏽 size comparison to a cola can 😬

GREAT UPGRADE FROM MY LAST KINDLE
This is my third Kindle and thought I needed to upgrade as the last one was 6th generation. This one is slightly smaller than my last one but is perfect. It is light to hold and much quicker than my previous kindle. The pages turn in an instant. It was easy to set up and link to my prime account. What I did notice was that the front cover of the book I am reading appears for a few seconds before progressing to the last page read. I like this idea. But I wrote to Amazon years ago suggesting this would be a good idea as when you asked Kindle readers what they were reading they often could not remember and had to go into the book and search for the title (with a book you see the title all the time when you pick it up). My response from Amazon at that time was that it was not possible to do this - just thinking that someone at Amazon stole my idea and suggestion and probably got a nice bonus for this innovation.

I like to smell books
I love books. Actual, physical books that you can hold and smell. I love to smell books. I own hundreds of books, maybe even thousands. So I did not know how I would get on with a kindle but the convenience of being able to store so many books on it and in such a compact size appealed for work and travel. I've had it for just over a month now and I LOVE it!!! The battery life is fantastic, I read a lot and I have not yet had to charge it. I really like the screen and being able to read in low light conditions without putting a light on. I like how small, thin and lightweight it is. I can hold it in one hand. I like how it works, saving where I am in the book I am reading - ready for when I next pick it up. I like being able to look up the definition of words quickly and easily. It's a marvellous thing, and I am so pleased I bought it 😊

Some Kindle device quirks, however works as needed,
Purchased the Matcha green Amazon kindle no adverts after the app on phone stopped allowing new reads to download. ordered the bundle of kindle 9w socket. it came with a standard usb to usbc lead added a screen protector and fabric green cover accessories. see pictures font open dyslexic bold 1 size 10 This is my first proper kindle device having used the phone with the old kindle app, this is my thoughts the plus points + love the mint green matcha colour, + the screen size is bigger than phone was using + 👍this kindle can connect to blue tooth headphones so can close eyes and carry on reading. the touch screen works however not like a phone. + light and comfortable to hold with cover on as it magnet to back, so far not dropped + found easy move reading page to next page with touch screen. + 👍👍the writing font size can be enlarged and font style changed, + page orientation can be changed from book to landscape and set as theme, however if use the voice to text bluetooth feature it goes back to book orientation, + Battery have charged twice since device arrived with the cable and extra bundle 9w plug. with screen on dark mode low backlight aeroplane for wifi stoppage, + have read 8 books on device currently at 66% and dropping as use device, about to read 9th book, found the voice to text drops battery faster. the first charge seemed to take quite some time, the second was quicker from 4% to 100%. +👍👍 voice to text reads book bluetooth direct to ears can carry on regardless + screen protector recommended at basket added out box to screen makes finger prints easier to clean, no finger prints on green surround the minus point for this newbie to kindle device - 👎was the set up from opening box, although was set up at amazon with account link feature, it refused to talk with amazon main site, hence a change of password, then had to delete the 2nd security feature one time passcode on computer to relaunch that setting before finally the kindle would talk to amazon to allow in, could only work with the phone wifi hotspot so cost me a £6 for data wifi hotspot, set up and all efforts even the lack of talking to Amazon! am thankfully its only once. if had to do each time wanted to use Kindle would be a -⭐ product. ÷ had expected the books to be downloaded in already, however it was just the front covers in library, had to go on computer to amazon content and manually ask to send across, so not a situation expected. +👍 am thankful there is a kindle help section in Amazon where can watch a video. ÷ Having loaded many books in it seems to have deleted the content of some and left the library picture! so will need to reload again when needed. ! the screen set to dark mode found the screen flashes quickly white after a certain amount of page turns, anything between 12, 19, 22, page turns 🤷♀️on voice to text setting with writing on screen 2nd from largest font the lady reads, the page somehow flashes and the lady repeats and a page is missed we end up on next page previous un spoken, have lessened the writing font size to help stop this quirk. even though can set font size in reading page, the menu writing is small, got round this by taking photo on phone and enlarging. ÷ have mentioned the touch screen is not like a phone and the difference is the kindle seems to think about what asking to do, whether it be a book mark or the centre top to access bluetooth or any other settings like font, its quirky 🤷♀️bookmark if add and close the cover when open it chooses which page shows, so far its not the page bookmarked last, to solve this quirk have had to go into book mark top right and add current place then manually delete past page by pressing plus previous page book mark before closing cover, so opens on most recent, this is not something had to do in the old kindle app on phone. this Kindle is quirky it works differently to what was use to in old kindle app on phone, the kindle first talking to amazon was a negative experience till worked out needed to have computer on and change log in settings however its worked right since offline. 👍love its ability for voice to text, its something used on phone accessibility, there are different screen movements so worth viewing the tutorial, this voice is smoother have sped her up in settings. 🍾all in all have worked it out this Kindles kinks and quirks workarounds, its easier to read than paper books because of the font style and font enlargement feature, and fits in bag easier and lighter than several novels, so keeping👍

Love the new size and colour
Love the green colour and the new size. I purchased this after receiving an email saying my 2013 Kindle was no longer being supported. Whilst this model had the same size screen, the boarders are smaller, making it lighter to hold and transport either in a pocket or handbag. Love it!

Third time lucky
I purchased this Match Kindle Basic after less-than-ideal experiences with the 12th Generation Paperwhite Signature Addition & the new Colorsoft, because they both had the yellowing along the bottom of the screen that seemed to get gradually worse, so I ended up returning them both & buying this device in their place. For starters this version does not have the warm light settings, meaning the screen cannot develop the yellowing, & that is the main reason I chose to go for a Basic, rather than waiting for the perfect Paperwhite 12th Generation or Colorsoft to be delivered to my door. I am very pleased with this little basic - the screen is smaller (6" rather than 7") but it is so much more crisp; I wanted the Colorsoft for the covers of my books & for the images in my aviation books, but aside from the yellowing of the screen, I felt that the images were not clear, so when this little beauty arrived I expected to be a bit disappointed with the pictures because they are black & white, but I have been very impressed thus far. As you can see from the photos, the images are clear & crisp ... I read a lot of aviation books so the covers are predominantly blue, grey, brown, white, silver & black, but so far I have been able to make out the covers due to the excellent quality of the screen. I was initially a bit worried about the storage, as I do like to buy the titles rather than borrow them from Kindle Unlimited, but I have 334 titles on my device & there is still plenty of room - I have also got KU now as it was part of my package when buying this Kindle Basic. I have been using it every day, for extended periods & the battery life is pretty good, possibly not as good as they advertise, but I never only read for 30 minutes a day; I had it Bluetoothing to my AirPods for about 4 hours on Sunday as I was listening to an Audible title, so technically I'm not using it as their test model prescribes, so it's not a surprise my battery is not lasting very long. I charged it to 100% on the 8th of January (the day it arrived) & I'm averaging around 2-3 hours reading (brightness between 6 & 14 depending on the ambient lighting) & I've also listened to Audible via Bluetooth for around 6 hours & the battery is now down to 33% ... it's not too shabby, I can live with it. I love the Matcha colour, I also like that the device is slightly textured, not smooth & ultra slippy in my hands - I put a case on it when I took it out of the box though; I like the size - it is not too bulky or so small, it's a good size & weight to hold in one hand; the screen is anti-glare so I have not put a screen protector on it, as I don't feel it needs one. I've been a Kindle user for many years, so I can honestly say that this version is an upgrade - before my recent escapades with the new Paperwhite & Colorsoft I had the PW Signature Addition 3rd or 4th Generation (I can't remember exactly which one) but sadly I lost that on holiday in July 2024, hence my need to replace it ... will I buy the new Paperwhite or Colorsoft when they fix the bugs, probably not, I don't see the need for spending that much money when my little Matcha Basic cost me less than £100 & I like it very much.
