Cake Chic: Stylish Cookies and Cakes for All Occasions Hardcover – Illustrated, 17 July 2009

I was delighted when this book was published. As a keen cookie and cupcake maker I often use Peggy Porschen's ideas for my own creations. Although I wish that sometimes my results turn out as perfect as hers!!! I thought the ideas conjured up in this book are stylish and pretty, ideal for presents or for those who just love baking. I wouldn't recommend this book for a beginner but for someone who is more confident with icing techniques. I was pleased to see that the instructions for each project were more detailed than those from the last two books (I found them quite tricky to follow). I also liked the book visually, stunning photography with lovely colour schemes that has been well put together. I'm already looking forward to the next book!

Peggy Porschen creates the most beautiful and imaginative cakes and cookies. Her style is unique and instantly recognisable. This book showcases more of her wonderful work, with clear and precise instructions and plenty of step by step photographs. I was a little disappointed that the recipes are just the same ones she uses in her Romatic Cakes book - but if that's all she uses, I shouldn't complain. After all, it's the designs we all want to be able to recreate! Also,her cookie recipe is the ONLY one I ever use now, because they really are gorgeous and foolproof - perfection every time!

This book is beautiful to look at and and easy to follow. It's inspired me and my 14 year old stepdaughter to try a number of the recipes and they all turned out well. The only criticism is that it's not too different from other Peggy Porschen books. You really are wasting money buying more then one as I did as large part of the books are generic to all her books. Having said that they're lovely to flick through for inspiration.

I love Peggy porschen's books they are so trendy and different, great for ideas and easy to follow, some of the designs are simple but exquisite which is what you need from a sugarcraft book, the fancies are fab, so nice to see fresh ideas after so many years of frumpy authors like Karen Davies!!! You can look throught hsi book over and over and never get bored with it.

I bought Peggy's book Boutique so I wanted to see what her other books where like. I made her Victoria sponge which was lovely. It's good if you like fondant fancies and she gives you a few tips at the back and pictures to show I.e with royal icing it also gives you different flavours of sugar syrups to make for the cakes:).

Ordered this book as I love Peggy's style of cakes and although I can look on the internet at her lovely cakes, I also wanted a book so i could learn her techniques. Prompt delivery, no problems and a good example of a used version.

I bought this as a gift for my friend who was starting her own cake business. She loved it and said it gave her some great ideas and hints on how to make different decorations. I have a flick through and would have to comment that this isnt for an amateur. I would certainly struggle with some of the things in there. If however you like a nice book to inspire you or improve your skills then this could be for you.

In den Kategorien "Cookies, Mini Cakes, Large Cakes und Basics" stellt die deutschstämmige Konditorin tolle Rezepte vor. Dank der bebilderten (zauberhafte Aufnahmen von Georgia Glynn Smith) Step-by-step-Anleitungen und wirklich einfachen Anweisungen ist das Buch auch durchaus für Menschen geeignet, die Englisch nicht allzu gut beherrschen. Die Rezepte sind relativ leicht nachzumachen und mit unglaublich schönen und kreativen Verzierungen versehen. 100%ig empfehlenswert für alle Ästheten, Kreativen, Hobby-Konditoren und solche, die es werden wollen.

De los mejores libros que he comprado de decoración de tartas, es genial! Tiene buenas recetas, trucos, y, templetes! Lo recomiendo también por el buen precio.

This book is also called Simply Specular Cakes - same exact book - i was disappointed that i was fooled into ordering the same exact book with a diffent name.

Après avoir "feuilleté" quelques extraits de plusieurs livres, je me suis décidée pour celui-ci. Je viens de le recevoir et il est tout simplement sublime ! J'ai un véritable coup de coeur pour cet ouvrage. La qualité de la présentation (photos, écritures...) y est pour beaucoup, sans parler des magnifiques gâteaux qui sont expliqués ici. Rien qu'à feuilleter, ce livre est véritablement magnifique... Si vous aimez les sublimes gâteaux, cookies décorés et autres mini-cakes, ce livre est fait pour vous et vous n'aurez aucun regret.

写真を眺めているだけでも、買う価値はあります。　作り方は丁寧に説明してあるし、少しお菓子を作る人なら、すぐに使えるテクニックも満載です。　シュガークラフトが多用されているので、初心者には材料をそろえるのが面倒かもしれません。　とにかくお菓子かわいいです。　とてもセンスのある一冊です。
