Review: Works and fits for the 5th Gen 4runner - I bought this a year ago and finally got around to installing it (3/28/25).....it came nicely packed and everything was there. I installed in my 2018 4runner because I was concerned about high temps coming from my transmission....this is mostly due to me off- roading at times. The fan blows VERY strong....and is quiet, which is nice. I would definitely recommend this. One thing to note is that you may have to reverse wires because initially, the blue wire is for positive but the fan pulls the air AWAY FROM the cooler. However, if you connect the blue wire to negative and the black wire to positive then you will have air flowing into the cooler (I know, its fkn confusing). No need to worry about things burning down because I contacted mishimoto and they confirmed (2 different representatives on 2 separate calls) that they designed it this way. Its up to the customer to decide which way they want the air to flow. This thing is nice and now I have peace of mind when I hit trails, or rock crawl or head up hills. Fan is loud but that what you would expect from and high output fan. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Dropped transmission temp by 10 degrees. *by S***N on October 28, 2020* We had a Hummer H2 truck with a transmission that insisted on overheating both in hot weather and while pulling a trailer. Had this transmission radiator & fan combo installed in-line, not parallel, per recommendation of a transmission specialist. Given the H2 doesn't provide room to mount in front of the main radiator, we had to mount it on the frame below and two one side. Even though the location is less than ideal, the fan helps overcome that limitation. The average temp dropped by about 10 degrees. If you can mount it in a better position, you'll likely get even better performance. Our mechanic said the product appears to be good quality. As other reviewers have noted, the fan is fairly noisy, but not enough to be a problem.
