The media could not be loaded. When I ordered this I wasn't quite sure how cheap or nice the puzzles were actually going to be. When the package arrived it was a rather large advent calendar box so I was hopeful. (see photo 1 & 2). The only negative thing about this entire advent calendar was that they stuck the sticker right on the cardboard box and it took me a long time to remove it without tearing the box or leaving a bunch of stick residue (see photos 3 & 4). On the outside of the box are all the perforation windows. They looked great and all of mine were intact (see photo 5). However, the best part was once I opened the side of the box to look at the items, they all look fantastic. (see photo 6). It's a good idea to open box, slide out the tray and look at the items before you gift this to make sure none of the items shifted a little and need to be put back in their respective holes in order to line up with the perforated windows on the calendar. All mine were lined up perfectly. All the puzzles whether wood or metal looked fantastic. They look well made, robust, and interesting to try to solve. They all come separately packaged so no pieces go missing. The patina on the metal and the color of the wood all look really nice and high end. They have some good weight to them so the don't look or feel cheap (See photos 7 thru 14). It seems like they will hold up to rigorous twisting and pulling as the recipient tries to solve the puzzles. Once you make sure the items are all in their respective places in the tray, you simply slide the tray back in the box, tape up the edges and it is ready to gift (See photo 15 & 16) I am really pleased with this order. The box is nice and sturdy as well. It has a sweet Christmas image and the perforations look intact. People might say that it is a negative that upon arrival it is very simple to slide the tray with the puzzles on it out of the box and look at them all. However, this was helpful to me because it allows me to review this item in a timely manner and not have to wait until Dec 1st when the perforated windows are supposed to be opened. By being able to slide the tray out, I could let other potential buyers know the nice quality of this product before they buy it. Plus it allowed me to confirm that it was worth gifting and that the puzzles were nice. With that said all I did was tape up the edges of the box so they could not be opened after I looked at it, and the recipient will have to open each perforated window the proper way to see what goodies are inside. I am really happy with the quality of the puzzles included in this advent calendar. Each day the recipient can challenge themselves to new brain teaser puzzle. This advent calendar is so much better then any of the ones with little plastic figures that are exciting and surprising when opened, but that quickly become waste. It's also much healthier then daily candy during a holiday season where there is a lot of food and goodies already. So, I am very pleased with this order and I do recommend it to others. Just remember to open it and put tape on the sides of the box before gifting it so that the recipient can't cheat and see all of the items early.

This is a great advent calendar with metal and wood brain teaser puzzles. As you can see I did take a peak.I do like that the dates are not in order, it’s silly but I like having to hunt for the next door.I did find that some of the puzzles had fallen out of their little pockets that align with the dates. I would suggest opening the box to ensure they are all in their places. I guess that’s okay because it’s the function of the puzzle that’s the treat - not necessarily the surprise of seeing it so if a person has to slide out the tray to reorganize the puzzles that doesn’t feel too much of a detraction.Trying to decide a 4* or 5* … It’s a 4 1/2* that rounds up to 5*. The 1/2* knock is that the puzzles could become misaligned, that may not be an issue for everyone - I am in rural Alaska so there’s a LOT of travel involved to receive our deliveries.

Our kids are conditioned to expect advent calendars over the years and now it has almost become a chore. As most of these calendars contain the same plastic junk that encourages waste while providing terrible value and no enjoyment beyond the initial surprise of opening the door to see what you get. These puzzles offer a great alternative. I loved brain teasers like this when I was a kid and it's been fun to see my kids appreciate them as well. Some of the puzzles are easier than others, but they are all well constructed and keep the kids thinking and engaged. They also like to challenge their friends with them. Much better than having another 24 tiny plastic figurines or more plastic building blocks that are a terrible value for what you get. The box is very no frills but also doesn't give away any spoilers to what is contained inside which is kind of nice. The value is great for what you get as well..

I got this advent calendar for my BF because we both like brain teasers and challenges. Pulled a few of these out. The metal and wood are both very solid and good quality. The few puzzles we did were fun. I am excited about the big one at the end. We hope little man will enjoy them too. What I like too about advent calendars like that is that even after you open the countdown day it something you can still enjoy with your family. I plan to put these out in my family room to keep them accessible for anyone who comes and visits. The price at 23.99 is good for all you are getting. I really like this over the other kind of advent calendars that usually just have a little piece of candy or something. This has a bunch of puzzles that can be used over and over again. I was going to keep this for myself, but my daughter liked it so much that she is taking it.

This is an advent calendar for all ages that like brain teasers. There are 24 different brain teasers to work your way through during the holidays. Get it for your self or gift to someone who likes to solve a puzzle.

We purchased this for the upcoming holiday season. We’re always looking for creative options to make this a fun time without overloading on candy, so this is a great option. Brain teasers rather than sweets!
