Just press the white button located on the blue balloon. If you have done this and you have no music, I would say the card is defective.

How do I add a note to this card?

I don’t think you can, you would have to mail it to you first, fill out the note part, and then mail it off to the person you’re sending it to

What type of battery is used in this card?

It comes with a built-in battery. I don’t think it is replaceable.
