New updated emotions illustrations! Inclusivity and representation of all learners are important to us! We are pleased to announce that we have included a more diverse representation of characters within our Zones emotions illustrations throughout the 2021 printing of the curriculum book. While eight characters can’t possibly embody all the spectrum of humanity, we hope that learners see glimpses of themselves and those they know among this new cast. The Zones of Regulation: A Curriculum Designed to Foster Self-Regulation and Emotional Control This popular, easy-to-use regulation framework and award-winning curriculum teaches strategies for managing emotions and sensory needs to children, students, and clients ages 4+. Rooted in cognitive behavioural therapy, The Zones framework uses four colours to help individuals identify how they are feeling in the moment given their energy, emotions, and level of alertness, creating a coloured system to guide them to metacognitive strategies and tools to support regulation. By understanding how to read their bodies, detect triggers, think about the social context, and consider their reactions, individuals learn how to increase their ability to regulate their emotions, manage their sensory needs, and become more self-aware and skilful problem solvers. Activities and reproducible handouts and visuals are included in the curriculum along with instructions for digital access. All products which extend teaching about The Zones of Regulation require the use of this curriculum to teach with fidelity. What are the Four Zones of Regulation? Feelings come in different sizes, intensity, and levels of energy. To make this easy to talk and think about, we can categorize them into four simple, coloured categories that we call Zones of Regulation. The Blue Zone describes low levels of energy and down feelings, such as when we feel sad, tired, sick, or bored. The Green Zone describes when we feel calm energy and in control. We might feel

Very impressed
I have taken my time reading this text and I can see it should be in every teachers library. This needs to be part of every schools curriculum. I like the way the Author has considered differentiation of each teaching session and that it can be delivered to all ages. It builds upon the Alert programme and the 5 point scale. This system is a wholistic approach for emotional regulation and gives you a variety of calming, cognitive and sensory strategies. The resource comes with USB drive so you can reproduce its handouts. I would definitely recommend this for all schools but also for any keen parents out there.

Get in the Zone...
Excellent resource book for anyone working with young people who need help with emotional literacy. Check out the app Zones of Regulation to use alongside the resource and which can help make the intervention very attractive to the young person. Can also be used as a whole class strategy. Lots of freebies available on line too. zones of regulation works well alongside or as an extension of other emotional literacy interventions.

The best book I have EVER bought
The book arrived in pristine condition. I knew it was going to be a worth while investment. It is worth every penny, with the extra bonus (which is a huge bonus) of a memory card, jam packed with printables. The activities are so easy to follow. Children will relate to them so well. Super happy I bought this book. Highly recommended.

We recommend this approach in our work with parents and schools. Expensive to buy though.

Clear and everything provided.
Rolling this out across our school. The book tells you everything with resources attached. There are 17 (??) clear lessons to teach over that many weeks to embed the culture. Looking forward to doing it.

Fantastic resource
I highly recommend this product. The CD is actually a USB but being able to print out high quality professional resources is great. Been using for a few weeks in class and this is exactly what was needed to address emotional control and behaviour.

Great for work in school and clinician settings
While I am not an OT, I truly love being able to support children who come for outpatient therapy with this treatment. It is a very flexible manual where you can use specific parts or go through the whole manual to support children with autism. I usually use this treatment with children on the spectrum that are verbal and able to talk about concepts and reflect on ideas and examples given. It's a really great way to think about feelings and how they lead to actions that might affect others. A must have for clinicians working with school age children, wether that be in outpatient settings or in school.

Zones of regulation is a fantastic tool for teaching children how to self regulate
Zones of regulation is a fantastic tool for teaching children how to self regulate. I have used this in my work with children for the past 4 years and find it quite effective. The USB that accompanies it is full of great tools! This tool is most effective when used consistently across environments, such as at home and at school.

"Zones" is a self regulation program combining the best parts of many programs.
I am a special education technician in a school. We had a workshop on Zones. The book is full of instruction, lessons, and explanations of how to give students tools for self-regulation.

Excellent self-regulation resource can assist children, therapists, teachers, and parents
In her book, The Zones of Regulation, the author, Leah M. Kuypers, explains why kids with self-regulation difficulties can benefit from targeted Sensory Integration strategies. The author provides a clear and accessible child-friendly color-coded system for adults and children to use when they collaborate for implementing the recommended strategies. In the book, Ms. Kuyper also includes many related helpful tools and resources. As a licensed pediatric occupational therapist with a specialty in Sensory Integration, I highly recommend this book!
