Extremely portable, useful for trips just out and about!
I bought this item 12/2/2019 and I really wanted to write a review even though I havenโt fully tested it yet. I will update this review once I do all the other things I want it to do. But for now here we go. I bought the Jackery 240 because we lost power for several days in NJ. I was tired of waiting for my husband to fix our broken gas generator. I wanted a rechargeable generator that can 12 volt appliances like little cooking thing or a low powered heater. I boiled eggs/heated food with a sterno cooking thing. It worked but I wanted other alternatives. I know there is a lot of other alternatives for cooking (like propane stuff, wood stove etc) and heat (I used Hot Hands all sizes) and the hubby has all these equipment. But I think he is saving all his equipment for the ultimate doomsday 0_0 and Iโd have to ask permission to use them. So Iโm like to heck with this Iโm going to get my own stuff โ something not too exorbitant and not a repeat of equipment he already has. I am supposed to be the helpless female (LOL) but I guess when you have kids (or when youโre tired of waiting to be rescued) you gonna help yourself. Ok thatโs my lifestory donโt downgrade my review its down below LOLLL I have the Honeywell HeatBud 250 Watt Personal Ceramic Heater, Black (HCE100). This heater has a low setting โ 170 watts and high setting 250 watts. I tested it on both settings and it works! Of course it would be silly of me to use it just for that purpose. As a previous reviewer said, the heater sucked the power off the Jackery and I think it ran between 60-90 minutes. I donโt remember because I was watching TV and then then it just turned off LOL. The Jackery didnโt give me any warning that it was low battery. I also charged other items on the Jackery for 10 minutes before I tested the Honeywell which Im sure drained it a bit but Iโm pretty sure it was at least 60 minutes or more before the Jackery was empty. I donโt think Iโll be using the Jackery for heating purposes as that would be such a waste of power. Guess itโll still be the Hot Hands scenario for heat! But itโs nice to see that the Jackery can power the Honeywell Heatbud heater. So if someoneโs hands is close to frostbite I can power on my Honeywell for 90 mins of heat. I also tested a smaller Lasko heater (which I returned actually). The Lasko heater was advertised as 200 watts. It was totally brand new and on first use it was using 240 watts + and the Lasko kept turning on and off. That went on for about 5-10 mins. Then the Lasko began to stabilize and pulling a regular 200watts+ from the Jackery and stayed on. So my assumption was that at first use/brand new the Lasko was trying to heat itself up (??) My Honeywell Heatbud didnโt do that but then again the Honeywell Heatbud was not brand new. But anyway, Iโm not too pleased with the Lasko especially as it doesnโt have the tip-over safety feature and lower heat settings. So if I *had* to use a heater with the Jackery it would be the Honeywell Heatbud. I bought a mini hotpot from Amazon that has two power settings 200 watt and 600 watt. I will update my review once I use it either tonight or over the weekend. I am curious to see if the 200 watt setting will work on the Jackery and how long it takes to boil water at the lower setting. I have a review for the mini hotpot somewhere in case youโre curious. But my plan is to use the mini hotpot to boil eggs/heat soups/coffee/chocolate milk for the family faster than the sterno stove (during power outages) and when we go on sporting events several days in a hotel โ things like that. The next major test I did (which I would definitely be using the Jackery more this way than any other) was plugging in my Wagan Thermoelectric Cooler/Warmer in the DC outlet โ cigarette lighter) My sons had a swim meet competition and we always have hot food cooked. I would use the Wagan to keep it warm for them. In the past I would power the Wagan with my Honda CR-V cigarette lighter. But whenever I turn my car off it cuts the power to the Wagan. Also, there is a warning that in order to avoid the Wagan from malfunctioning I must power off the Wagan then shut my car AND/OR plug the Wagan to the car before powering it on. So with the Jackery 240 I donโt need to worry about any of that! So at 100% I plugged in my Wagan and powered on the Jackery and the Wagan respectively about 730AM in the morning with my 3 already hot spaghetti inside. I never turned off the Wagan or the Jackery. About 5 hours or so later I checked on the Jackery and it was about 40% power remaining! Cool! Since using an electric cooler (and soon my Alpicool compressor fridge/freezer) is mostly what Iโll be using the Jackery for (as well as the mini hotpot if it works) โ and the minor charging of other electronics Iโd leave this review here for now. My husband uses a CPAP machine โ Resmed Airsense 10. I read in the reviews that the Jackery can power this machine so that is cool. Although my husband says he can live without the CPAP since power outages (or vacations somewhere is temporary) I am unable to test this for myself. Since he gets mad if I nag him I wonโt bother convincing him. But itโs good know that if need be the Jackery can power his CPAP machine if he ever decides to use it. In summary below are what I like, dislike, the items I used it for/tested with, final thoughts until my next update with other things I want to test it with. What I like: 1. Seems durable and high quality - doesnโt look and feel like it will break easily 2. Light and portable โ carrying it around is no biggie for 5ft me 3. 12V DC outlet works (I heard that it gives the max power even when battery is low) it worked well with my 12volt thermo electric cooler 4. You can power and charge the machine at the same time (havenโt check this yet) 5. Bought it at the lower price during an Amazon Lightning Deal (yay!) What I dislike: 1. Wish it had a USB-C outlet (thatโs what my tablet and phone use) 2. Slow charging โ in the AC outlet I saw it pulls in 39 watts Final Thoughts: This is my first โsolarโ generator. But I did research a lot - or should I say Amazon reviews and Youtube research LOL. Jackery seemed to come up as being reliable and not too expensive like Goalzero. Maybe just maybe if I did the whole off grid living and conversion van life I would get Goalzero 1000 as well but Iโm not. And I donโt want to throw my money away. The consensus seems that Jackery is a solid brand and worth it. I plan to keep my Jackery 240 in my car as I drive 64 miles one way to work. I like the Jackery 240 so much that I may just buy the 500 watt version if it goes on sale again. Itโs back to $500 right now. But anyway, Iโm still researching and maybe Iโm getting carried away. But I want the ability to higher wattage appliances and/or charge a lot more. I like the previous reviewers advice of having two of these. Since they recharge slowly one can be used while the other is recharging โ perfect! But $$$. I usually like to get two powerful items. But the 240 is only 6 lbs while the 500 is 13 lbs. So I think itโs a wise decision for me to have a Jackery 240 and Jackery 500. Now if they come out with a Jackery 1000 I might get that instead. Jackery are you coming out with a 1000??? I recently purchased a Rockpals 100 watt folding solar panel which should be delivered today. (Yep Iโm getting carried away!!!) I want to be able to charge my Jackery 240 while Iโm at lunch by putting it on the roof of my car. I did not get the Jackery branded solar panels because it was too expensive for me. The Jackery 60 watt panel โ though it went on sale โ can only charge the Jackery alone. The Jackery 100 watt panel - which I REALLY liked and wanted to get since it can power other things as well - was $299! Since I plan to buy another Jackery (either 500 or 1000 if they make it in the future) I need to purchase wisely. Appliances I tested with: 1. Honeywell Heatbud 2. Honeywell Desktop Air Purifier 3. Wagan Thermoelectric Warmer/Cooler (using 12v, didnโt try the AC plug) 4. Android Tablets & Phones 5. Rav Battery Bank 6. Rechargeable Flashlights & Lamps Appliances I will test with soon: 1. Coolio Thermoelectric Warmer/Cooler 2. Alpicool C20 Fridge & Freezer 3. Rockpals 100 Watt Folding Solar Panel 4. Acer Chromebook 5. Dell Laptop 6. Modem & Router

Can be used for multiple purposes (outputs) and charged simultaneously
To replace my old lead-acid battery powered inverter (bought in 2003), whose battery finally died, I bought the Jackery 240. This review may be slightly more technical than most, as I am an electrical engineer, with experience in product testing. I am a member of the ARRL ARES organization (Amateur Radio Emergency Services), as well as RACES (Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service). These organizations are affiliated with our county Emergency Operations Center. Every year we conduct several drills (exercises) to test equipment, processes, peopleโs training, and general readiness to tackle a real disaster. I will describe two such drills, in which the Jackery was used, and performed flawlessly. The Jackery was purchased in June, 2019, and was used in an exercise witnessed by our state disaster personnel in July, and again at a second exercise conducted in August, 2019, this time observed and critiqued by FEMA. The Jackery was used as the 115 VAC power source for a 12 volt DC power supply, which powered a Kenwood 50 Watt mobile Amateur radio (used in VHF band). Both drills were a county-wide field exercise with multiple sites involved. I was assigned to a location where people could be evacuated to, in the event of a real disaster. I had to be capable of maintaining communications from this site for many hours, and I did not want to deplete the car battery to provide 12 Volts to the Kenwood transmitter. I also did not want to leave the car idling for several hours during the drill. The Jackery was a perfect fit for this, as it was able to supply a stable 115 Volt AC source to the 12 volt power supply, it had enough capacity to run my transceiver all day, and could be recharged by the car during usage, so I could run the car only enough to recharge the Jackery when it reached about 65% (my choice of recharge point). As the Jackery could be charged during use (my old lead-acid based inverter could not), and displayed its remaining capacity, and also showed watt usage, I could keep close track on its performance, and make a decision when I wanted to start the car to recharge it. I was also able to use it to keep my cell phone charged as well. The photo I attached to this review shows the Jackery sitting on the floor of the car on the passenger side of the vehicle, connected to the carโs 12 Volt cigarette lighter socket, and with a second connector to my cell phone. I used a separate 12 volt power supply (not the 12 volts supplied by the Jackery), as the Kenwood transceiver required 13 Amps at 12 volts, and the Jackery will only supply 10 Amps at 12 volts. Instead the Jackery supplied 115 VAC at 13 watts to receive, and at 170 watts to transmit from the Kenwood mobile rig, using the big 12 volt power supply (shown just next to the Jackery in the photograph). The Jackery was monitored with a Fluke voltmeter to verify its output, a true RMS wattmeter to verify its watt output display, and my 12 volt supply was monitored as well both during receive (low load), and during transmit (very high load, pulling 170 watts from the Jackery). In all cases, the Jackery 240 provided accurate readouts on its display, provided stable power up to its specifications, and could be charged with the 12 volts from the car while supplying 115 VAC to my external 12 Volt supply without interruption. The Jackery unit provided fine performance during the two drills, and kept my cell phone charged during the entire drill. It is light to carry (those internal lithium ion batteries are a whole lot lighter than a big lead-acid battery). It appears to be reliable, and simple to use. I can wholeheartedly recommend it.

Got the job done for CPAP
I am very pleased with this Jackery Portable Power Station Explorer 240. Since getting my CPAP three years ago I've had only twice where the power was out at a time where it affected my ability to sleep. Yet both times it was stressful and kept me from sleeping - I need the CPAP to safely sleep at all. The second time was several hours, power going out overnight. The other time we ended up checking me into a hotel. This would be expensive if we didn't do something. We looked at the range of options for CPAPs from well known companies, and they too were very expensive. So we decided to look at Amazon for a backup battery option and found this Jackery Portable Power Station Explorer 240. In reading the many reviews and comparing to others here on Amazon, this is the one we felt would fit our lifestyle and home best. We did consider a larger size from Jackery and still may in the future, but for our current needs, enough others said this worked for their CPAP we decided to give it a go and we are happy we did. Of course our timing was ever so slightly off - a major storm rolled through two nights before it arrived - but luckily we didn't need it. Without the weather, we still gave it a try to make sure it works. My wife charged it that day - make sure you read the instructions for understanding how best to use and keep the battery in top shape. That night I slept with the Jackery Portable Power Station Explorer 240 rather than normal power to test it. It worked perfectly. We did note in many of the reviews folks suggesting turning the humidity down. Some had turned it off entirely, others kept it at a 2 level, so we went with the 2. I knew turning it off completely would not be comfortable for me, and even at 2 it took awhile for my nose to adjust. But in the end, it worked perfectly. I had it on being used for just shy of 9 hours. There was enough we felt I'd be able to get a second night out of the original charge. In the past we have never lost power here for more than around 8 hours, so a second night wasn't a concern. However, knowing it is possible, we also know we'd potentially have to take it somewhere to charge after two nights. This is why we would consider a larger size in future. There was at least one we noted specifically stated "for CPAP," whereas this Jackery Portable Power Station Explorer 240 technically does not (at the time of purchase). The Jackery Portable Power Station Explorer 240 unit is a great weight. It's substantial enough to sit on a table and not worry about it getting knocked or blown over (if camping), but also really easy to move around. While children and some seniors might have an issue, most should not. I think we were most blown away by how quiet it runs. We use a sound machine to help us sleep - and anyone who uses a CPAP knows it makes a sound that can be uneven as you sleep. This Jackery Portable Power Station Explorer 240 was no where near as loud, and the "sound" we did experience blended well into the other, louder ones. It is very easy to use and very easy to charge. I cannot remember the exact time it took that first charge, but it was only a couple to a few hours - not at all bad. We have only used it once so far, but I've told my wife I want to use it from time to time in order to make sure it keeps running, we know it's charged, and that it's still working. But if it does those things, it'll be considered an excellent find and should keep me safe and prepared for the foreseeable future. I'm very pleased.

A product so good I wrote a school paper about it
This paper was written as an example about usability. Jackery Explorer 1000 Switching to sustainability is a key decision in almost every businessโs lifespan. The purpose of this document is to recommend the Jackery Explorer 1000 for your businessโs needs of remote power. This unit is the largest that Jackery offers, and as they are the name in the portable power station business to know, this is the best of the best. Through our rigorous tests, we observed multiple different brands of power stations, including Yeti, Rockpals, and others, and this Jackery was the clear winner in most of the results with the most consistent output and ease of use. The Situation We at TechCon know that your team often runs mobile operating stations when working outside of the office. At those stations, you need a power source. Currently, youโre using a gas generator that honestly is overkill for two guys and a coffee maker. Besides the constant need to fill up, gas generators produce pollutants, not to mention the noise. Depending on the brand they could be very unreliable, and you donโt want to run it inside. The Unit This Jackery unit solves all of those problems. This large unit can run lights, laptop chargers, coffee pots, and everything else that a small team could need. At 1000 watts, it may not be as heavy-duty as some large gas generators, but it makes up for it with portability and ease of use. The 1000 model has 3 AC outlets on the front, as well as a few USB options. Next to each of the grouped outlets is a switch that allows you to turn off the charging port. This allows you to stop the battery drain without unplugging the wiring, or you can run it as a central control. To charge the Jackery station, there are multiple options as well. For some devices and usage times with this unit, see Figure 2 below. The Jackery line of power banks can be charged by a wall socket, a vehicleโs 12v outlet, or even solar panels. This combination of possibilities means you will, hopefully, never be out of options for power. This battery can be recharged by two 100 watt solar panels(also sold by Jackery) in around 8 hours. So itโs safe to say that on a sunny day, you could charge the battery and use it at the same time, then still have a full charge at the end of the day(Figure 3). It will charge a little faster through a buildingโs wall outlet, but slower from a car 12v outlet. Not all power banks have a solar charging option, and this is key when working remotely. A few devices that the Jackery cannot support would be large appliances such as a hairdryer or an electric stovetop. It is not made to produce enough wattage for that sort of use, but it can power many other necessities easily. That being said, it can power 8 devices at a time, such as a computer, a USB fan, LED lights, a camera charger, and a USB speaker, as examples. For your specific situation, this unit can keep your two agentโs laptops and phones charged all day for maximum productivity while decreasing your carbon footprint. Weighing only 22 pounds, this is a lightweight solution to power needs when there isnโt a wall outlet or car charger nearby, and can be carried almost anywhere in the world. The ergonomic handle on top gives the Jackery a lunchbox feel and balance, which is fitting because it prepares you for the full day. This would be ideal for when you send a team on the road to meet clients, or just when the power goes out at the home office. The best thing about this unit, compared to a gasoline generator, is that you can use it indoors without fearing the airborne toxins. This product does not come with the solar panels, but they are sold separately. The Jackery folding panels are specially made to work perfectly with their power banks, but other options have been matched up to work as well. The Jackery units have a solar controller on the inside of the unit, so it bypasses the need for a custom-built system that most RV or van dwellers need to build for mobile power. The Tests Our tests of the Jackery and the other brands consisted of day-in and day-out draining and recharging of the battery packs. They were tested in high and low temperatures, during sunshine and moonlight hours. Not every data point was a significant difference between all devices tested. By the end of the five different studies(Portability, Rechargability, Usability, Sustainability, and Power Supplied), the Jackery Explorer 1000 was the clear class leader. While the Yeti did charge a little faster, the Jackery weighs a full 15 pounds lighter. And while the Rockpals unit had a better capacity, it took an extra 6 hours to charge, which would put it at 14 hours for a full charge. The differences were small but clear. The Conclusion Our recommendation is that you purchase one of the Jackery Explorer 1000 units to replace your gasoline generators immediately so that you may start to see the cost savings and usefulness. This all-in-one unit is a piece of American-designed ingenuity that will quickly become the tool you didnโt know you needed. This Jackery Explorer 1000 become your choice for mobile power solutions, whether your team needs it out on the go, or at home during an emergency. I know that after you touch this for the first time, it will give you confidence, not only in the company but also in the 2 year warranty that comes with the unit.

Light - Quality - Simplicity - Reliability - Good Size - Just Enough Accessories for Model Size
Quick Review After Couple of Days an Initial Use - Altamonte Springs, FL (April 3, 2020 12:30 p.m.) -- I wanted to provide some initial feedback just after receiving and using the Jacker Explorer 240 unit. After about 30 day sor so I should know more about the unit after using it over an extended period of time. So the unit out of the box immediatly felt like a good solid build, quality and was actually brand new. Just a day before I received a competitors unit which was used (LCD Screen had light scratches (without the plastic covering to proove it was unused; and the four plastic feet (not rubber reinforced like the Jackery) had scratches on it as if it has been used, set down on various surfaces, etc.) The unit also was at 0% charge - which was also strange because most battery units have a little charge like this one, which was around 30% - like you here from other reviewers. So, that was the "open the box and initial impression" impact. Initial quick "I want to use this now, forget about reading the manual" experience. This is where the "simplicity" factor kicks in. The LCD screen shows power IN, power OUT and battery % level. That's it. Perfect. Okay, I have a disorganized initial work flow, so the unit is currently powring a phone, ipad, a wireless repeater, MacBookPro (90w draw at max); etc. I wanted to transfer all portable power needs "off" the starter battery to the vehicle. So plugging all these portable devices into the Jackery station (I need more plugs, to consider the 500, or 1000w unit later), means I could: 1) Have an "Uninteruptable" power supply that doesn't "trip" when I accidentally knock a plug, wire, reseting the wireless router, etc. causing down time) (I wonder if there is a surge protector somewhere on the unit?). 2) Be able to then supply charging power [1) Solar; 2) Vehicle; and 3) AC] while at the same time using the power ports - requiring the intellegent power in /out management system... 3) Have a reasonable amout of power to draw from when no auxilliary repowering opportunity exists (at night) for the evening (not bottoming out to 0%) by morning - when recharging is possible to reset system. This of course is dependent on model choice. So far this Jackery 240 unit managed to only go down to 66% when using an ipad and smartphone - most importantly, leaving the "starting battery" in tacted and without power drain. Thats it for now. Leave questions in the reply's to this comment if you think I can answer a question. ------------------------------- Wish list of improves: 1) Terminal Connectors for straight connecting Solar Panel wires. I currently am using a 12v outlet wired nutted to the wires coming from my 100w solar panel. 2) Technical: AFter further reviews, I bellieve the internal mechanism which manages power in and out, which works well by the way, operates like a PWM Solar Charge Controller and not an MPPT type controller. That means, if your panel is pushing out more volts or watts, this Jackery unit will do a simple modulation to a lowest common denominator situation. I can't explain it as well, but there is a lack of "modulating the solar panel" to the best and highest input to charge the unit. This could be lets say only charging at 35watts vs a possible 50, to 75 watts panels may be able to send to the unit. Yet, this inclusion, may simply increase the cost of this unit by at least $100 bucks (as is the difference between prices between the PWM and MPPT solar charge controllers. The work around, which I'll check, may be to run my panel through my MPPT controller, and then connect the managed power from the MPPT controller to the power in jack on the Jackery station. - More on that later. 3) BT Application allowing monitoring / checking status of the power levels at the Jackery Station using a smartdevice (android/iOS) or computer. That way if your lounging at the beach somewhere, and the unit is tucked away somewhere in the shade, one does not have to get up, etc. and check the status of the unit by looking at the screen. One thing, the unit has lots of on/off buttons which enable all aspects of the unit such as the LCD screen, USB, 12v and AC outlets. This manual on off does control unecessary drain on the system when not needed. Installing a BT wireless transmitter/receiver, would mean powering that unit "all the time." However, it could be programmed to send reports perhaps every 15, 30, 45 60 minutes to your phone then turn itself off. Okay Jackery developers - design that (you can give me credit for this idea, and pay me a small fee on royalties).

A MUST HAVE FOR EVERY HOUSEHOLD
I have been a interested in purchasing Jackery portable power station for quite sometime now; seeing it in the various prepper, outdoors, and camping/RV channels reviews, it seems that this piece of equipment is must have for both outdoor use, readiness/emergency, and other general use where power is not readily available. For starters, I purchased Jackery 240, in which my pocket can afford and a mid-level box at the time (between J160 & J500 - pre-Jackery 1000), along with the SolarSaga 60 solar panel. Rule of thumb, if you are purchasing a solar rechargeable power station/box, it is wise to get the solar panel at the same time. Since its purchase, I put this thing to work, from charging my laptop and wife's tablet; our phones; at night outside - plugging-in mini-led light strings and 10 led light bulbs (3w is most efficient - no flicker); charging our 3 Baofeng radios; 7in desk fan; our Nikon camera batteries etc. We had a power outage during weekdays (I work from home due to Covid-19), and my Jackery 240 kept me at work - I plugged my mini-pc (small-format/mini PC - forward thinking always helps, less power demand compared to normal sized PCs and generates little or no heat - which means, less power demand to cool it) & two monitors to the Jackery, and kept me going for approximately 4+ hours! By then, the power is back on, I can probably run it much longer. For those who are wondering how I kept myself connected on-line, my router and modem are connected to a large switched APC UPS 38-hour backup - my PC is on the 2nd floor while my router & modem are in the family room. However, my main complaint about this awesome equipment is the lack of waterproofing or protection - ports do not have individual rubber plugs, as well as the shell or body is not water-proofed. I use the good o'le trashbag and duck tape to form a casing and port access; as what we used to do in the US Marine Corps whenever we are in the field or deployed, to protect radios from sand, water, etc. On the other hand, with its handle location and awesome construction, along with its weight; this great piece of equipment can be used as an effective self-defense weapon if the need arises. I haven't tried to test it for that purpose, yet. But, I will get a BOB and try to strike it with J240 multiple times, then operation/function check it after. PROS: Portability Lightweight & Ease to carry Versatility Multi-charging sources Quick charge if plugged in power outlet or vehicle; solar-charging depends on weather, but great charging speed on high sun Carrying handle is perfect, not just for carrying, but for lashing it down to secure it Switched ports - have to ability to turn the ports ON or OFF Solid construction Can be an effective tool for self-defense, if the need arises. CONS: No rubber covers or protectors on ports. Not waterproofed, especially if used outdoors. Overall, this is a great piece of equipment to have; A MUST HAVE EQUIPMENT IN EVERY HOUSEHOLD! I highly recommend Jackery, and have been recommending it to my family and friends; and fellow veterans who need alternate sources of power to operate their medical equipment in & out of their homes.

Greatest product ever made by the greatest company ever built
Okay, I will start out by saying I am a U.S Service-member with over twenty years of Honorable service. With that being said Iโve done multiple tours to almost every desert in the Middle East, tours in tropical environments, tours in some pretty secluded off grid undisclosed locations. I only put this out there because Iโve had the pleasure of being a Jackery customer for years and years and the Jackery 240 portable power station, , the Jackery Solar Saga 60w tri-fold panels, and the small Jackery portable chargers were compact and lightweight enough to fit into my pack with ease and leave me room for the other essentials. Imagine being in the middle of nowhere and have a weeks worth of power at your fingertips for recharges, lights, portable fans, small burner for coffee and cooking. Then being able to say it never failed you, always recharged quickly, and has been through the worlds harshest conditions and environments, yet functions like the day you pulled it out of the box. So this began my Jackery passion. Which led me to purchase the Jackery 500. Everything Iโve said above applies to the 500 ten fold folks. Being Military my pay isnโt great so Iโve had to accumulate these items over the course of years, however never have I had to justify spending the money to my wife, as long as I said the word Jackery. Because sheโs used the items as well here at home guard. My son plays Football and daughter plays soccer in the Nevada desert just miles away from where the annual Burning Man event is held. Hot dry desert climate, no trees for shade, just direct unrelenting heat. This genius woman, the love of my life used our Jackery Portable power stations to run dual fans, and a small refrigerated trucker cooler during daytime practices in a pop up sunshade tent, all neatly placed in one of those little soccer mom wheeled totes, and a folding low loveseat chair. Talk about super mom, with lots of friends who also wanted to stay cool. Then when night fell and the kids werenโt finished with practice, my lovely wife handed over the Jackery 500 to the coaches who then plugged LED lights into it and lit up the field for the kids giving us an extra hour or two to practice without the heat. This convinced her to give me permission to buy the SolarSaga 100w panels. Money was tight but she gave me the go ahead and weโve never looked back and havenโt got an ounce of regret or buyers remorse for a single product. But this review is neither for the the Jackery 240, the Jackery 500, the SolarSaga 100w or 60w panels. Itโs not even for the Jackery portable chargers. This review is to let you know, the day the Jackery 1000w Portable Power Station became available we did not hesitate for a second to buy it. With the stories we heard from friends about California and Washington power outages, the Covid-19 Pandemic, and any one of the many RV trips we take into Gods country to get away from it all for a few weeks, we both agreed this was the best thing for our family. Why use heavy loud generators, carry fuel, deal with all that monotonous nonsense, when you could literally live off the Jackery Families products. I say Family because over the years Iโve had multiple email contacts and numerous phone calls with them, and every interaction was amazing. Courteous, professional, and the products are literally second to none. The Jackery 1000 is my newest addition and thereโs nothing I can say about it that the 240 or 500 donโt already represent. Twice the power, twice the life, multiple solar panel options, can recharge through car, wall, or good ol sunshine. I could get technical and go down the path as some of these reviewers do, but you anyone can read the box. I can sum everything the box says by just telling you that these products, put out by this amazing company, can enhance anyoneโs life, save somebodies life, and will probably last your the rest of yours. Itโs a no brainer for us. Iโve purchased every product so far with a smile knowing its perfect and the people handing it to me care enough to treat you as if you were family.

Reliable Power in a small package !!!
This Jackery Explorer 240Wh purchased was on 12-12-18 and review written on 3-3-19. I go camping regardless of weather conditions about 120+ days a year. I have 30 tents of various sizes, shapes and designs which I modify each one for my needs. I camp all over the USA and keeping my devices charged up is of great importance. I have the Jackery Explorer 240Wh Power Station and Jackery 50watt Solar Panel Kit and Jackery 240 Protective Carrying Bag which I highly recommend. I love this small charging station setup. I used it for the 1st time while on a 3 week camping trip to Quartzsite, Arizona for RTR 2019 gathering. I recharged 4 Action cameras, 4 Mavic Pro batteries, iPhone6, 6 18650 batteries for 12v Fan, and 10000mah battery pack. When the Explorer 240Wh Power Station was at 40% charge, I would set solar panels outside 7:30am and reposition them thru out the day and was at 100% by 3:30pm. If you look at the picture of shade on the panel, it was still charging at 10watts where as most panels will not charge at all when shade is on even 10% of the panel. I also purchased the carry case which fits it perfect. The 50w solar panel are well made but not waterproof as it has external USB-A and USB-C ports. The 50w solar panel came with a nice protective cover to stow it in when not in use. 04-25-19 Update, on 4-3-19 I love this device so much, I purchased a 2nd Jackery Explorer 240Wh power station, Jackery had a 15% discount and I had a discount code from HoboTech youtube channel and was able to purchase this 2nd one for $197. I also purchased Jackery 240 Protective Carrying Bag to protect my investment. Yes the solar panels are a little pricey, but they are well worth it. They are very convenient, well made, foldable which take up a smaller foot print when not in use, tough and rugged, and do the job as described. The solar panel kit has 2 outputs 1 USB-A port at 5V/2.4amp and 1 USB-C port at 5V/3amp, 1 DC port at 16.2volts/3.15amp at50watts, being able to charge multiple devices at the time such the my Explorer 240Wh and iPhone, iPad4 tablet and/or action camera. I am able to charge anywhere WITHOUT having to carry 5 gallon gasoline and my 2200watt generator making my setup eco-Friendly. The solar panel kit included Jackery 50Watt Solar Panel, a 3M extension cord. It has a 24 month product warranty and Jackery's Customer Service is by far one of the best in the industry. I have contacted them with questions and received quick professional answer(s) to my question(s). An outstanding company and technical support group ([email protected]). The 3 meter/9.84 feet cable that connects the solar panel to Explorer 240Wh is not offered in longer lengths which is the only downside. However, I made my on 20 feet extension cable. I will be purchasing the 440Wh Power Station and 100Watt Solar Panel Kit soon.

Game Changer Solution for Those Camping with CPAP
I was a bit reluctant to get this battery due to the fact that I knew Resmed charges $1200 for their AirSense 10 battery, so I wasn't sure whether this unit would do a comparable job, given it is a fraction of the cost. I got the Explorer 240 in hopes that it will provide sufficient power to my CPAP Airsense 10 (no humification, no heated tube) for 2 nights camping with the family recently. I have bad sleep apnea so I have needed regular CPAP for over 12 years now. The last couple of times camping without it have resulted in very poor sleep for me and annoyance for my family with the incessant snoring. My kids did not really look forward to a repeat performance, so I thought I would try to mitigate the eventual complaining by picking up the Jackery battery. It was really through online reviews that purchasing this product became compelling. It was received quickly by Canada Post and packaged very professionally and it was delivered to me a day or so before my camping trip. I charged the Jackery up the night before and then took it with me. I didn't buy the solar panels and while I should have tried it at home first, I didn't (didn't have time). The good news is once it was bedtime the first night in our tent I was able to easily figure out how to work it. I like the fact that the AC outlet I have to manually turn on - it's not on default and won't leak out power unnecessarily. I was pleased to start my CPAP machine and saw it is working. I do like the fact that it shows both the power input and output, so it gives the user a reasonable idea of what to expect for output, given a certain power draw that one can see. I was even more pleased to see after the first night of 6-7 hours of sleep, my Jackery battery showed remaining life of 69%! Which gave me hope it would last one more night. By the second night it was still at 69% when I went to bed, and I slept about 6-7 hours again and awoke with the Jackery at 33%. I am not sure if it would have powered a third night but I was happy it powered up my CPAP completely during my trip which was the goal. There were no interruptions of power delivery to my CPAP on either night. I was able to use another remaining 11% to power up all the kids and my cell phone the next day before we left and still had power to spare. All in all, this is an impressive product. Great design, easy to use, light weight and even the packaging was nicely put together with little space to spare but everything was neat and tidy. Liked the manual and the included stickers too. After this experience, I am certainly bullish on Jackery products and it's funny because when I went to Costco the Friday that I was leaving for camping, I saw they were selling Jackery 880W Explorers. I was very tempted to buy one, but wanted to see the 240W in action first. I will no doubt be buying another Jackery, knowing how reliable it is, and it more than exceeded my expectations. When I came home I went to register the product with Jackery to receive an additional year of warranty. It is too bad that the $200.00 off they give as a result can only be spent in the US and only for orders over $1200. But overall I am very pleased at this product and would recommend it without hesitation for anyone needing a way to power up their CPAP while camping. Obviously if one is using humidification or a heated tube, the power draw would be much more and it would be hard to say what you would get in one or two nights. Certainly buying a higher wattage Jackery would mitigate that, but for what I got for what I paid, I am very delighted.

Excellent! Wow! Amazing!
*writing from Canada - Bought lowest power option as I am primarily using for laptop/cellphones/lights I come from a background of just using powerbanks for phone chargers, but really hated how they take hours and hours to charge, or die off when it drops below freezing. I seeked out Jackery simply because it was mentioned over and over again in car camping/campervan conversion forums as the #1 go to. Things I like: 1. Durable quality parts - It feels high quality, not cheap. It's much lighter then I thought, the grab handle is awesome and kudos for adding a rubberized bottom for grip so it doesn't fall over, very smart. 2. Resists cold - I've used this in -18 celcius (0 Fahrenheit) and the charge does not remotely get affected, doesn't deviate at all. Most powerbanks lose charge fast at those temperatures, not this one! 3. Charges fast! - Connected it to my car lighter adapter, and it charges surprisingly fast, I can get about 10-20%back just driving an hour or so easy, and that's when its also charging my phone. Haven't charged it by outlet since opening because it just re-charges so fast, ive had no need, and I'm never worried on road trips. 4. Charges devices fast - I don't know the tech specs, but it feels like i'm plugging my phone and laptop into a wall outlet, lightyears faster then using a powerbank. Things that I did not like: 1. The cigarette outlet on the battery does not come with a cover, so you have a big empty hole that is exposed to dirty, dust, etc... Not a huge deal, I just put some paper towels in there to stuff the whole when not in use. Buy this!

Use it consistently for years, love it, my best purchase in years
First and foremost, I can 100% recommend this. I can recommend it to the extent, that is probably the best purchase I've done in the last few years. Yes, you've heard that right. My usage is probably not what other people will use it for, so you can skip this paragraph if you like. Let me paint you the scenario, do to covid and working from home my car that I would usually drive daily, was barely getting any use so the battery started to die. That means I would have to get CAA, to come over give me a charge, then go to the garage and pay someone to recharge my battery. Using a trickle charger wasn't an option yet, since I live in a apartment building. No outlets. So unless I wanted to pay a hundred bucks to have my car jumped then fully recharged, I needed another method. This is where the jackery came in handy and paid for itself. With this charged, I was able to get a noco trickle charger, put the jackery on the bottom of my passenger seat, run the wire through the window of the car down to under the hood where the battery is. And let it trickle charge for a few hours, then my car is as good as new. Now for the proper review, this dracary can only take in 60 watts. It's the smallest of all the jackerys, but don't let that fool you, I have two 100 watt solar panels, so I get 200 watts, again it only takes in 60 watts, but it didn't affect the unit. It just helps the charge a little faster. As I stated, I'm in an apartment building where the light isn't always at full volume, but the jackery is still able to charge completely within two to three days. Again it only has 240 capacity, but that is more than enough to charge everything, my car battery, and then my cell phone daily, and I've invested in packs of rechargeable AA and AAA batteries, that now get free power, free solar power to charge them with. So all the remotes in my house, the clocks, basically anything that you can recharge, now gets recharged for absolutely free. What's not to love about free power. If you're on the fence about getting a solar generator, with solar panels. I would recommend dipping your toe with a 100 watt solar panel, doesn't have to be the jackary brand, and this small 240. Just be warranted, you will want more capacity as time goes on. Once you get the free energy kick, you'll want to power bigger appliances like TVs, but this unit is too small for that. Or rather it will only run it for a few hours, still fantastic. But if you can definitely upgrade to the largest model you can. I also uploaded a photo of it, in a IKEA 2x4 bookcase, so you can see how small it is. It's kind of like one of those old school lunch boxes. Ps Free power!

Absolutly love this thing!
Picked this up before going on an 11 day camping road trip through Oregon and am super glad I did! It has enough punch to power the majority of laptops out there and can easily charge a handful of devices at once. We used my phone as a GPS and music/podcast player for the entire trip, simply kept it plugged in the Jackery and never had to worry about my phone being at low battery or dead once we arrived at our destination. Being able to charge the Jackery with the provided car adapter made it for the perfect solution. We kept it in the back seat and ran an extension cable to the front, we where able to charge our two phones and a macbook air all from the comfort of the front seat. I would highly recommend Jackery products to anyone looking for a solid, reliable portable power solution. The 240 is perfect for us as we mostly use it to power phones, laptops, tablets, and Nintendo Switch but they offer many different sizes to accommodate more power hungry applications. This product is definitely worth the price, feels extremely well build and has been extremely reliable so far. Might pick up the solar panel extension at some point to see how that does.
