completely misleading
The product description is very wrong as it states that this sheath will accept a 6 inch knife. I wanted a better sheath for my 5.5 inch buck hunting knife and this sheath comes no where close to that size. In fact the longest it will hold is 4 inches.

Decent quality budget level sheath. Real leather and metal rivets. No welt. I wish they made an oak acorn tooled one like the old Western's.

For the price, a real bargain.
I bought this sheath for my Case XX 300 Apache knife. The blade is 3/4" by a shade over 5 1/8". This sheath would easily accommodate a blade 1 1/4" wide. Length, it would take a 6" blade easily, maybe a shade more. My handle is 4 5/8", and sticks up 1/4" above the top of the sheath...not an issue for me.The sheath itself was made well enough. The stitching was inline where it should be, and the rivets were in the right places, and well fastened. The pattern appears to be pressed in. For the rare times I will actually wear this knife/sheath, I think it will hold up nicely.My only issue was the strap that snaps together and holds the knife in place. It is loose, and I didn't care for it moving around. A little glue from a hot glue gun solved that. I also reversed the snap, making it easier to unsnap as I sweep my hand back to grasp the knife. I can basically unsnap and grab the blade in the same motion.

Check out the seller's policy before ordering
This sheath is very basic and I should have been more careful to inspect the pictures of the item and the seller's return policy before ordering. I was surprised with the quality of the item and would have returned it but the seller charges $6 for return shipping plus a 20% penalty unless the item was delivered with visible damage. So returning it because the item was poor quality meant that I got my purchase price minus $9. I will donate it to a local charity. The lesson is to vet things better before ordering. My mistake, hopefully not yours...

Beautiful leather sheath!
Inherited an older Bowie knife w/o a sheath & spotted these with the pattern like old school sheaths had. The rivets could stand an upgrade on thickness & wider flange but these are working fine so far. I intend to use it in my garden & around the house. I really like it a lot!! The more you handle it the nicer the leather looks.
