Massage Gel Powder 50g, Sakura Scent, Makes 5L, Made in Japan

This is a gorgeous scented massage gel. I tried the sakura (cherry blossom) sachets. Unlike most massage gels this comes in powder form where it is mixed with water so you can make as much or as little as you like. It did take a bit of stirring to dissolve clumps but its worth it for the incredible scent. It's silky smooth on the skin but slippery enough to allow for deep tissue massage. As with any massage gel a test patch is recommended before use. However this product is free from parabens and glycerine. It seems expensive but it feels expensive and as you make as much as you need there is no waste. No product to go off. I'm very pleased.

Positives: This massage gel powder is a hidden gem! Just a teaspoon mixed with warm water transforms the gel into a silky, ultra-slippery gel that feels amazing on the skin. As soon as the powder touches the water, it starts to turn the water into a gel instantly. The Sakura fragrance is subtle yet calming which is perfect for aromatherapy and relaxation. I love that it’s paraben and glycerine-free, making it gentle even for sensitive skin. A single sachet makes over 1.3 gallons, so it’s economical and eco-conscious. Great for full-body massages or even DIY spa nights! I gave my husband a massage and also tried it on my feet/leg and we could feel a cool sensation on the skin. The substance also absorbs well into the skin after 10 minutes of constant massaging. It really does help in making massaging really easy to do! And we felt a relief in the tensions and aches that we had in our muscles. Negatives: Mixing the powder took longer than expected, it took a couple of hours for the white powder to dissolve fully. The Sakura scent was pleasant but faded quickly. Also, the slipperiness, though great for massaging, it made cleanup a bit of a hassle. (Word of advice, don't spill it onto the body straight from the bowl! Definitely dip your hands into the gel then put on the body). Also unsure on how to dispose of the remaining gel that's unused.

Yes this is pricy (£29.74 with a voucher at the time of writing, £36.49 RRP on Amazon) but you get three packages of powder that you can mix into almost four whopping gallons of slippery massage gel. You don't need to use an entire packet at once, just dispense some into a mixing container and add water in small amounts until you get the desired consistency - you can tailor how you'd like your gel. The final product is divine, it's smooth, slippery, cooling and luxurious feeling. I think this product is marketed towards professionals or people who for some reason need massive amounts of slippery gel for their *cough* "personal activities". Made in Japan which is an automatic plus, they don't mess around with product quality over there and this is no different. Highly recommended especially if you can nab it with a voucher under £30.

I almost never leave reviews but this stuff is absolutely outstanding. It is true that this takes a while to fully dissolve with no clumps. For me it was almost a day before all clumps were dissolved. However… the quality of the product once made is INCREDIBLE. Sakura fragrance is very mild and pleasant. The gel does exactly what it is supposed to do and each 5g of product makes over 17 oz of gel, which goes a long, LONG way. Outstanding - highly recommend!

I really like the smell of this massage gel - it says it is Sakura fragrance, which is light and flowery. There are three packs in the box and, while the gel is awesome, it does take a long time to make. Use warm water and stir until the powder dissolves (this takes longer than I expected). Once it is mixed, you will need to wait around 20 minutes for the gel to form. The gel is nice and slippery and smooths over skin effortlessly. A single pack makes a lot of gel, so you will have leftover gel if you make the full packet. When I made it the second time, I only used about a quarter of the packet - that is a much more reasonable amount. I would have preferred the box have 10 smaller packets that are truly single use.

I ordered a 3 pack of DYI Massage Gel Powder Mix in Japanese Sakura Fragrance from the PURECRAFTS Store. Each packet makes about 1.32 gallons, but I would never use that at one time. I broke down the porportions to make smaller amounts at a time. I did not see that this mix includes any preservatives. I didn't want to take a chance on it spoiling or having to keep it in the refrigerator. 1 teaspoon powder makes about 2 cups of fragrant massage gel. 1/2 teaspoon powder makes about 1 cup of fragrant massage gel. 1/4 teaspoon powder makes about 1/2 cup fragrant massage gel. Just mix the powder with water or about 15 minutes to disolve the clumps. You can mix different amounts of water with Purecrafts Massage Gel Powder to personalize and to create your ideal texture. I make mine with a little less water to get a more solid gel. I like how I can adjust the ratio of water for the perfect consistency and create only what I need to avoid waste! I do not see a preservative in the ingredients list so I must be careful to make only as much as I will use at one time. The subtle smell of Japanese Sakura cherry smells natural and the gel can be the temperature you prefer; I like mine warm. This gel absorbs quickly and leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated. The DYI Massage Gel Powder Mix from the PURECRAFTS Store performed as expected and earns a 5 star rating.

Smells nice and feels smooth, but takes some trial and error to get the right consistency. Cool concept, just not as easy to mix as I hoped.

I'm quite impressed with this stuff. Makes A LOT. You don't need much at all to make a big batch of this. It did clump up for me at first, but after squeezing the clumps and waiting some they did eventually dissolve just like it said. It smells divine and has the consistency of lube. Really fun to use. It does say for external use only, so I'm not quite sure how creative you can get this beyond massaging the body. But even just for a regular body massage this has been great stuff.
