I easily transitioned into stick welding with success, except for when using E6010 rods. Unfortunately, this welder struggles to consistently run E6010 rods. Upon testing with a multimeter, the open circuit voltage (OCV) measured 57 volts while the display showed 67.5 volts. The current control voltage (CCV) fluctuated between 17 and 27, insufficient to maintain an arc for E6010 rods. However, it performs adequately with other rods like 7018. While it's true that you get what you pay for, this welder offers great value for its affordable price point.
