CRC Food Grade Penetrating Oil 03086 – 11 Wt. Oz., General Purpose Lubricant for Food Processing Equipment

Works like wd40 without the guilt of poisoning the environment.

Purchased this to loosen a kitchen faucet that wouldn’t swivel. Wanted a food grade product given the use in the kitchen. It quickly penetrated the joints and broke away the mineral deposits - allowing the faucet to turn with ease. Avoided spending hundreds to replace it and made the wife happy.

I'll give this penetrating oil a five star as opposed to a five because I haven't have the chance to test it on serious rusted parts like bolts and nuts, but that'll be coming up soon. I like the fact that it doesn't leave a smell...none at all...as opposed to WD40 and especially kroil penetrating oil. Both WD40 and kroil are effective in what they are designed for, but they can be harmful to the skin and health if precautions are not taken, especially when it comes to kroil. This oil, CRC, is odorless, colorless and made with safer ingredients. Having said that, the fact that is odorless and clear and safe for use in food processing equipment may create an issue if not handled properly. If you transfer this oil to smaller container, make sure the new container is labeled with its content as to prevent someone from accidentally using it as cooking oil.

If you work on kitchen equipment you should definitely have some of this around. I hate using WD40 anywhere near food contact surfaces. This stuff is great at freeing up bolts and leaves no smell afterwards. Side note, it has also helped me free up the motor and bearings on some equipment that had seized due to juice residue.

I had a few STUCK screws on my espresso machine, and I was at the end of my ability to deal with it.I tried the Penetrant and after soaking for an hour to overnight, I was able to remove the STUCK screws.The important thing for me was the "food grade" rating, as the screws were in the flow of the coffee water, so I could not use my normal penetrating oils.

The spray arrived early and was packaged with lots of padding to protect it from damage in shipping. Haven’t used it yet and probably won’t until next year but it should work well for my butcher meat saw.

Looking at the SDS on their web site, I think this is actually the same thing as their "Food grade machine oil", but that's not a complaint.I got this just to have a light lubricant / penetrating oil that's less toxic than things like WD-40. It works fine. Not sure it's an especially good value for the price, but I've not seen anything comparable for less. Drugstore mineral oil is a heavier viscosity and less convenient to dispense.

Product is outstanding freeing overnight a shower lock bonnet nut holding the valve. No smell and since food grade oil you feel good in using it. The only complaint is the oil comes out the top button until you adjust the straw enough to get the oil flowing out the straw. Awesome product though
