The Netgear Nighthawk RS600 performance is flawless. Despite a tedious setup, the router has proven to be reliable, stable, highly configurable, clearly proving to be the leader in WiFi 7 standards. We're delighted to have upgraded from an earlier Netgear Wifi 5 router, only to experience superior performance, reliability, and superior stability. The RS600 is proven to be the router to own. UPDATE: April 22, 2025 The Netgear Nighthawk RS600 has delivered superior throughput, delivering a full 10 gig on the Intranet port between the RS600 and a Cisco 10gig/multi-gig unmanaged switch, and a full 1 gig of download bandwidth via Xfinity Internet services. The ActiveArmor service offered by Netgear has also proven to thwart a number of connections, while the service offers the option to accept or deny through the interface. Not sure of the reviews where there seems to be disappointment, but our experience has been a solid WiFi7 performer, with network bandwidth second to none. The setup is simple for such a powerful network router. Spent my career in enterprise networking, so maybe that's our advantage with the equipment. UPDATE: May 22, 2025 Experienced the first firmware update for the RS600. The router update performed flawlessly. Netgear has delivered a seamless delivery of the first firmware upgrade for our RS600. The stability of the router before and after the first update has been flawless. The 2.4Ghz, 5Ghz, and 6Ghz radios support all devices simultaneously without issue. The RS600 has been perfectly stable and running 24/7 since installation, well over a month of seamless operation at exceptional speed and bandwidth. Great quality router. Great price with it being an open box sale.
Great quality router. Great look. High speeds. Very capable. Connect great to my system. Definitely a better or upgrade to my home wireless network. I did need to reset the system Amazon didnโt clear the system. (Open Box purchase) but a steal for the price, was able to purchase a better router than I first was looking at. A big upgrade in my system.

RS600 Poor WAN/LAN Performance
Returning the Netgear RS600 WiFi 7 router due to poor WAN/LAN performance. Also all 2.4G devices disconnect after being up for 4 days. After upgrading to a regional fiber internet streaming service, my 8 year old Netgear R9000 router was getting ~ 550 Mbps both upload and download speeds. So decided to upgrade the router with a RS600 to support the newer phones, computers, along with the larger coverage area. WiFi coverage is great but the upload and download speeds arenโt. With all the defaults turned on download was in the 200 to 250 Mbps range and uploads were averaging around 20 Mbps (or around 5% of my 8 year old NG router). More importantly devices, especially the TV boxes, were starting to have significant issues. The RS600 default settings resulted in download speed in the 200 to 250 Mbps range and uploads were averaging around 20 Mbps (or around 5% of the old router). More importantly devices, especially the TV boxes, were having issues. Turning off all options except NAT filtering. This included Armor, Protection Engine, and the Port scanning. Performance improved but only to 450 Mbps download and 22 Mbps upload. All tests using Ooklaโs Speedtest but also confirmed using other testing sites. New cables were used included Netgearโs provided cable. Factory reset has also been tried. Digging into the online postings, this upload problem appears to have been going on for some time and not fixed in the latest firmware update. And applies to more than the RS600 router. This performance problem appears to be mostly relevant to the home fiber optical systems. Older coax cable systems normally have their upload speeds throttled back to conserve bandwidth. So would have given it a 2 for poor performance but dropped it to a 1 for disconnecting all the 2.4G devices. Both problems are documented in other online forums and I donโt need a poor performing router.

Fantastic Upgrade!
We updated our 10 year old NETGEAR router for security reasons mainly. But wow, this new NETGEAR router delivers the best internet access we ever had. We can use all our devices with no problems. It works perfectly in the basement, inside the car in the driveway, and in the backyard. This update was definitely an upgrade!

Faster, and Easy Setup
Got this to replace an older nighthawk that was no longer supported by the company. Worried about vulnerabilities, we upgraded. Turns out it's much more stable and faster so far. Setup required patience, but not much else. 5/5 would hang out with this router again.

Very good if you dig into the settings.
The app on the phone is good enough for a regular home setup but if you dig in with your browser then you have all the advanced settings. Just wish the desktop GUI was more user friendly.
