It holds the door in place and it's cool looking. It's heavy enough, although leverage is what makes it work.

Item was a fun, additional Christmas gift for my husband. It looks great, even stylish, holding my bedroom door in place. Doorstop base is hollow - not solid - which may be why some posters find that it isn’t heavy enough to hold some doors open. It works great for us, as our bedroom is carpeted (so no sliding on a hardwood floor). We’re very happy with it!

My husband found these and we both agree that they a cool and fun and just the right amount of whimsey. We named our's Caleb (after Caleb's wife suggested it). Caleb is a little muscle man who doesn't act all... like... "I'm a muscle man." After you order yours, start thinking about what you're gonna name him (and why).

Needs the bottom of the base filled with something heavy just a little to light weight! I do like the design of it!!!

Best door stopper EVER. Very sturdy, very heavy and VERY cute! It's nice to add a touch of whimsy. Whoever thought I would smile from passing a door stopper??!!!

***** SCULPTURE I have no issues with the sculpture itself. It is well done. The color is as pictured on the Amazon product page. I purchased the “Strong Man” model. I modified the contrast on some of my attached photos so my descriptions will stand out, so the color may appear lighter in my photos. ***** MY DOOR This door stop is used on a very light weight painted white interior door. There is no stress on the door other than the wind sometimes blowing thru an open window which may cause the door to move a bit. The “hands” (photo 1) left black marks on the door which needed to be painted over with touch up paint. Photo 2 is a very closeup shot showing the marks. ***** FIX FOR MARKS ON DOOR I happened to have some small round felts pads with adhesive. I attached the pads to the sculpture's hands. See photos 7 and 8. ***** RUBBER FLOOR PROTECTOR PAD There are a couple major issues with this pad. The buyer is responsible for attaching the pad. It not installed at the factory. There is not much surface to stick the pad on. The widest surface is about 3/16 inches on the high part of the wedge and goes progressively narrower towards the low end of the wedge. Only three of the four sides have a surface area to attach the rubber pad. There is nothing on the far end of low part of wedge. See photos 3 and 4. Before attaching the rubber pad I made sure there was no dust or foreign material present before attaching. Due to the minimal surface area on the bottom as described above the pad consistently moves and has to be removed and pressed back into place. Most people will gently move a door stop with their foot, but this door stop can't handle it. The second issue is the surface area of pad is larger than the surface of the base. The exposed area of the pad will pick up dust, etc. See photos 5 and 6.

The sculptured shape is nice. Looks like the picture. The problem is, it doesn't work as a doorstop. There is a rubber mat under the doorstop intended to act as friction against the floor so the door doesn't move. That's what it's intended to do... hold the door shut BUT the rubber mat fell off a day after I bought it. Now it doesn't work at all. I love the look, but hate the functionality.

What a wonderful conversation door stop. Guests arriving to our home during the summer months always comment on him holding the door back. My front door is not that heavy so I cannot comment if sturdy enough for a real heavy door. Works for me and it is heavy.
