Hot+Cool™ AM09 Jet Focus heater and fan

So I was hesitant to purchase this heater/fan initially because of the high price tag but I will say that now that we have it in the house we are absolutely loving it. It is ideally suited for small spaces so we use it to keep our daughters’ bedroom warm during colder months. It does this job exceptionally well- the room stays perfectly comfortable without fear of overheating the girls due to the built in thermostat and the ability to adjust the fan power at a comfortably low setting. This is true for the cooling fan as well. Other fans we’ve used are loud and overpowering and need to be placed in front of a well ventilated area to push cold air out. The intensity of the fans make it too cold to keep on all night. Not so with this fan - again somehow this fan manages to have just the perfect settings so you can adjust it to be cool enough but not overpowering. And we can stick it in front of a wall and it still manages to push cold air out. It is also very safe because unlike other space heaters it does not get hot so you don’t have to worry about little ones burning themselves if they touch it. The things to consider about this unit are the following : it is not well suited for larger spaces like a large open living room- while it will heat the space it will not do it sufficiently enough to feel toasty warm like a larger unit would. It also can not be used as an air conditioning unit for larger spaces - the fan is very effective and does a good job of cooling you in a small space but it does not have a high intensity cooling system like AC units do. Essentially if you have a small space that you need to heat and cool comfortably then this will work well for you. I would say it is best used to heat or cool a child’s room because it is safe, quiet and not overly intense so you never have to worry that your child is too hot or too cold at night while they sleep. That being said as much as we love the unit (and it is really an exceptionally well made and high quality product) we did get it on sale and I’m not sure that we would have bought it at full price, as it is quite expensive for just being a simple fan and heater.

We had been using an inexpensive Delonghi ceramic space heater to take the chill off our dining room, but it was hard to program. This Dyson is very effective at heating the whole room. I actually have to turn it down some or it makes the room too warm. But the unit does not get too hot to the touch. I like the way it can be set for narrow stream, wide stream or oscillating. It is easy to clean the intake vent. The timer can be set for 15 minutes to 9 hours. We are looking forward to trying the fan setting without heat this summer. Only two cons: even on sale it is expensive; the remote controls all the functions so don't misplace it. I am very happy with this purchase!

I’m not sure why there are the negative reviews but I’ve been super happy after using it for several seasons. In the winter it’s great to warm my office, quiet enough for my conference calls but puts out good heat without being too much. Love that you can adjust the temperature. The cool function is not an A/C, it’s a fan only. But after running it on the lowest setting while I’m working my office is noticeably cooler esp when it’s 90+ degrees at night. Also love it for sleeping at night. It’s a cooling breeze without having my hair blow everywhere. If you leave it on and oscillating for days it will click, but as long as you occasionally give it a rest it’s very quiet. Happy enough with my purchase that I want a second so I don’t have to move it between rooms.

It’s been on continuously all summer and was sure nice to have last winter when our furnace wasn’t working.

I am extremely disappointed with the Dyson Hot+Cool AM09. From the very first time I plugged it in, it produced a strong and unpleasant plastic smell. This is completely unacceptable for a product in this price range. This is not the Dyson quality it used to be years ago, when the company was known for reliable vacuum cleaners and hair dryers. Unfortunately, it feels like the brand now relies more on its name than on actual product quality. I didn’t even get to properly use the unit. I simply plugged it in, noticed the strong plastic odor immediately, and decided it was not safe or comfortable to use. The item was absolutely brand new and returned in unused condition. What made the experience even worse is that the Dyson Store charged me a $153 return fee for returning a brand-new product. This is extremely disappointing and unfair. Based on my experience, I do not recommend buying Dyson products, especially directly from the Dyson Store.

This fan has been very convenient to use, thanks to the remote control and the magnetic holder on top, which keeps the remote within easy reach. Both the cooling and heating functions work well and provide a noticeable effect. The temperature control covers a decent amount of space and makes it comfortable in my room, though it’s not quite as wide as the product description suggests. It still performs well for personal or small-room use, but don’t expect it to heat or cool a large area. Overall, this is a practical and easy-to-use fan with both heating and cooling capabilities. The remote and magnetic holder add a nice touch, making it more convenient for everyday use.

This is my first time buying a Dyson. I have to say, I love this product. I wasn’t sure if I should buy this product after reading some of the reviews. I decided to give it a try and see for myself, I’m glad I did. It is worth the price if you want a heater/fan that is aesthetically pleasing as well as quality functionality. I like my electronics to blend in with the atmosphere of my home, rather than being a sore sight to the eyes. I received it very quickly, the design is beautiful without any flaws. It’s easy to set up and use. The dual functionality of the heater and the fan is good quality. I primarily use this for my bedroom and for my plants to keep them warm in the winter. The sound is still audible on higher settings, but it isn’t outrageous. This is a fan not an AC. For me and where I live, this fan does the trick. It projects the cool air that I’m comfortable with. I bought this for my bedroom that faces the south east and gets very cold even in the summer. The heater warms the room right up. I plan to move to a basement soon, so I’ll see how this heater does in that setting, I’m sure it will be fine. The transition from hot to cold runs smoothly. The rotation axis is fairly wide. I’m thoroughly satisfied with the quality of this heater / fan.

I bought this model in 2017 for our master bedroom. I wanted a quality fan that could heat and not run up the electric bill. After researching, I chose to spend a bit of extra money on the Dyson AM09. Our master bedroom sits right above the garage and during the winter, can be a little bit cooler that the rest of the house. After plugging the AM09 in, I had no problem figuring out how to use the heat. The cool fan button is blue and the heat is red on the remote. There is a temperature display on the front that lights up nicely and is easy to read both in daylight and darkness. We set the temperature at 70° and the fan runs all night. Great thing about this fan is it runs heat for a while and then cuts off the heat, so it's not continuously on. When the heat cuts off, the fan continues to run at the lowest speed setting barely creating a breeze. Once the heat kicks back on, fan speed increases back up to the level you set it at. There are 10 speed settings. This fan runs very quietly, so if you do not like a noisy fan, you might want to consider this one. This fan is not designed for large master bedrooms. It does take a little while for our room to heat up to 70¯. Our master is 16X18. We've run three winters with this model. No problems at report. Also, unlike some cheaper heater/fans, the housing surrounding the heating element has not warped or been damaged. The housing unit when the heat is on is not hot, unlike other companies heater/fans. So we just bought another AM09 a few weeks ago for my daughter. She loves it, we love ours, and I would recommend this model if you have the extra cash to spend.

I purchased this heater for a large sun-room that is quite cold in the winter months. It is a large space to heat but this does the job well. It's quiet and stylish. So quiet that I have sometimes forgotten to switch it off, although that can be solved with the timer feature. It provides a heat that does not dry out the atmosphere. The heater is well constructed and easy to move to a different location. It's not as cheap as some similar products but you get what you pay for.

Absolutely fantastic fan! Set up was super easy and quick, fan itself is very powerful both while cooling and heating. Sturdy build, but very easy to move around as it's not very heavy. High price tag but I think it is worth it.
