UPERFECT OLED Portable Monitor, 16" 3K 120Hz 0.1ms Portable Gaming Monitor

I purchased the portable monitor on October 13th and have used it for just over a month before an issue with the monitor screen appeared. I bought this to supplement my 27-inch Apple Studio Display. The 3K resolution was perfect for the Mac retina resolution as the 2880 x 1800 pixels are displayed as 900 x 1440 pixels with a 216 ppi vs. 218 ppi for the 27-inch Apple Studio Display. The display is sharp for both text and images. The color rendition was at par with my Studio Display when set to Display P3 color profile. Bonus is that you can have refresh rate as high as 120 Hz. The monitor is hooked up via a single USB-C cable to a Thunderbolt 4 dock USB-C socket (15W) for both data and power. I bought a separate VESA 75mm tabletop stand to mount the monitor and placed it next to the Studio Display. Set up looks better (and way cheaper) than buying a 32-inch 6K display (like ones from LG and of course, Apple). I mainly use the extended display for my Finder and for file navigation and management, with some widgets placed above the Finder. The first monitor I bought did have an issue with the screen having dark red large patches of pixelations at one corner. I contacted UPerfect directly since it was passed one month when I bought from Amazon. The customer service person responded very quickly and provided a UPS return postage to mail the monitor back. As soon as they received the defective monitor, a new one was sent via Amazon and received within 2 days. This new unit has been working fine with no issue with the screen, although I've only used this for a couple of weeks. Time will tell if I get the same issue or not. Overall I'm happy with the monitor (thin, light, retina resolution, easily powered by USB-C) and with customer service for quickly resolving the issue with the original unit. Highly recommended!

Firstly, this 3k screen looks absolutely beautiful, it looks better than my steam deck Oled screen too. It has great connectivity and can retain a image at or above 3k at 90% brightness but it often can go as high as 95% without interruption with my own smart-power charger. I use a 100W cord with a 80W smart charger to keep a great display, and while nearly all of these monitors are plagued by power/brightness issues... this one does a good job of keeping the image. I have had the occasional problems with 100% brightness, but 100% of the time it happened in a heated moment in my FPS games. The synchronization is phenomenal at the refresh rate of 120, which I found to be optimal for fast pace games running 60-120fps. I keep brightness at about 94% for most of my sessions, and keep high octane matches near 90% with NO ISSUES. My old 2k monitor would not function in an FPS above 82% brightness. The thing would just shut off and require me to turn it back on. This screen is merely a flicker when it needs the extra juice. (Again the brightness flickering from lack of power is a common problem across nearly all affordable portable screens, especially when it comes to gaming) The screen and display is astounding with a beautiful color/hue. I was running Clair Obscure 33 with it on ultra setting and It was more stunning than my 4K monitor, not to mention a smaller screen has way better rendering capabilities than a Xtra Wide Screen due to frame generation being lower. It’s a win win I’d recommend this screen as a good competitor in a competitive growing market. I’ve been very happy with my selection so far and will update this review with images and my opinions whether they grow or change in the future. Note: does not come with a female adapter mini-hdmi to male-hdmi. But has other connectors. Comes with a thin flip case that doubles as a stand 5/5

Use Case: I'm using this monitor as a second, OLED, monitor for my 14" MacBook Pro (mbp). The monitor is a near-ideal size for placing above my mbp on a telescoping stand. This allows for me to use my mbp camera and still appear as if I'm staring at the camera, instead of looking down/away. The monitor fits nicely in the same size travel bags as my mbp. Another option is to place the monitor on top of the mbp keyboard/trackpad, when using external keyboard/mouse/trackpad. The replacement monitor, see "Caveat", runs well at 120 Hz with HDR and either the full 3880x1800 or HiDPI (1440x900). Just make sure you're using quality USB4 with data and power delivery. Caveat: The first monitor I received produced a noise--especially when gaming--at idle that was quite annoying, also it wouldn't run @120 Hz with HDR and full 3k res--only offering 100 Hz (on USB-C cable) in macOS Tahoe. After speaking with customer support, they were extremely helpful, and prompt--considering time delay from HK to the US, in resolving, sending out a replacement monitor quickly, and providing a return shipping label for the initial monitor. Pros: - Great size and weight for maximum portability without compromising on quality. - Fits in existing 14" laptop bags. - Good quality OLED panel supporting 120Hz (S/HDR) at 3k or HiDPI 3k. - Games, albeit on my mbp, look good and smooth @ 120 Hz. - The built-in stand is only 2-3" wide in the middle, instead of on the edges, which a lot of portable monitors have. In-betwixt: - Speakers are there, but nothing to "write home about", which is to kind of be expected. - Use of micro HDMI, instead of full sized HDMI slot, but would have added thickness. - Reduced to 100 Hz when using HDMI (can be mitigated by using USB-C). - Will default to 20% Brightness if there's not a enough power delivery to the monitor, i.e. insufficient power delivery cable from laptop to monitor. Cons: - There's noise at idle from the fans venting at the bottom; the noise can increase to more of a coil whine noise when playing games. May not be an issue for others, but something to keep in mind. - HDR, in macOS Tahoe is a little too white/washed out for me, but perhaps I was missing something in the settings to correct. - A little pricey, but, currently, not many other options for these specs. I cannot, in good conscience, give this monitor a 5-star rating, due to the noise issue I experienced. I feel this a personal concern that many others will not have, or even notice. UPERFECT's support has been extremely responsive, helpful, and accommodating throughout this process. If you're highly sensitive to specific frequencies, then maybe look elsewhere, or take a chance; however, if you're not, there's not a better option, for these requirements, on the market, right now. I've decided to keep mine--doing my best to ignore/wash out the noise--as it works great otherwise.

This is a great little monitor for either work or personal travel, or when you need just a bit more real estate than what your laptop screen provides. It’s super light and thin, comes with the power adapter, USB-C cable, and HDMI cable. It sets up really quickly and I appreciate that the fold out stand is metal instead of plastic. The colors are very vibrant and bright and look great, especially for such a small monitor. Overall I would recommend especially if you’re looking for a lightweight monitor to pack with your laptop for work or personal travel. I will also add that I have worked with UPerfect customer support on a different monitor that I purchased from them and found their support to be very helpful and customer focused.

About eight years ago, I purchased a Uperfect monitor to use with my old laptop and it lasted for over seven years. It was a high quality product and I never had any problem with it. So, when it came time to purchase an external monitor to use with my new gaming laptop, I immediately checked out Uperfect's products. This monitor is exactly what I was looking for. Beautiful high quality OLED screen. Good sound and volume - perhaps not the best, but still very good quality for an external monitor. A high enough refresh rate to work with my 4090 GTX custom laptop so I can enjoy my games without any frame rate stutters. Every game I've played on it from FF9 with Moguri, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, RE4, and Lempo looks utterly gorgeous. There's no better way to describe it than that - gorgeous. Now, I'll be honest. The first monitor I received from Uperfect had some issues. After a couple weeks, I noticed it would shut down without warning, even when I had it plugged into both my laptop and an external power source. I hoped it was just a fluke, but the problem continued and got worse. So, I reached out to Uperfect about a replacement and they were happy to help. Well, before I could follow through on my end and send back the defective monitor, I found out that my father had an 80% blockage in his heart and needed open heart surgery. The following few months were filled with countless appointments, the eventual surgery, recovery etc. As a result, things like replacing an external monitor fell to the wayside. Once my father was doing better, I started having some free time to game again and tried the defective monitor in the hopes that I could still use it since the 30 return window was long since passed. Unfortunately, new issues arose. After playing for a while, I would experience the green screen of death. I could still hear the sound, but the screen was just a dark green. I had to unplug and plug the monitor back in again to fix the problem. It started happening more often and finally, it was happening after just a few minutes of gaming, essentially rendering the monitor useless. I reached out to Uperfect again and explained the situation - what happened with my father and the fact that the monitor was essentially dead despite it being less than five months old. To my surprise and my delight, they were still willing to help me. I just sent the defective monitor back a few days ago and a new one is on the way. For this reason alone, I believe that Uperfect deserves 5 stars. They make quality products, I just ended up with a lemon, but it's their willingness to help out, even past the 30 day return window, that sets them apart. You can purchase their products with full confidence that you're going to get a great product and, on the off chance you get a lemon, they'll be willing to help out and put their customers first. Five stars across the board for Uperfect!

I ordered this monitor as a secondary setup for my switch 2 and a dual monitor setup for my laptop. When the monitor arrived I was experiencing some issues with it so I contacted uperfect support and to my surprise their are pretty attentive and responsive which I think is great. They got all the details and offered to replace my defective device. I have now my replacement and its working flawlesly. The setup is pretty straightforward and easy. The screen size I feel is great. The picture quality in terms of resolution is great and sharp and colors from the OLED screen just pop. The device definetly feels premium. The packaging is great so rest assured they take care of making sure the screen is protected while on transit. The box includes pretty much everything you need for connectivity with devices. It comes with two usb type-c to type-c and one for HDMI. I will definitely recommend this device because the performance I feel its unbeatable for the price and the cherry on top is their great customer service in case you need it. The manual says they offer 30 days money back and 90 days replacements with 12 months warranty for any issues to ensure peace of mind.

UPDATE TO 3 STARS: UPERFECT Customer Service proactively reached out to me to help assist with the monitor and settings. Overall, my opinions on the monitor itself remain the same, but UPERFECT's CS team worked to go above and beyond to ensure that I was given the proper product support to the best of their ability. I would say that even if the brand's product doesn't hit the mark, their dedication to providing top level customer support does. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Incredibly disappointed with this portable monitor and the quality controls (or lack thereof). I was very excited to receive this 16" OLED as an upgrade to a 5 year old workhorse 1080p portable monitor I have, but the excitement quickly faded when I opened the package. When plugged in and powered up properly, the screen on the monitor was completely dead. I went through several troubleshooting efforts using all of the U"PERFECT" cables supplied in the box, my own cables, both the included and separate power supplies, and while there were indicators that the monitor was powering on and was being recognized as a separate screen, there was no display on the monitor itself. Even though I spent what seemed like an unreasonable amount of time troubleshooting what I strongly suspected to be a dead screen, I was still hopeful I would see that bright OLED screen pop to life at some point. Unfortunately, nothing. I requested an exchange (through Amazon) for a replacement monitor, which was promptly shipped and received. Again, filled with anticipation, I got everything setup and plugged in and this time I was rewarded with the unmistakably bright clarity and glow of the OLED panel. The display was incredible out of the box; colors and contrast sharp, clear, and beautiful. However, after less than an hour of getting the settings dialed in exactly how I wanted them the screen suddenly went dead and simply wouldn't come back to life. I was left, once again, going through the same, plus more troubleshooting this time, thinking that it was maybe something on my end, but in the end it was definitely on the way less than perfect UPERFECT monitor's side. In addition to the panel issues, the settings menu and interface on this monitor is clunky and frustrating, with unintuitive button pushes required to navigate the menu options. A couple of times I found that I would accidentally power the monitor off due to hitting the wrong button, which is exactly the same size and located directly above one of the toggle buttons used to navigate the settings menu. Comparatively my old portable monitor has a much better interface than this "upgrade". In the end I'm very disappointed with the fact that both monitors I received showed quality control issues. I've not dealt with the UPERFECT brand in the past, but have heard good things, even outside of the Amazon product reviews. However, I would be highly reluctant to recommend the UPERFECT brand's products in any capacity at this point. In fairness to the brand themselves, I did not work with their customer service team, which I do understand to be subjectively good. However, in my case, I can't imagine that outside of sending another (expensive) replacement monitor that may or may not fail within their warranty period, it's worth the back and forth of receiving what's been proven to be a less-than-perfect product, especially for the price.
