This thing is absolutely amazing!! But when I first got it I’m not gonna lie I almost returned it because I’m not the best when it comes to computer tech. Unfortunately this doesn’t come set up out of the box correctly or with games. It takes some time to watch videos and figure out how to properly set up emulators. It’s a lot to take in at first if you aren’t tech savvy. But man am I glad I stuck it out and figured things out. Absolutely amazing system I’ve been constantly downloading everything! Being able to get GameCube and PS2 games and everything between is so cool. FYI a lot of videos you will find explain how you download roms and put them on SD card and then transfer. This thing is a computer itself you can download straight from google and transfer the files to the proper folder afterwards and bam you got a new game. It’s super easy once you finally figure it out so don’t give up! LOVE IT

It's awesome since I got the games to show up. I had to insert the included card, then press and hold X on the main game page. I had to put most of the games on myself. Really tricky to set up, but SO worth it. Most of the games I tried ran great, and the battery life is wonderful! The screen is of good quality, and I've dropped it twice with no problems.

I have been looking for something that can play N64, Dreamcast and PS2 games. I have a retro pie but it never could play these. After reading all the reviews I decided to spend the extra cash for something I hoped would play these games. Looks like I made a good decision. This thing is great. It come with some preloaded games, but not any Nintendo games, you will have to get them yourself but it is pretty easy. I have loaded quite a few games on it and so far it runs them great. I have a pair of Xreal glasses that I use with them to give me a big screen experience. This is one seriously good value for the money. I have had it for about a month and am loving it. You won't regret buying this one.

UPDATE: Upgraded from 1 Star to 4 Stars. I eventually got my exchange after nearly a month of dealing with delayed shipping. The seller reached out to me and initially offered a full refund, but before I could respond, they changed their offer to a 30% refund or a replacement part. I pointed out to them that they changed their offer, but that I would accept the partial 30% refund. Instead they honered their initial offer of a full refund. The Seller YANGMINGYU is a VERY GOOD SELLER. They took responsiblity for the missing part and the shipping/exchange hassle (which wasn't directly their fault, but it was the fault of the host of this website and I can't mention their name here or the review won't get posed, but you know...it's the name of this site). I STRONGLY reccomend YANGMINGYU as a seller if you're considering a retro handheld. They are hard to get a hold of but when you do, they'll do whatever is necessary to correct issues. THE ORIGINAL REVIEW IS BELOW: TDLR: It is a great item, but I couldn't play it or keep it due to a missing component and I couldn't get a replacement part from ANYONE without sending the entire unit back. Amaze-a-zon made a full 3 course meal out of the process and I'm still waiting for my replacement. What a disappointment. This item came OUT OF THE BOX with a missing right joystick cap! The item seems to work perfectly otherwise and that's the shame of it. I spent some time playing with it to see if I'd even like to keep it and I did! The performance is amazing and it is the most powerful vertical handheld emulator currently out. The missing joystick....what to do. Easy, I think. I'll contact the manufacturer (Anbernic) directly and request a replacement. Nope. Anbernic doesn't care unless you purchase it DIRECTLY from them on their sketch website. SO Anbernic buyers beware of that. You're on your own even if your device is new and under warranty. Anbernic will tell you to go pound sand! Still...not really a big deal, right? I'll contact the seller on Amaze-a-zon and get a replacement from them. NOPE! Since the item was SHIPPED BY Amaze-a-zon, the only option I have is to talk to the Amaze-a-zon ROBOT via chat and the robot doesn't care and the only option it gives is to exchange the item. Okay...okay...now I'm being worn down to a nub here. I process the exchange, only to be confronted with the fact that the item is not in stock and the exchange date is now 30 days out. My exchange is likely coming direct from China. Whatever....I'm over it. I do the exchange and settle in. The original item is dropped off at Kohls. I keep checking on the item over the next couple weeks only to find about 1.5 weeks in that the item is BACK IN STOCK with a ship date that is only ONE DAY away from me. I call Amaze-a-zon customer service. Brace yourself.....THEY DON'T CARE and won't do anything about it. Wait a couple more weeks they say....it'll show up (never mind the fact that if I ordered another one now it would be here the next day). Whatever... Now I'm super over it. Now...just a few days ago (3 weeks in on this), I get a shipping notification! YAY! As of this writing, it was supposed to be here today and now I'm at home after work and now see a notice that the shipping is now delayed and they're EXPECTING it to be here tomorrow. I'm not holding my breath. Amaze-a-zon wanted me to review this item. Well I have now. Also, I get it....first world entitlement whining here, right?

I've had my 406v for a year now and it has been the worst piece of tech I've ever owned. Within a few months of owning it, I've had screen flickering and ghosting constantly. The device itself is also shockingly heavy with incredibly poor ergonomics, so don't count on being able to hold it comfortably for periods longer than a single minute. The included SD card corrupted after a few months as well. And the screen is barely secured by anything, multiple times now when I've dropped the device the screen has fallen out, supported only by it's ribbon cables. Sadly my time for refunds or returns has long passed, so I'm stuck with the damn thing. And the price is absurd, given the other available options at this point. This thing can barely play ps2 games, yet is being sold for a price that should be able to play much more intense stuff than ps2 emulation.

This is a great handheld to play retro games from the days when games were produced with a focus on fun. The unit is very powerful and the customization options can be a little overwhelming as to where to start. You can find some dedicated groups on the internet to help, but be warned, you could possibly spend more time on the set up rather than playing the actual games. Most import to note is that the seller will assist you when you have any issues. There was an item missing from my original order and when I contacted them, they immediately had their warehouse send it out. For me, this is the most important aspect when purchasing a gaming device where the set-up is primarily on the purchaser. I hope this helps anyone deciding on whether to purchase or not.
