It is greasy but not as greasy as pure white paraffin (for example a certain popular brand of petroleum jelly) products available, this one requires warming in my hands as it is thick out of the tub and can drag on my skin. But it melts within a few seconds to a very soft almost liquid texture. It feels quite heavy on my skin but it's very effectivd and i get through a lot of it when my eczema is particularly bad. I put it over a prescription emollient cream, sometimes just a small area, sometimes all over my body. I just wish this came with some kind of spatula included, as with eczema it's particularly important to minimise the risks of contaminating ointments (and other products) by washing your hands thoroughly before opening and using a clean spatula or spoon etc to get the right amount of product out of the tub. Then washing the spatula properly after every application. I have previously had a skin infection due to contamination of an ointment (this had been used by another person years ago and they clearly weren't careful enough) so i know how horrible that can be.
