Amazing lens for street photography, portrait and closer shots. Quality and construction of this lens is very good and on par with more expensive products. Highly recommend this lens - Works well with iPhone 17 Pro Max.

I briefly owned this lens, was giving amazing bokeh for portraits but the poor Neewer cage back plate locking mechanism could not hold on to the weight of this lens as it fell off while I was visiting a national park (with the backplate). Lens is very heavy hence reducing a star and it might seem as defeat the purpose of mobile photography with such heavy/huge gear. Image quality was very good for portrait, edge is a bit soft not that great.

Incredibly overpriced for the quality obtained. Soft away from centre, and very soft with aberration in corners. A 2x digital crop will be better, and cheaper than this. Oh and it's also very heavy and very big. Very disappointed given the price

Bought it for iPhone 16 Pro Max for fun to see if it could improve background separation. TLDR: not noticeably. Pros: - well built (all-metal casing). - smart protective carry case. - 1x camera did actually still function. Cons: - absolutely massive. - very heavy (heavier than the phone in a case). - auto-focus hunting issues. - long minimum focus distance. - fiddly to attach. - difficult to handle once attached because of the weight. - you'll need to rig out your phone in a cage and handles to make handling more stable, or lock it off on a tripod. - only works on 1x camera (not macro, 2x, or 5x). - camera switching functions no longer work. - worse stabilisation than native 5x zoom lens. Conclusion: By the time you have all the kit to make it useful - cage kit with handles, lens, filters - you're almost at the price of a second-hand Sony APS-C camera (and you'll still be able to use your phone normally).

This lens isn't suitable for the Galaxy S25 Ultra as it blocks the auto focus sensor. Manual focus is very difficult even on a tripod and the images are very soft with strong chromatic aberration.

I don't normally writer reviews, but I'd been waiting for Neewer to make a lens like this since January of this year (2024) when I purchased their 60mm telephoto lens and was blown away. It gave me beautiful shallow depth of field, but I wanted more. And when I saw this product was available I immediately purchased the last one in stock and I'm so happy I did. I've attached a semi-graded screenshot of a scene I filmed for a client last week. Look at the beautiful separation of the subject from the nearby background! It's a dream. I was giddy on set the whole day! I got a VND to filter out the excess light, and overall this lens and its cage (which I had already purchased) have absolutely changed the game for me. I have creator friends who constantly ask me about my setup because their cinema cameras are so heavy and need to be rigged out. But with an iPhone 15 Pro Max, you already have a big screen and don't need to buy an external monitor, not to mention you can screenmirror to a laptop (with a lag, but oh well) and you can be super light on your feet and film literally anywhere without being disruptive! It’s super difficult to use with the iPhone max pro. I really don’t recommend it. It’s good quality obviously, but it’s possible to take good pictures.

Lens good in portrait video / photos. You need to turn off auto focus so it wont blur. You also need to check your focal point so the image will be sharp. But all in all. Nice piece of lens
