Not for the theologically minded...
The illustrations are sweet but honestly, I’m afraid I would be returning this book if the return shipping cost were not half the book’s price. I really wanted a book that would help me explain the true meaning of Christmas to my son, a 2 1/2 year-old. The book started out promising, but unfortunately devolved into a a theologically mushy story line. The animals all bring gifts to give to Jesus on his birthday; the gifts are labeled with tags that say mercy, joy, peace. The littlest bunny gives a gift with the label love. But when Jesus is the embodiment of peace, mercy, grace, love, etc. why would he need those given to him as gifts? Also, it implies that Jesus needs something from us which He does not. Towards the end of the book it states “We love Jesus because He first loved us. Love is the whole reason Jesus was born!” Well, yes, but how did Jesus show that love to us? By giving up his life for us sinners. And really, I think it would be more accurate to refer to God the father‘s love for us as to why he sent his son. One might argue that a book need not be that in-depth for a two-year-old but I know that my son understands more than what he can communicate. Even if he doesn’t understand something I want him to hear the words and message consistent with a sound biblical worldview. Finally, my son has had no interest in returning to read the book. And he is a boy who enjoys his stories. So, even if the theology is not that important to you, at least for my son, it hasn’t registered in his mind as one of his favorites. That’s not to say it never will, we often discovered after a couple months he’s warmed up to a different book that he wasn’t interested in before but I’m afraid it’s one more nail in the coffin as far as this book is concerned for us.

A Very Sweet Book
I’m really happy I got this book to add to our advent celebrations. I am teaching my 4 year old the true meaning of Christmas. He knows that Santa is pretend (like Daniel Tiger and all the other cartoon, talking animals). He knows that Christmas is Jesus’ birthday. Thus, he has been thinking of things he wants to do to celebrate Jesus’ birthday. I bought this book to let him know, he’s on the right track regarding his desire to celebrate Jesus’ birthday.A very cute story about a bunny who sincerely wants to know what gift he should get Jesus for his birthday. The gift he and his other animal friends gave Jesus were perfect and I’m sure Jesus was pleased with them.If you’re teaching your children the true meaning of Christmas, this book would make a good addition to your advent celebrations.

CHRISTMAS BOOK
sorry to be late in reviewing this book that we gave as a gift on this Christmas, but it is early enough now to plan for Christmas 2021. It is a perfect story of what and WHO is the true meaning of Christmas. It's not preachy but instead of how the animals plan a party for Jesus.

So cute!!
This is such a super cute book! It reads in the perspective of a child (or small bunny) and the little bunny wonders what gift to give Jesus. Instead of presents, he learns characteristics that Jesus would love, like Faith, Hope, Honesty, etc. Little bunny brings his own gift of Love and learns that love is the best gift of Christmas and it is God's love overflowing that brought Jesus into the world. Such a great book for kids!! I love this book as much as my daughter does.

The birth of Jesus and the present of love.
One of the loveliest book about the birth of Jesus. Appealing and written in a manner in which a toddler could relate. Even toddlers can understand the joy of birthdays and the presents received. In this book the present is love.Cute illustrations of animals.
