Update: It looks like they removed mention of the NSF 53 certification. Not sure what that means. Water through these still taste better than any other filters we've tried; however, the past few would not connect to our filter connector ruining the filter threading for three of them. It's a MUCH tighter fit than other brands. I've since disassembled the housing/connector and found the it dislodged the connector and was not seating correctly. after resolving that, they seem to work again. I researched the NSF certification claims, and found them to be truly certified. I also discovered the same chinese company makes almost all the 53 + 42 certified filters on the market, lol. The price was amazing, the water quality is excellent (tastes better than my Costco bottled water!), and it just works. Our non-functioning ice maker even works now, inexplicably. Before finding this, we were using the recommended 3rd party Water Sentinel filter not knowing it was only NSF 42 certified, and the water tasted so bad (plastic and chemical flavor) that we hadn't used the refrigerator for water in over a year. NOW, we can stop buying bottled water. So happy, I bought enough to last a few years.

These filters seem to do the job. They fit as indicated with no leaks. The external build quality seems to be fine and has no defects or bad plastic joints/welds. But don't be fooled by the NSF 42 and 372 ratings. The 42, is true enough and is a rating for removal of Cl. However, the 372 rating has nothing to do about whether it filters lead or not. That rating is merely a rating stating that the product ITSELF is lead free. What you really are looking for are NSF 53 ratings on filters, however you may never find one that isn't the expensive "name brand" Samsung or the like. That is because the NSF 53 is a whole "system" rating and Samsung is unlikely to allow third parties to test on their systems when they can over charge you for the "GENUINE SAMSUNG FILTER". That being said I have no complaints with this filter but just want everyone to be aware that it is not certified to remove lead by NSF. Of course if this uses the high quality carbon like it says it does, then it would filter the lead as you probably wanted. If lead is your major concern the only way to go is NSF 53 on the pitcher or spin on faucet types...those work and have the cert. My personal choice is that I drink the water filtered by this for myself...however I take the water filtered by this and put it through another "pitcher" filter for my daughter when I have to make formula, why take the chance on developing bodies when I have both I figure.

What a great buy from Amazon for 3-pack. Our family needs this filter for our LG fridge all year round. Here are some of the pros and cons: Pros: -Easy to install, just swap out the old one and replace the new one. It's best to place a container underneath the new filter for a day or so until the water pressure builds up. Until then, some water will drip under the new filter. -We found the filtration to be pretty decent for the price because water coming out of our fridge is oderless and tasteless Cons: None -

I used this filter to replace a Samsung Aqua Pure filter. The Samsung was NSF 42 certified. This one apparently is also NSF 53 and 372 certified, so it filters additional chemical and biological content. I had no issues with leaks or installation. It comes with an indicator that you can activate to show all red when the filter's time is up (the fridge also has a reminder feature). Water taste is good and the flow rate was as expected. I had no sediments coming out during the initial purge. The model number printed on the box and the filter matches the certification data at NSF's site when you type in MB-00003G-P. The certification is for HongKong Ecoaqua Co., Limited / Qingdao. Beyond this, it is not possible to say that MaxBlue is indeed marketing this filter. Just have to trust it, and currently don't have a reason not to.
