Zojirushi Stainless Steel Travel Mug, 16-Ounce/0.48-Liter

This little 12oz option is pretty amazing! So small it doesn’t seem like it fits 12oz but does and keeps it super hot when being poured from a Kuerig which fits perfectly on the Mini models once you remove the drip tray. The twist off top work nicely, but I’m not sure about all of the busyness it’s got going on underneath the very slim top cap that peels off. I think the other model comes with a tea strainer but not sure, other than keeping thing spill proof, what all of the inside components are for since it would seem that twisting off the main top should just be a solid piece. I may have to read the relatively LARGE set of instructions that comes along with this nifty thermos. Either way, would definitely recommend if you want a totally lightweight option that’s small and keeps your beverage hot throughout the day!

Excellent quality product. It keeps water warm overnight, which is especially helpful during cold winter months. Easy to clean and use. Highly recommended.

I've had this mug for 18 months and use it every day. It does an incredible job of keeping coffee hot; after four hours it can still be too hot. And it is remarkably slim, I had to measure the quantity it holds to believe it has the same capacity of my old bulky mug. So: great coffee mug. Recently, though, it has started to leak. Not through the seal where the lid attaches, but through the lid itself. The lid is made up of three parts, for reasons I've never understood. There's the screw-on section (the largest part), a removable seal arrangement, and a cap that clips on top. Perhaps it's to facilitate cleaning? It seemed needlessly complex when I bought it, and still does. It also looked like a source of probable leaks, which has turned out to be the case. So now after a year, the seals to the cap have worn a bit. When I screw the lid on, the increased air pressure inside forces coffee through the seals and into the voids within the cap. From there, it slowly leaks out and on to my hand and clothing. Wiping it clean doesn't work, as it keeps coming out. I have to disassemble the top and mop up the coffee in there, every time I use it. If only they'd made the top in one part, the mug would not leak, because the 'primary' seal (the thread where the lid screws on) is fine. You could still clean the top by immersing it in water. But the needlessly complex three-part lid is the weakness.

I own both this version and the flip-top version of this. They both keep the temperature of the contents quite well; however this one has less parts to keep clean and is easier to clean. Also, if you transport soups in these you're more likely to store chunky soups in this one. While you can unscrew the flip-top one too, this one comes with a mouth-friendly plastic piece that covers the top metal edge of the container. This is a 2-piece design, when you want to drink out of it you will need to screw the top. This means you have to hold (or put down somewhere) the top while you consume. In contrast the flip-top you just flip it open and the top stays attached to the container. But then as for the flip-top I found that I was hitting my nose right on the part of the top that was covering the hole to the container and since it always had a drop of liquid on it always wound up on my nose unless I either tip my head back further or suck on the top (which in of itself felt weird to do). Anyways back to the 2-piece product... its opening is relatively the same size as a flute-type glass (think champagne), which tends to make your head tilt back since the far edge will hit your nose. If you're washing the top just before filling it up be sure to shake the excess water out of the top or it may appear to leak but not really it's just excess water coming out from the other side of the outer part of the top. If you aren't Japanese about keeping your mug clean you may be giving a chance for it to become gummed-up and gross. If you don't abuse it during use the seals will last long enough to just buy another mug when they wear out, years down the road. Look for the Zojirushi logo and quality control sticker on the bottom. The inside of the mug is highly polished as well. Don't accept any substitute.

As always expect this brand really do deliver the best quality product: water bottle. I use it year round. This is my 3rd one. I have a pink, hot pink and black one in different sizes. Keep content warm up to 4 hours outside at 34 F without loosing any heat. Cold brew usually 5 hours in hot summer day. Fits into any car cup holders very universal for mommies.

Put hot water in it before I go to sleep. 10 gotta late when I wake up, it is still warm. Great quality and easy to clean. I love talking it with me when I travel.

First off, I've used other Zojirushi products & have typically been a fan of their well insulated thermos collection and food jars. Overall this company makes good (not cheap), durable products. We had to replace a couple of our damaged travel mugs & this one was on sale. I get why now. There are too many components that only serve the function of keeping your beverage hot/cold, plus there's no flip-top lid to drink out of. Instead, you have to unscrew the head piece and drink from the canister (think of a slim Hydroflask). It's confusing because the head piece is composed of a lid of its own. It opens up to what appears to be a mouth piece and you'd think you could sip from the travel mug from there but you can't. Everything remains sealed in until you unscrew the head piece itself. It's not well explanatory in the enclosed instructions as the text was all in Japanese and there was no English translation provided. Considering this is a first of a handful of purchases I've made from this company, I'm going to let this one slide. But I do recommend looking into their other travel mugs first.

UPDATE: I emailed them with the photo you see here, they asked for a copy of the Amazon receipt (I presume to confirm date-of-purchase) and they said: "As a 1-time courtesy" they would send me a replacement stopper. Which they did. I wasn't so happy with the tone of the email "as a 1-time courtesy" but nevertheless, they did send a replacement. It works wonderfully now. I have ended up buying 14 different Zojirushi thermoses (I use two per day - one for coffee and one for herbal tea) in two styles -- ones like the one here and ones with the flip-up lid. I prefer the latter, but in professional meetings, tilting my head back with a thermos sticking in the air looks a little awkward, so I got 2 sets of these, with the screw-off top so I can drink out of it the same way one would drink out of a mug. I get extra sets because sometimes I am so busy I am not able to wash them thoroughly right away and I want fresh ones for the next day. These are just amazing thermoses overall. ````````````````````````````````````` One of the rubber stoppers split in two second time removed. Company does not provide any warranty on them. Required to buy whole new top unit for half the price of the thermos or toss brand new thermos. I sent them pictures. Don't know what they are going to do. Too bad. Loved the Zojorushi thermal mugs. Bought 14 of various models. Now I regret.

Wow. This is the best tumbler I've owned and I've had many over the years. There's an interesting contraption with the lid - I think it contributes to the vacuum tight seal this travel mug has. The finish is great, I've had people compliment me on the matte look of the mug. It fits into my car's cup holder with ease, and it's not one of the big kinds either! Keeps beverages hot for HOURS. Only thing is, you do need to completely unscrew the lid to drink from the mug. I've never tested it's spillproof-ness, but from what I can tell it's a really secure fit. Like others complain about their travel mugs, the porous materials (rubber, silicone gaskets) tend to absorb the smell of the liquid, so there's a mild coffee odour - even when it's super clean. If you plan on using it for various drinks, this may be a drawback. But that's in coffee's nature, I guess. All in all, very happy with this mug. I've used it for years and will try to keep it going as long as I can.

To say it is a travel mug is pushing the limits. It's really a flask because once opened there is a chance it could spill. Needs two hands to remove/replace top and no quick way to open close. But if you're wanting a flask to take your coffee to work then it would be perfect. You just really can't drive with it.

Another excellent Zojirushi product. The matte finish is lovely, definitely has a very premium look and feel to it. My mother, who I bought this for, prefers the open mouth of this flask for tea drinking. As with other Zojirushi products I have bought, this flask has impeccable insulating properties, and does not leak.

Es muy compacto y cabe en bolsas y mochilas con facilidad. La limpieza es lenta porque hay que desarmar cuidando que todos los empaques estén limpios y secos antes de volver a armar, pero para mi no es problema porque cumple de maravilla con su función.
