Bought the imoo Z1 Smart watch as a Christmas gift for my school-age child and loving all the features. It's perfect for peace of mind during the daily school run. The GPS tracking seems quite accurate and the voice/video calling feature is quite useful to stay connected while giving him some independence without the distraction of a smartphone. The class mode is brilliant, automatically silencing the watch during school hours to ensure no disruption. Also appreciate the ability to restrict unknown numbers to authorised family members only (a great bonus). Setup was simple (though clearer instructions would be a plus). It tested perfectly and provides all the safety features we were looking for. Highly recommend it. I’ll update after Christmas when it gets a full use, but so far, so great.

It only supports 2.4 GHz WiFi, which might be limiting depending on your home network. Occasionally, the watch has trouble detecting the SIM card, which can block the screen until it’s restarted. Battery life is decent—typically needing a recharge every two days. Despite a few small quirks, it’s a reliable and well-designed smartwatch that gives both kids and parents peace of mind..

We purchased this for our 6 year old son who has recently been allowed a little more freedom, playing outside with his friends. This watch offers the reassurance that you can stay in contact with your child (and vice versa) with either text, voice call or video call. The watch also offers the ability to track your child's current location using GPS. To utilise all functions, you will need to purchase an additional SIM only plan from a third party mobile provider. We personally went with Lebara on a £5 p/m plan. This is a 5GB plan and has proved to be more than enough. Functionality wise, the texts and calls work absolutely no problem. The GPS is less reliable. We have had a few instances where it either won't load and show a location, or shows the wrong location. I must note that this is not a regular occurrence though. On the whole we have been very happy with the watch and it has proven to be mostly effective in it's intended purpose.

I didn’t want to buy a mobile phone for my 10 year old and I did a lot of research. Kids get independent and they need means of communication with parents. This is the best alternative to being connected without the internet safety issues. I am sure I am not alone on this! This watch allows video calls, text and audio messages and has a school mode that you can pre-scheduled. It also has a few games, a camera, steps count and a gps locator so you know where your child is at all times. As the administrator, you add friends and block other numbers you don’t recognise. If other friends have the watch, it is fun and easy to pair both watches and have them as a contact. It is a live saver and makes us feel secure when my son is walking to or back from school. I recommend it to any parent!
