You will need to purchase at least 2 panels for a single window, but adding additional panels will create more sunblock. **Q: Does one order include one or two panels?** A: 1 panel, as stated in the description. **Q: What's the fabric like?** A: The texture varies. Some are basic, boring weaves and some are more "girly" with squiggle detail thrown in. I don't remember what the material is made of, but the fabric of this particular curtain is not enough to block out light on its own - the foam backing is definitely necessary for that. But I posted in my review that the foam is a con to this product when it comes to washing. You have to be insanely careful. Wash cold with little detergent and with liquid fabric softener. That later tip I learned only after I had shredded 2 different sets :-/ **Q: Is the length or width 42 inches?** A: The width is 42 inches. the Length is 84 inches.
