There's also the version of you that buys an OMRON and actually checks — the one who decided that knowing is better than guessing when it comes to what's happening inside your chest. That version is smarter, and he has better data. The OMRON Silver is no-nonsense in the best way. Wrap the cuff, sit still, press the button, and thirty seconds later you have actual numbers — not an approximation, not a vibe, not a nurse telling you to relax while you're actively not relaxed. Real readings you can track, compare, and bring to your doctor instead of shrugging and saying it seemed okay. The large display is easy to read, the memory stores multiple readings, and the whole thing takes less effort than convincing yourself you don't need it. I like that this device is dead simple to use. The app that corresponds to the monitor works well once you set it up. I like that it syncs with apple healthkit so that all of my readings are in one place. That was a critical feature for me and I’m glad that it works well. Now all of my readings are in 3 different places: The device itself, the Omron app, and the Apple Health app. Apple health syncing makes it easy to send all of my vitals recorded from different devices to my doctor in one report. That’s why it was so important to me that this worked with what I’m currently using. Battery life seems to be decent as I have been taking readings consistently for the past few months and I recently started seeing the low battery icon this week. I wish the screen on the device had a backlight to read in a darker room. I do like that the readings are large on screen and easy to read in a bright room. When in less than ideal lighting conditions, you can always use your phone to read your results in the app. I bought this one to replace a BP cuff that couldn’t sync to Apple Healthkit. The measurements between the two devices are pretty close to one another, so I feel confident about the accuracy of the readings. I also wish this came with the AC power adapter so you could plug it in instead of using batteries. You have to buy that separately, which is what I’m going to do because batteries are very expensive these days. The adapter will pay for itself over time. I just think it should’ve been included. Also, the travel bag is very thin and cheap and doesn’t offer any protection from bumps or drops, but it keeps the cuff and the monitor in one place. Overall, this is a decent BP monitor with bluetooth features and Apple Healthkit compatibility. I wish it were cheaper, came with the AC adapter included, had a backlight, and had a better quality travel bag. The benefits outweigh the drawbacks though.

I love my new blood pressure monitor! It was very easy to pair the monitor with my phone. The monitor comes with an auto-inflate cuff. It makes it so easy to get an accurate reading. The monitor also has an app to store all my blood pressure readings. I was hesitant at first because of the cost but it is worth the price. I highly recommend this blood pressure monitor.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS MODEL/BRAND!! BUYER BEWARE!! As I write this review, I am on a call with Omron customer support. I have explained the following issues and am waiting to see what their solution is. I received this unit two weeks ago. From the beginning, it has over inflated to 204 to 221, cutting off blood flow to the hand and forearm. The resulting reading has been consistently 20 points higher than our normal readings with the previous, non-Omron unit that we were using. On rare occasions, maybe 15% - 20% of the time, the reading has been about 15 points above normal reading. So I don't trust the readings. While I understand the thought process behind it, the cuff design is 'awkward'. It wants to wrap snugly around your arm and it is hard to adjust it to a slightly looser fit. I personally would not recommend this unit. If you decide to purchase, do so with caution. Maybe this is an isolated occurance. I have just completed the call with customer service. Since it is under warranty, they are willing to diagnose the problem at their tech service center. I have to pay for shipping to get it there. And it will take 10 to 16 days before it is shipped back. If they determine that there is a problem, they will send me a new unit. If not, they will return this one to me. The problem is, by the time I get it back, it would be beyond the time frame for me to return this to Amazon. And then I will have to spend another $60+ for a replacement. So, I will be returning this one to Amazon. UPDATE: I have used the replacement unit that Amazon sent for over two weeks now, in an effort to give it a fair chance. Apparently, this model is a not a good model. The cuff is too tight. It is difficult to expand so that it doesn't pinch as you are trying to place it. Bad design. It consistently over inflates, cutting off circulation to the lower arm for almost a minute. It consistently reads higher than another brand that I have that I have been doing side by side comparison with. You can't trust the reading/measurement. The other brand that I have reads more consistent and has a cuff that is easier to adjust and apply. I need a unit that accurately measures the bp. Omron does not.

Easy to use and understand

It has been more than two weeks since I received my package and right after that I started using it. So far, I have got a feeling of trust to its reading and automatic recoding the readings in Omron app. This unit is a little bit pricy, but I think it is worth it.

No storage case received. No back light so gray letters are hard to read. Have not tested submitting results to doctor. Have not taken to doctor's office yet for comparison tests. Easy to use. Seems to be good quality.
