Solid Wood Floating Fireplace Mantel Shelf (48", Intense Black)

We actually used the listing photo for this shelf as the inspiration for our entire fireplace redesign, and I'm very happy with how the real shelf turned out.It is genuinely solid wood, so you can see the real grain and wood finish rather than a printed veneer. The mounting system uses a wall bracket and the shelf then secures onto that bracket. I added extra mounting points into studs because I wanted it especially secure, and the finished shelf is extremely sturdy. For a floating shelf, I was impressed with how solid the mounting feels. It also looks exactly right with the stone fireplace we built around it.I absolutely love this shelf and would recommend it.

This solid piece of work expertly shaped and carved out for the wall bracket is outstanding!!!I am so glad I found this versus getting a piece of plastic or fake wood, as this just looks perfect and adds so much charm to our fireplace wall. Worth the money. Worth the wait. Easy to install. Just wish I found this years ago.

Looks great! Exactly as expected:)

Easy to install and finished product looks great!

The shelf itself is solid and is well constructed; however, the hardware to hang the shelf is lacking, to put it lightly. The screws slip in and out of the wall anchors provided. When I first put all 6 anchors and screws into the wall, I had doubts it would hold, and I was correct. The self is way too heavy for the provided hardware to hold. You WILL need to have 2-points anchored into studs. Unfortunately, the area above my fireplace, the provided hidden metal hanger that the self attaches to, did not hit the 2 studs behind the fireplace, so I had to use several toggle bolts to provide enough strength to hold the metal bracket to the wall once the shelf was attached and free hanging. While I know the shelf is not going to come off the wall, I still have reservations about putting anything heavy on the shelf, as it still has a slight droop, just because the wood is a solid piece and the hanging mechanism is having trouble holding that weight.5 stars on the quality of the wood, 1 star for the hardware provided.

Looks great! When installed on studs it is sold and sturdy. After reading some of the reviews about it sagging, I was sure to install it on the studs. The holes in the bracket did not align with the studs in my wall, so I had to drill new holes in the bracket. I installed it on 4 studs and also used 5 of the wall anchors. The mantel is perfectly straight and really sturdy.

Lovely mantel

Excellent quality and looks amazing!

I paid for express delivery and when I opened it the mantel was damaged. Have to return.

I am very unhappy about this item due to long delay and faulty item.
