My other thermometer died so I needed to order a new one. After looking at several on Amazon, I decided that this one was the best for my needs. It works perfectly, takes only a few seconds to get an accurate reading that’s easy to read with bigger numbers. I thought the price was very reasonable for this product.

Some of the reviews here slamming battery life ("I only used it once and it already says Lo") are misleading because those reviewers apparently did not read the directions. That "Lo" is for low temperature, not low battery. When you click the button, the device displays the last read temperature, then it shows Lo (with F or C underneath depending on your temperature scale) when it recalibrates at room temperature. You can then use it. This device is easy to use, and it works fast. As others have commented, the beep when it has finished reading the temperature is a little faint, but the wait is only a few seconds, so you can just wait 8 seconds and then remove it even if you can't hear the sound. For the price, this is a good product.

UPDATE: it's starting working for more of the time. It's a great thermometer when it does work. Fast and quiet. Did not work when it arrived. The power button does not turn it on correctly. It's not worth driving somewhere to return it, so it's just a waste of money. It would be a nice product if it worked.

I've used a few other quick read thermometers. A few major things I noticed are great about this one in particular; the battery life, the ability to change the battery out, and the quick accuracy in which you get a reading. The waterproof coating makes it easy to sanitize, and you can clean it quickly with some soap and hot water. The display is also really nice, the color coded display lets you know at an instant if you're normal, above grade, or running a fever. It was able to catch a fever as it was starting, which led to being able to get medication in my system and rest before the chills and aches could really set in. It's smooth seamless, and the quickness of it would make it easy to test kids temperature readings without having to sit with it in their mouth for long. Overall a really great product I would gladly buy again!

By far my favorite and most accurate thermometer for kids. It's easy to use, lights up when it has the final reading and is super fast.

Baby thermometer is important device to be kept at home when you have babies. I have used it for a week now and here is my take. I would highly recommend this product. My 2 cents below: Pros: - It does the job of temperature monitoring very well with alerts inbuilt - Very fancy looks and gives a great aesthetic while in use - Backlit so easy to read in dark as well - Good build quality and feels very premium - Reasonably priced Cons: - None for now

How did I ever live without this. It does all that it says it does. I love the colors that change depending on the temperature reading, and the large numbers. It IS fast! I haven't taken the time to compare or check accuracy against other thermometers - but assume that Vicks knows what they are doing, and that it will be well within acceptable tollerance for accuracy. That it's so fast means you get a QUICK read - when children or fussy or feeling badly. That is a GOOD thing. I love it - and I'm so glad we've made so much progress on this front. The only thing I don't know yet, is how long the battery will last. One note - the battery compartment is VERY VERY tight. Not a bad idea to put a little vaseline on the cap when you take it off, to make it easier to spin off next time. Other than that - no concerns at all. Thanks VICKS!
