Great Router
I recently upgraded from my older Nighthawk router (which had served me well for years but was starting to struggle with our growing number of devices and faster internet needs) to the brand-new Netgear Nighthawk RS500, and wow—what a difference! Setup was super straightforward using the Nighthawk app—took maybe 15 minutes total. Right away, I noticed blazing-fast speeds across the house. With WiFi 7 tri-band technology (including that clean 6GHz band), it's delivering up to 12Gbps total wireless speeds, which means smooth 4K/8K streaming on multiple TVs, lag-free online gaming on my consoles, and crystal-clear video calls without any buffering or dropouts. We have around 50+ devices connected (phones, laptops, smart home gadgets, cameras, etc.), and it handles everything effortlessly—no more slowdowns during peak hours. Coverage is impressive too—up to 3,000 sq. ft. means strong signal even in the far corners of my home and backyard, way better than my old router. The 2.5Gbps internet port is perfect for my gigabit (or faster) plan, and having a 2.5G LAN port plus extra Gigabit ports lets me wire in high-demand devices for max performance. Compared to my previous Nighthawk, this feels like jumping from a reliable sedan to a sports car—faster, more reliable, future-proof with WiFi 7, and it just works. If you're tired of spotty WiFi or throttling on an older router, the RS500 is a fantastic upgrade. Highly recommend! Netgear knocked it out of the park with this one. 🚀

Great Router
Our RS500 replaces a Netgear XR500 that is no longer supported. WiFi connections to the XR500 were also beginning to exhibit connection issues and performance degradation. These problems have cleaned up with the RS500, which has no trouble delivering our ISP's 500Mbps up/down over WiFi and wired connections. Ping latency is 7ms with a wired connection and 9ms with a WiFi connection. Installation and setup was easy, and I preferred to use a web browser instead of the smartphone app. The RS500 supports 2.4Ghz, 5GHz and 6GHz WiFi channels, WiFi 7, and has a 2.5Gbps WAN port, one 2.5Gbps LAN port and three Gigabit LAN ports. One minor issue occurred during setup when it checked for a firmware update and reported that I had the latest firmware. After completing setup and signing in as admin, I found that the router firmware was not the most recent and needed an update. We've only been running the router for a few days now, but so far everything is stable and working well, with no hints of any functional or performance issues. I would definitely recommend the RS500, particularly at the currently available 25% discount price.

Works right out-of-the-box. Set-up is easy.
Title: Worked right out-of-the-box Description: I already owned a Netgear Nighthawk Wi-Fi Router that was working perfectly, but now had lasted past its support date. I updated to the Netgear Nighthawk BE12000 Wi-Fi 7 Router (RS500) and the change from my old router to the new one was effortless. I was up and running in minutes and everything on my router network works perfectly. I also installed a Netgear Wi-Fi Router at my 80+ year old brother's house and it also is working flawlessly. I highly recommend Netgear Wi-Fi Routers.

Good Product
Great product, works great, easy setup with the app. Only complaint isn’t with the router but with Amazon selling the product used as new but it’s showed up as a refurbished unit. Bit of a false representation.

Better than my ISP's router
Title: Great router Description: Great router, puts out better speed than my ISP's router. The quality and look of the router is nice. Its Great that the router is somewhat future proof with the 2.5G port. The negative I do have is with the nighthawk app which has nothing to do with router. I kept getting errors half way through the process. It could be a problem if your not tech savvy. I have had issues with the app even with my previous nighthawk router. I thought by now after some many years the issues with the app would have been resolved. No matter what I did, I could not completely activate the router with the app, which would make the process easier for people who aren't that familiar with navigating around a router. I had to end up activating the router by using a hard wired laptop and interfacing directly with the router that way to set it up. The average person won't know how do that. Also make sure you do the firmware update or you will have poor upload speeds. I have gig service with Verizon. I was getting about 850mb download and 3mb upload before firmware update. After update I was getting 850mb download and about the same for upload.

Looks good fast speed ready for the next generation of the Internet
Router arrived as stated from Amazon Strong Signal Strength Also active armor went through my devices and made sure they were OK. The app allows for easy control probably more router than I need but I do some work from home and so does my wife. Signal strength and distance from the router to devices allow for mobility And easy access.

Faster than The Flash!
Needed a new router to use as an access point and saw this model on Amazon. We just upgraded to 1 Gbps speed at the house and needed to extend the signal upstairs on the opposite end of the house. I saw this Nighthawk 7 (RS500) had numerous positive reviews later- a lot of people vouched for it’s speed, coverage, functionality, and easy set up through the Nighthawk mobile app. Although the latter isn’t an issue for me (I work in tech), I opted for this router because of the bands - 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz - coverage area, the latest wifi 7 tech, and security features even though I am using this as an AP (I may create a separate network later and switch back to “Router Mode” allowing you to access the Nighthawk’s customizable security features). I swapped out all my CAT5 cables with some new CAT8s and everything hooked up to LAN was super fast - SpeedTest outputs of 700 Mbps to a little over 1Gbps of speed depending on the time of day. More importantly, wi-fi speeds didn’t disappoint - as I moved all over my house, front-yard, and back-yard, no issues of the network dropping. So glad I moved on from my Apple home networking eco-system to this Netgear 7 router. If you’re on the fence about upgrading to this model, don’t be - worth every penny!
