Was a good value for the money. Definitely met our expectations.

I bought this grate in June when I painted my firebox to get ready for the new fire season this year. I had a fire for three nights and the Grate did NOT hold up! The middle of the Grate is touching the bottom of my fire box. It is basically useless.

I needed a replacement and after research found this one. I didn’t want to spend 70 buckets so ordered this. It comes assembled which is awesome. It seemed not as wide as my last one, but the fires I’ve made have been wonderful. Works like a charm Nd would order again. Material is strong so far but have only had it a few weeks !

Nice little grate. Comes assembled and is very sturdy. Just realize that this grate is on the small side. I was looking at the length of it to make sure it fit in our fireplace. The depth is very shallow and will only accommodate one normal size log. Its nearly impossible to stack logs since you cannot put more than one on the bottom. This is NOT a poke in the eye to the manufacturer rather an observation. The product itself is top notch.

As odd as it may sound, I actually did a lot of research (my girlfriend would say WAY too much) for a fireplace grate that would suit my particular application. I even drew up a computer-aided drawing of my fireplace footprint and the dimensions of the prospective grates I considered for purchase. I eventually winnowed my choice down to the Rocky Mountain grate, based upon a good firebox fit and in consideration of its positive reviews. And taking into account multiple inducements within those reviews, I elected to obtain a grate made of cast iron rather than steel. I have not been sorry. It is performing well. Especially like how the screen at the bottom retains the embers for a longer, more steady burning and efficient fire.

You would figure a chunk of metal designed to be in a fireplace would not melt in a small home fireplace environment. The grate on the bottom melted off first. Over time the back bar going across the back became warped and droopy. This should not be a piece of equipment that needs to be replaced every other year. If you need it just for decoration it should work but if you actually intend to have a fire in your fireplace consider another option

We have a fire place in our den that we do not use. As an old, open fireplace, it was unsightly. We wanted to dress it up a little so we got a fire screen and the Rocky Mountain Goods Fireplace Grate to make it look presentable. We plan to put some small logs in the grate. It is just the right size for our fireplace. It is sturdily built and would serve anyone who wanted to use it for an actual fire. It is a great deal for the price.
