The holes for the screws on the base don’t line up so there isn’t a way to secure the base to the first section of the unit. If I hadn’t already thrown all the packaging away I’d return it. Not worth the price.

I ordered the five tier shelf and put it together in one day. I also opted to stain mine and love the look of it since it matches. Be careful when you're putting it together so that you make all of the shelf supports face the same way. I oops and it's very easy to do and very time-consuming to undo. This shelf holds so much and such a small space that you won't be disappointed.

I have put together a few of these from different brands and there are things I like about this shelf and things I don't.Things I like1) has 5 tiers2)all the shelves line up the same3) they put together the turning mechanism already (I did it for another brand took forever)Things don't like1) very light weight so can fall over more easily then other ones2) not an easy turn if you actually fill with books like I did. My kids have a hard time turning the shelf. So do I. (I have a different brand that the turn is so smooth and it has alot more weight capacity)3) the bottom piece if wood is annoyingly bigger then the rest of the pieces so it sticks out.

I bought this for my little sister and she loved it. It was very quick to put together and not difficult at all.

Base of shelf arrived cracked. Very disappointing.

This is exactly as described. Solid wood, sturdy, and ready to paint. Now, I wish you could have used a regular screwdriver to install the screws because using the Allen wench provided, which you have to use because of the shape of the screw head, sucked. But overall very happy. Mine held 117 books. They are all paperback but of varied thickness. These are YA and adult books, no children’s.
