This is my go-to basic rum, lovely to sip neat, excellent mixed with ice and coke. There are more exciting and interesting rums out there - I’m thinking Pussers Gunpowder proof, Diplomatico, O Hara’s Spiced ( oh my goodness, O Hara’s Spiced rum!), Bumbu… but for a value for money great rum, Appletons is hard to beat. About £7 cheaper on Amazon than in most supermarkets too.

Get what you pay for.
Awful awful rum. Appleton estate makes good rum and thought I could get a bargain, but you definitely get what you pay for. Pay a little more, get something that doesn't taste like poison.
