A great party of heroes once brought an era of peace, their deeds fading to legend over time. But what of their elven mage, Frieren, who outlived her companions? A new generation sparks her next adventure to understand the human heart, now and of the past. Review: Eagerly awaiting part 2 on blu-ray - A fantasy anime that mixes high quality Shonen battle animation, a rich and detailed backstory to the world's history nearly on par with Lord of the Rings and Tales of Earthsea, and a slice of life storytelling pace that assists in appreciating the daily going-ons in the world Frieren and their companions live and work in. Since beginning my anime journey with Digimon Adventures in the 90s, many anime titles have come and gone - some worth remembering and rewatching; others forgotten due to the production team relying on troupes of the time regardless of how well animated it is. Yet, I found myself watching all 24 episodes 7 times over then reading the manga and comparing how different the translation from panels to frames can enhance a story or give a different feeling or approach. I have done this with Dungeon Meshi as well (here's hoping to a US release soon). This anime touched upon thoughts and feelings I hadn't given time to explore much less appreciate - how important the bonds we form throughout our lives regardless how short the moment was, if it left an impression then it changed some part of you. Honestly it took a kuudere elf and her long but short lifetime of memories to help me slow and look around my surroundings and appreciate the people around me because life is a journey to create new bonds. Review: perfect - perfect.

Really beautiful fantasy anime with lessons to teach and great friends to make.
Really great standout anime with a wonderful yet realistic fantasy setting. The characters are all very interesting and memorable, with Frieren, the 1000+ years young legendary mage who aided in the demon king's defeat, taking the center stage on an entirely new journey as she struggles as we all do with contemplation of past memories and even friends who may no longer be with us. It is a great story teaching us to live and not succumb to the curse that is "analysis paralysis" as Frieren suffers from in the beginning before being joined by a young girl and her soon-to-be apprentice, Fern. To quote Frieren herself: "Don't dwell in the past when you have the present. Trust me."

Loved the story - touching plot with great characters.
After dropping a whopping .99 on a Crunchyroll trial subscription I watched quite a few animes and had almost given up on the 'adventure/quest' genre but this story was well-written with characters I was interested in watching develop. Loved it so much I bought Season 1 but was disappointed I'll have to buy part 2 later. Dividing seasons up for Blu Ray sales caught me off guard when I purchased the Ancient Magus' Bride so I learned to read the descriptions better so at least this time I knew what I was getting. The description for this Blu Ray was accurate as it indicates "Season 1 Part 1" where the Ancient Magus' Bride description says "The Complete Series" - even though it excluded season 2. Oh well I've learned to live with disappointment and I don't regret either purchase even though, in the end I'll be spending more $$ that I wanted to. To end on a positive note - I'm happy with the purchase and will buy part 2 when it is available!

Anime pit stop
Amazon is usually my one-stop for anime purchases. They beat Crunchyroll when it comes to both delivery and availability. Plus having prices even with Crunchyroll discount membership included and Amazon without the discount. This anime is a favorite of mine for its humor. So to find it and such an affordable price is great. Plus brought to me soon is great. Would recommend if you are looking to make purchases

Gracias y saludos.

A modern classic and a masterpiece of a show
One of the best anime I've ever seen in the last two decades I've been watching. Tackling subjects of loss, found family, self-reflection, and so much more; if you're anything like me, you'll cry, laugh, get hyped, be at the peace, and feel so many other things throughout the duration of the show. I truly believe this show will be remembered as a modern classic and a masterpiece of animation, storytelling, and character writing for many years to come. I'm really looking forward to season 2 coming in January and I hope that the show's stellar quality continues for as long as this show does.
