Earthy, Simple Organic Barley Grass Powder — Best Mixed With Juice
Nutricost Organic Barley Grass Juice Powder comes in a large 1 lb (454 g) container. This is barley grass juice powder rather than wheat grass, although the two are commonly used in much the same way—as a concentrated green powder added to smoothies, juices, shakes, or other drinks. In this case, I look at it mainly as an easy way to add a powdered green plant ingredient to something I'm already drinking, rather than expecting anything specific from it. The serving size is surprisingly small at just 1 gram, or approximately 1/2 teaspoon. With 454 servings in the container, that's theoretically 454 individual servings. Even using it every day, you're looking at well over a year's worth at the labeled serving size. A small measuring scoop is included. Supplement Facts: • Serving Size: 1 scoop (1 g) • Servings Per Container: 454 • Organic Barley Grass Juice Powder: 1 g • Other ingredients: none listed The powder itself is very fine and a deep grassy green. As expected with something like this, the powder gets everywhere around the rim and coats the scoop pretty quickly. Marked lot #24081213 with an expiration of 08/2027. As far as actually using it, the label says to mix one scoop with 6-10 oz of water or your preferred beverage. It has an earthy grass taste—obviously. It is technically "unflavored," but unflavored definitely doesn't mean flavorless here. Mixed with plain water, you are very much drinking something that tastes green and grassy. I think it's considerably better in a juice, where the juice can cover some of that natural flavor. A smoothie would also make more sense to me than plain water. One thing I appreciate is the ingredient list. It's simply Organic Barley Grass Juice Powder without a long list of fillers or a proprietary greens blend. The listing also describes it as suitable for smoothies, shakes and recipes and lists it as vegan-friendly. Somethings I noticed… the container carries USDA Organic and CCOF Certified Organic markings and states that the product is third-party tested, non-GMO and gluten-free. The listing additionally says it is manufactured in an NSF Certified, GMP Compliant, FDA Registered Facility. Those manufacturing statements sound reassuring at face value, but I don't treat an FDA-registered facility as meaning the FDA has approved the supplement itself. More importantly, while "third party tested" is stated on the container, I don't see the actual test results, testing lab, or exactly what each batch is tested for. Who knows without that additional information. I also wouldn't buy this expecting the label to tell you exactly what nutrients you're getting from each scoop. Beyond identifying 1 gram of organic barley grass juice powder, it doesn't provide a breakdown of the naturally occurring compounds or other nutritional components in that gram. So, while barley grass powders are generally used as concentrated greens supplements, this particular label is pretty basic about what that 1-gram serving actually contains. Overall, it's a straightforward single-ingredient organic barley grass juice powder with a huge number of small servings. I like the simple formula, organic certification, included scoop and long supply. The tradeoff is the naturally earthy, grassy taste and fairly limited transparency behind the third-party-testing statement. For me, juice is definitely the way to go with this one. GLUTEN PRODUCT
Not for celiacs disease. This product has gluten. I reacted as if I had a bagel. Otherwise taste good.

Organic, sweet, easy way to get greens
Love the taste of this barley grass. I add it to my cold brew coffee-matcha-Yerba mate-latte to green it up—mixes well—and my picky bf loves it. I think it’s good quality. Although I’m not sure of the bioavailability of the nutrients, I feel like I’m getting the nutrients from veggies/greens that I sorely lack. This is a flavorful cheat to consume green stuff! Worth the current price $26, being organic, and I do think I get a little zing in energy after taking it (tried it plain).

A great quality green powder
This stuff is great. It mixes fairly well and it always feels like I just got a boost of alkaline life vitality every time I drink it. It is like it calms my body instantly. I like to mix it into grapefruit juice, its the only juice I ever use for greens that works for flavor mixing. I do that sometimes to get vitamin c at the same time and to mask the grassy taste a little bit. You can also put a scoop into a smoothie as well. But overall this is a really good product.

Worked the next day!!!!
Ok I trust nutricost because I get supplements for my blood pressure and diabetes from this company. When this came up I said to myself, 'well let see what this will do.' The taste is pretty good with some lemon juice. The amount you get is beyond a value!!! One container should last you about a year if you drink a bottle daily. It is a very fine powder. The nutrients do not seem to bee stripped and it literally will start cleaning you out if you know what I mean 🤣🤣🤣. It's a dark green powder that dilutes effortlessly with water juice, teas and even milk. I honestly can recommend this to anyone who want to improve gut health and overall health. I drink a bottle a little bit before bed and let it do what it's supposed to.
