The downsides are: Apart from the glass jug it is all plastic and feels generally flimsy. Getting the lid off the jug to wash it is very difficult. We thought of replacing an old Krups machine that is probably about 15 years old and has been brilliant. No EU regulations so it stays hot all the time! But it was showing its age.
