Fresh out of the package (cool temp) it seemed chunky. I was concerned because we have a small bore 8fr NGT. I heated it on the stove and added some liquid (3oz) and it has been pumping just fine no clogs or alarms at all! I appreciate being able to get meat in her diet!!

My mom is permanently on a feeding tube. She has a G-Tube, with 16F size tube with 60ml ENFIT locking syringes. I truly thank God we found this product. We use Real Food Blends every day at home for her feeding tube meals. This high protein one is thick- I have to thin it with a protein shake so it can be administered in a 16F feeding tube with 60ml ENFIT locking syringes.

Overall I am happy with the product. I had a hard time with it originally because the expiration date was smeared and to me it looked like a 1 but after much consensus and deliberation, we came to the conclusion that it was a 7... However, I think it should be stamped much clearer, especially when dealing with food, and food that would be used for a more susceptible population. The photos I am posting are the clearest ones that I got in terms of the date... The others were VERY smeared and not very legible. Outside of that - the taste is good. It is a pureed food and blended well with a smooth texture but would do well to be diluted down a bit as it is quite thick. This will definitely give you what you need in terms of protein and nutrients. It is good quality foods and ingredients and the packaging (minus the expiration) was good and all of the bags were sealed. The pack is quite expensive but I think it is important to have a good quality item when dealing with people with needs and the quality is there.

It's very tasty, and you get carbs, vegetables and proteins.

Product came in great shape, No damage. My family member is tolerating it well. Transitioning them off of formula to blended foods.

Over I like the real food blends. They help fill in my child’s diet where I may need help for instance in the go or traveling a long distance and can’t utilize our home blends as easily. My issue is I order a 12 pack of this product and was only shipped 11 packs. Very frustrating considering how much this cost out of pocket. I would like a resolution to this issue but have yet to receive one.

We've been caring for my mother on a feeding tube for two years now, and we were drowning in the cost of medical formula. When we switched to Real Food Blends, it felt like a weight lifted. The ingredients are actual food: chicken, zucchini, potatoes. Not some synthetic chemistry experiment. The protein content is solid at 15 grams per serving, which our nutritionist approved immediately. My mom's nurse even mentioned she could smell real food for the first time in months. That said, this isn't grab-and-go convenient. It's thicker than formula, so we always dilute it with water or low-sodium broth to get it through the pump without clogging the tube. I warm it gently on the stove, add about 150ml of liquid, stir it smooth, let it cool, then run it through our Kangaroo pump. The whole process takes maybe fifteen minutes per feeding, which adds up. And yes, it costs more than the cheap medical stuff. But she's getting real nutrition instead of processed powder, and that matters to us. Four stars: the product itself is solid, but the thickness and prep time add enough friction that I can't justify five. Still, I recommend it without hesitation.
