Review: Great comfort & easy adjustment, silly noise button - I recently broke my foot, so I can't bear much weight at all on my right foot. I had regular crutches initially, but they were too painful on my hands/arms and too unwieldy, so I was looking at forearm crutches. I have now had these for a week or so and here is what I found: (1) Comfort: I'm 5'5 and weigh 140 lbs, and I was able to easily set up and adjust the crutches. They are SO comfortable compared to regular crutches. They bear weight on my forearms (the forearms pads are extremely helpful and comfortable) and hands, and the hand holders are VERY comfortable and ergonomically designed. I appreciated that I could adjust the angle of the hand grip. The straps are a little silly but they work, I haven't had any complaints about those like others have. (2) Flimsy Parts: I have *NOT* had any problem with flimsy parts that others have noted in reviews yet, but it's still early days - I'll update my review later on that topic. (3) Noise Button: I agree w/ other customers that the noise button is silly - it is not loud enough to be useful to alert others of a fall. Yelling would work much better. (4) Light: I agree w/ others that the light included is very helpful. I use it when trying to get to the bathroom at night and it's been super helpful - I don't have to balance my iPhone camera to light my way, or wing it and potentially trip.
Review: Absolutely Wonderful But Take Your Time Learning To Use Them! - I'm a 66 year-old amputee since 1994, 5'11", 175lbs. In those 28 years, I've mostly used a prosthesis, but I have extensive experience with simple forearm crutches. However, I've been suffering from an arthritic carpal-metacarpal joint on my left thumb/hand which now makes the use of rigid forearm crutches painful. I had to recently return to the use of forearm crutches because of stump issues that prevent me from donning my prosthesis. So...back to the old crutches. I began searching for a more comfortable crutch and came across the 7G. A bit pricey, but given that I'll be using them for the next few months after the upcoming re-amputation of my leg, I decided that I needed these guys! A fair warning, though. Even if you're an old pro with forearm crutches like me, these guys will take some time to properly adjust them and a bit of practice to use them. There are two factors that come into play with these new crutches and may give you cause for concern (though temporary). The first is the spring shock absorption built into the lower end of the crutch. Even though you adjust them to your height, you will immediately find that they get a little shorter in length, which causes you to bend your knee(s) a little more during each stride. At first, this is disconcerting, but you will quickly get used to it, and trust me, the shock absorbers are WORTH it! The second is the shape and "squishyness" of the handgrip as you follow-through your stride, placing your full weight upon it. It made me feel a bit unstable at first, but once I learned exactly how to hold the grip in my palm, that instability evaporated. The bottom line is that if you are gripping them incorrectly, you will experience some instability during weight-bearing on the crutch. These grips are the answer to my arthritic thumb problem and I can't praise the "ergonomic" design enough! They are heavier than normal forearm crutches, but not by much, and I don't notice it during use. I like the floor grips, which feel more stable to me. As for the "horn"...I don't really see the point, although the pitch is not identical in both crutches. In fact, as a musician, I noticed right away that there was a Major interval of a third between the two...so even though useless, they DO harmonize. 🤣 However, the light is definitely useful during those midnight trips to the restroom. As for quality...the metal components such as the shaft and adjustment locking mechanisms seem to be robust and feel solidly reliable. The upper arm rest and grip assembly, though made of a type of plastic, are equal solid and "give" in all the right ways and at the right times. I haven't had them long enough to report on any stress-tests of the upper assembly. I will say that the hand-screw adjustment of the grip angle seems surprisingly sturdy and that portion is of a solidly metal composition. I've only had these crutches for two days, and I'm certain that I'm still not finished with tweaking the height and grip/angle adjustments, but I would recommend these to anyone who has the string to use regular forearm crutches with one caveat - no matter where you are on the experience level with forearm crutches, be patient, use them and get used to them before making any judgments about them. I'm certain you'll be glad you did. Five stars from me!👍

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What size are the batteries?**
A: small. incredibly difficult to insert. the whole thing is just so badly designed it’s hard to believe. caveat emptor indeed.

**Q: What is the distance from floor to the grip at the maximum height setting?**
A: It depends on what setting you put it on. You raise or lower the handle yourself. I absolutely loved mine! ! ! ! !

**Q: We only received the left crutch. Will the right one be sent separately? I bought the pair.**
A: Mine came in the same box.

**Q: Will these work for someone 4' 11" who is 180# or should I go down to the child size?**
A: No, they would not get that short. They come in a box that is already about 5"4 and that's as short as they get. I also returned mine, they are heavy, uncomfortable hard to walk with, the knee peg hurts. The bottem of them are very wide and easy to step on. I would agree if you are 4'11 and want these go with the pediatric ones ...

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stable, Even for a Big Guy
*by P***H on September 24, 2022*

I tore my ACL, found out my meniscus was about gone...oh yeah, had arthritis in my knee as well (the knee joint trifecta). No wonder it hurt so much. I grabbed a pair of Ergobaum 7G crutches as soon as I tore the ACL as I couldn't walk at all. Reviews looked great and, even though they were expensive, I figured I needed something that could help me through the pre-surgery and knee replacement recovery period. It took me about 3 days to get used to using them, then I found myself walking effortlessly with these. I'm not that tall - 5'9" - but I'm a bit heavy...260. Though heavy, I'm athletic enough and have good arm strength. These crutches have the perfect amount of give in the springs and, with the rounded feet at the bottom, I find walking so easy...even when I can hardly put weight on my bad knee. I wasn't sure all the design features (seemed like gimmicks to me) were going to be all that helpful. But I was wrong. The adjustability of the cuff angle is a must. I find it very convenient to be able to fold them up when I'm not using them, mostly when I get into the car. The knee rest is good, but I haven't used it that much. The headlights are really helpful. When I get up in the middle of the night, I can flip on the headlights and navigate to the bathroom without disturbing my wife. That feature surprised me in its usefulness. The only real gimmick is the beeper. My 18 month old grandson likes it. But, otherwise, it seems pretty silly. Yup, these are expensive. But after 3 months of use, I can say with confidence that they were worth every penny.
