Picky and judgmental GSD gives 2 paws up!
I told my GSD Mike that when I got my finances sorted out, the quality of MY nutrition would improve and so would HIS. True to my word, I’ve been making his food for about a month now and put a lot of effort into calculating nutrition values for the recipes I make for him. He’s my BFF, so I don’t want to mess it up! With a varied diet (I change the recipes so he’s not eating the same thing week in and week out, to try to cover any nutritional deficiencies any particular “batch” may have,) I know I’m covering macros, but it’s the micros I got concerned about, especially with a senior GSD. Which is where Canine Minerals has enters the chat. Canine Minerals has a very mild odor to MY nose (when i shoved my nose in the jar, that’s how mild it is) and not unpleasant at all, according to Mike. At 30,000x my nose, I’d recommend you go with Mike’s nose. For his weight, it was recommended 3-5 scoops (included). I measured the scoop and it’s about a teaspoon per scoop. I tasted a bit of Canine Minerals (hey, if I’m going to feed it to my dog, it had better be safe for me to at least taste on the tip of my tongue) and found it without taste, with a tiny gritty texture. I sprinkled Canine Minerals on TOP of Mike’s food to see how he felt about it (I’m not above mixing things in or “hiding” them, but I wanted to know if it was actually necessary), he LICKED the powder off the top of his food and then ate the rest. So, again, I’d trust my dog’s taste buds over mine, and his said “no problemo.” So far, I haven’t noticed any difference in my dog’s hair, nails, poop, gas, activity level, or behaviors… which is fine by me, they were all good to begin with. I am all over the supplements (glucosamine chondroitin, salmon oil, and a multi vitamin), his weight is a steady 76-78 pounds and I’m confident that I’m doing the best I can, with a reasonable amount of thought, effort, and care. This supplement seems like a good fit with making my own dog food and it covers the minerals I haven’t already been supplementing. If you’re making food or supplementing with homemade food, I’d recommend giving this product a look. Also, tell your dog I said HI!

Generous 1lb Serving of Complete Mystery Sourced Minerals
I got this item for my elderly large breed dog after eyeing it for awhile. There is a generous amount of soft, finely ground powder in a 16oz medium size canister that will last a long time. Conveniently,Tthe label contains quite specific dosing instructions to improve canine functionality through nutritional support. The smell of the supplement is a bit chemically and harsh. One major drawback that I feel was a big mistake and lowers the value for cost was not disclosing the sources of the minerals *or* listing which chemical structure each mineral is. Most minerals that end in "citrate" are more bioavailable. There are about a dozen types of magnesium now, so how do I learn this information about which "types" are in rhis supplement? Overall, this is comprehensive mineral powder supplement that my dog's "pet parent" adds to his dinner. Despite the powder (3.5 scoops for my Rottweiler's weight) being a pretty icky smell, my dog happily e his dinner with this added mineral powder. This leads me to believe the product has a palatable taste to my dog that dies smell to me. Aside from not listing the mineral subtypes, this seems to be a comprehensive mineral support powder. If your dog may be low on .inetals, this is greay way to replenish them.

Great for the health of your dogs.
Reviewing Rx Vitamins Canine Minerals - Essential Minerals for Dogs – We have tripawd. Obviously, her joint health is extremely important, so our vet directed us to give her some support in the way of supplements. This is a great supplement for joint health. I initially sprinkled it on my dogs food, but she ended up leaving a lot of it behind, in the bowl so I’ve started mixing it in a tiny bit of warm water and pouring it over her food. Problem solved. I can’t speak to how well it helps her joints. If it’s doing its job, she won’t get joint issues, or at least not the extent she would otherwise. I’ll continue buying this supplement for her since the brand has a good reputation.

Made my dog have bloody diarrhea
Wanted to love this but made my dog have worrisome bloody diarrhea. Read other dogs were fine but some did not do well with it. Unfortunately my dog did not. :(

Seems to help a bit with older pups
We got this for our neighbor's older dogs that have started the horrendous habit of eating their own poop. They seems to like this stuff added to their food and I'm told they have stopped being so adamant about their bad habit. Hard to know exactly but this product does seem to supplement their diet enough to curb their cravings.

Be careful with this one.
Pet owners, if your pet has any issues with their stomach, pancreas or such, this is not going to be the vitamin mix for them.

The ingredient list is impressive.
I had been searching for a good quality mineral supplement for my dog, and was impressed with the ingredient list - all essential supplements for a dog. I mix this in with my dog's "human-grade" dog food, and he either loves it or doesn't mind the taste. Either way, there are no objections from him.
