Engaging and interesting. Simple yet captivating narration, filled with wisdom

This book is a travelogue basically, as indicated by its title. However, it is pretty much unconventional by all means! The travels are not he countries we hear about often, but to rather 'difficult' countries! The style of narration is not the usual 'I did that, I saw that' boasting style, but humble and pleasing, that of a funny adventure, one on that makes the reader fond of the travelers. The narration has has warmth, affection, depth, humor and interesting quotes and references, from songs, poetry and all that. Relevant aspects of history and geography are nicely and seamlessly woven into the storyline, not as boring passages usually seen in travelogues. Indeed worth reading an enjoying!

Very good book, it took me through the magical lands and could almost see and feel the distant lands. The book is very engaging, informative and anyone who likes to travel will be able to read and thoroughly enjoy.
