These thermostats participate in the main heat and the reduced heat. They set the exhaust air at 155 F. This seems to be an improved model. Fits lots of different dryers. Saves electricity by doing its job.

Had an issue with our older Whirlpool dryer where the dryer would only dry clothes on maximum heat in all settings. Tested with a multimeter and found that the cycling thermostat was not working properly, and was stuck open which causes nothing but the highest heat as it is not limiting the heat being applied to the clothes. Removed old one and installed this new one. Was an exact match to the old one, and tested the dryer in all heat settings. Worked perfect and clothes are now drying again at exact heat settings. Great part and easy fix, hope this thermostat lasts as long as the original.

I honestly thought the old one was just fine, I threw this in, and it now gets much hotter than before, and felt of OEM quality and fit just fine.

Exact fit and heat started right back up in the dryer once reassembled. Quality is unmatched for the cost and easy installation. Picture is old burnt out one. Warning: depending how long your dryer was out I highly recommend cleaning the heating elements first before starting back up to prevent fire, after starting mine up I could smell the dryer lint burning off.

I am not very mechanical - minded overall, one thing I can do is repair my own dryer. The Dryer Cycling Thermostat is very easy to install and it works. The cost was 1/4 the price that my local preferred parts dealer had, but they were on backorder. L and HD said they had them in stock, but didn't and delivery would take 3 days to 6 weeks! I am glad I bought the BlueStars thermostat. It took more time to remove the back panel of my Whirlpool Dryer than it did to install the thermostat. it looks exactly the same as the original thermostat. One more tip, if you haven't already buy a replacement for the other thermostat and thermal fuse. They usually die around the same time. Replacing them is just as easy as the cycling thermostat and you will save yourself the fun, fun time you will have crawling behind the dryer and the PITA job of rehooking the dryer vent hose. My last dryer lasted 10+ years and I had to replace the 2 thermostats, fuse, and heating coil once. Our dryer runs (total) around 6+ hours a day (minimum). Buying the parts here cost less than the best local price and lasted longer than the original. (The replacement parts look exactly like the original.(.
