New Balance Men's Minimus 10 V1 Trail Running Shoe

These are my favorite running shoes -- my old pair has held up for at least 5 years, through 3 marathons, a trail marathon, and untold hours of gym time. The new pair has a slightly different color scheme; the mid-sole is a very dark blue, which doesn't show up terribly well in the product pictures, but still looks nice nonetheless.Going from my *fully* broken in pair to these made me realize how tight the heel area of the shoe is, right off the bat. Granted, these are made to support the mid-foot and heel, with a wide, flexible toe box that allows your toes to splay a bit and "grip the ground" as you run. I typically wear a US size 11.5 or 12; my previous pair of these was a size 12. I recommend going about a half size larger than you think you need, if you're not used to wearing this kind of minimalist shoe, just because of the "odd" shape -- that is, narrow heel, wide toe box.The materials are all very durable, soft in all the right places, and contoured to the foot so everything fits snugly without any loose bits to rub and give you blisters. While the sole isn't terribly thick, it still has enough cushion to add a little bit of comfort to every step, without seriously detracting from "road feel," or limiting mid- and fore-foot strike. All in all these are my favorite shoes, and I highly recommend them for anyone looking for a very comfortable - but still minimalist - shoe.

I was looking for an ultralight alternative to hiking boots. I've had good luck on sizing with New Balance before, so I took the chance of ordering these. Overall the fit is a little small compared to other New Balance styles. However, the sneakers preformed better than I'd hoped.First these are either zero drop or are very close to it. I felt pain in my Achilles tendons after wearing these a few days. I had to go back to my regular shoes and let my tendons heal. I went back to these wearing the MT10V1 only an hour a day in the house. It wasn't long before I could wear them all day, even doing yard work or shopping. Then I headed out to do some trail runs and hike.Eventually I changed the laces out for Lock Laces. This improved the overall comfort by a huge margin.Finally after breaking them in for 3+ months, I headed out to the Pemi Loop for a 30+ mile hike on the boulders and mud of the White Mountains. I've included a picture to show you just how rough the trail could be.During my hike I wore a 20 pound pack. Since I took the time to strengthen my ankles and joints gradually, I never once felt I didn't have enough support in these trail runners on my hike. There preformed well beyond my expectations. Amazing traction on wet and muddy rock, scree, anything. Excellent trail shoes. My only word of warning is they are quite well ventilated. It was very easy to get water seepage into the shoe. This is not a criticism. Just an observation.I will buy these again and again. They are now my favorite sneaker.

I've been flat-footed my entire life and suffered through years of people telling me I should get inserts and orthotics and highly cushioned shoes blah blah blah. These shoes are the best shoe I've come across, and I've tried a lot of them, to include my fair number of toe shoes. I have extremely wide feet due to my collapsed arches (when I say collapsed, I mean when I get out of the pool, I leave rectangles with toes on the concrete, not footprints), and these fit PERFECTLY. The toe box is nice and wide, and not a weird (probably normal for most people) angle - it's mostly straight, so my toes have plenty of room to spread out and work, instead of rub against each other. This is my second pair, and I can honestly say my first pair lasted about 2.5 years before I should have replaced them, but instead kept running them until you could see daylight through the soles. I've worn them hiking, mountain biking, into rivers/ponds/lakes, bouldering, running, and to the gym all with no problems (except for on occasion I have had a stick jab me pretty good - never enough to break through the sole, but you definitely notice things most shoes hide). The only thing they can't protect you from, and this only applies out west (I had this issue in both Idaho and New Mexico) is "goat heads" on the trail/road/etc. If you've lived out west, you know what a goat head is, and it's not uncommon for them to make it through the soles of these shoes and give you a little sting on the bottom of your foot. It's even easier for them to really get you through the mesh upper of the shoes - goat heads go through that with no issues at all.All in all, these shoes are great, to include if you have collapsed arches. They do allow the muscles in your feet to really work so your feet may be tired more often than you think, but some work with a lacrosse ball will have you back on track. Definitely recommend these.

Got these for trail running and to go after a Spartan Trifecta this year Jan 2019. I ran the SoCal Spartan Super in Chino. They fit true to size for me and I have a wider foot, I got my normal 10.5.During the Spartan Super they performed great. I had plenty of traction and grip on the trail as well as obstacles. They dried fast and didn’t pick up significant weight when submerged in water or mud. They had very poor grip in one mud obstacle, it was the thickest and muddiest obstacle so nobody had grip on that one. The other mud obstacles they performed well, but I wouldn’t say great. That’s also to be expected as they don’t have claws or cleats for mud, they are trail and not mud runners, but they got the job done for me just fine. They are also really cool looking when new and clean. After the spartan and he mud however, obviously they lost there fresh look but still look great. The mesh parts still have dirt particles since it’s hard to clean between the mesh. And I did not have any shrinkage of the shoes after drying, i let them dry in the sun for half a day, and a lot of the dirt and mud fell off woth a quick shake.They are minimalist shoes, which I’m used to and prefer. I find them very comfy overall and the lacing system locks down well for a secure fit. I also use them daily in a HIIT Boot Camp Gym and they’re great for that as well.I’ll be running the Spartan Beast in Big Bear, CA in May. Will update how they perform there.

Quick first impression after my first run. I have been running exclusively with New Balance shoes for approximately five years now. I have several pairs of 890v3 and 890v6, all sized 10 2E. Love the 890s. However, I have been wanting to try a minimalist shoe. I purchased this Minimus 10v1 in size 10 2E. That pair was very tight; too small. So, I exchanged those for size 10.5 2E. These are also tight, but I decided to take a risk and keep them. Because they look so darn cool hahah. Seriously though, I was hoping the shoes would loosen up a bit.Had my first run in them today. Ran 3.5 miles. It was 12pm in Phoenix, 100 degrees out. Over the past few weeks my runs have been sluggish. Today, I shaved ~4 - 5 seconds off my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd miles. My feet feel more connected to the pavement and responsive in these shoes. The lack of padding is quite noticeable! The 890s are more comfortable, especially on downhills and sprints. I actually prefer the 890s for downhills and sprints.In the Minimus, my feet feel everything; feel closer to the asphalt and trail. The Mininus sole is stiffer and may actually provide more protection against sharp rocks than the padded 890s. Rocks don't bite as acutely into my foot as with the 890s, if that makes any sense. The shoes have not loosen up much, but they no longer feel tight across the top of my feet.

I have been searching for a replacement for my worn out Trail Glove III shoes and have finally found what I think is an even better shoe from a fit and minimalist feel. The Minimus sole is thin like the TG III and fits and feels like a comfortable slipper out of the box and with the shoe laces tied, they feel amazing. I did order a size 9 Wide which fits better than a 9.5 regular width that is my normal size. The extra tow box width allowed me to go down a half size. I have included photos of the Minimus next to my old TG III shoe. The sole of the Minimus has circle shaped tread bumps leaving me curious to see how long the tread lasts. The TG III sole is worn, but has hundreds of miles of walking on pavement, hiking, and running and held up quite well over the years. I’m hoping because the Minimus also uses the Vibram brand sole that they will hold up as good. Last, I liked these shoes so much that I placed an order for a second pair to have as back up. I did not do that with the TG III, and when I wanted a second pair I couldn’t find them anywhere.

I've been running in minimal shoes and barefoot for about 8 years now. This is the best pair of minimal shoes out of the 5 or so I've tried so far. They are truly minimal: super lightweight, and only have solid material where necessary to hold the shoe together and hold it on your foot. I wear them to the gym ~3 times a week, run outside, and hike, and have owned them for a few months now.Cons: build quality could be a little better. There are several frayed threads sticking out and places where the glue leaked/migrated and left a residue. It hasn't seemed to affect the actual structure of the shoes (they're holding up great), so that's good.WARNING: they are way smaller than other brands. I ended up having to return 2 pairs and wear a whole size larger than I wear in normal shoes (including previous Merrill minimal running shoes).

These are not my favorite minimalist shoes I've ever had, but they seem like they will be dependable shoes after putting more than 20 miles on them -- my last run being 6 miles. I had previously worn the NB MT20OR back in the day and they worked out very well. I am 6'1" and 200 lbs so I punish my shoes with each step.My all-time favorite minimalist shoe was the original Merrell Trail Glove -- owned several pairs of them. All of the subsequent models have been disappointing in comparison. However, the Trail Gloves were not good for me in the rain. So I always used my NB MT20ORs when it rained instead of the Merrells.I usually wear these shoes with no socks but occasionally wear thin sock liners. I have not had any blisters with up to 6 miles, but I've had a couple of hot spots that may have developed into blisters after a few more miles.This pair was a little bit tight but the size is mostly accurate for me. The sides are not too rigid so even though the toe box is not very large, my feet splay some.The weight is nice and light. They are airy too so my feet do not get TOO sweaty. My old NB MT20ORs developed a smell so bad I had to keep them in the garage. I washed them a couple of times, and they held up well.There is a little bit of arch support which I do not like. It is more of an irritation, knowing their there, than a pain. They are fine to run in since I am on the balls of my feet, but I will not be wearing them to walk around in.I wear these mostly on streets and sidewalks where they are pretty good. I have bruised the bottom of my foot from stepping on a stone before with the NB MT20OR's, but my feet are VERY tender. I've also done this with the Merrells and other shoes.I don't wear these everyday. I like to switch between shoes on different days. I have also run in INOV-8s and Skoras. Both of which I have liked a lot. I occasionally still wear my Vibram Five Fingers but only when running on a track or grassy area -- my feet are much too tender to wear these on the road even though I have put several miles on them doing so, but now I've learned my lesson. I would really like it if Merrell brought back a Trail Glove that was like the original, especially without the arch support they like to put in their shoes now. I ran two marathons and many 1/2's with the Trail Gloves (they just weren't very good in the rain).Hopefully, this will help someone decide if this is the shoe for them. I read a lot of reviews each time I decide to change shoes.Just remember if you are just getting started running in minimalist shoes, start out slowly and keep good form. These shoes are not as forgiving as running on the typical mattress shoes. However, after you get past the soreness and good form is a habit, you will not have leg, joint, toenail, etc. problems -- at least that was my case.

Soy usuario de todas las Minimus que ha sacado hasta hoy NB y, avisado por la tienda NB y usuarios que la tienen, definitivamente estas M10 tallan pequeñas. Mi pie es tipo estrecho y mi medida en todas las NB Minimus son 27,5cm (9uk). He pediddo 9,5uk-28cm 44Eu-, es decir, 1/2 talla Uk mas y me quedan bien para lo que las quiero: para trail.Así que tendelo en cuenta si la pedís: tallan algo pequeñas.

My favorite running shoe, started running with this model of shoe back in 2014 when I started running more seriously and just kept buying the newest version whenever the old ones wore out. They're great minimalist shoes light and responsive. Granted i've never tried any other pair, but I also never felt the need to.Trained and ran my first ultra with this latest model and was sad to see that it's now discontinued and out of stock.

Der Schuh passt sich super dem Fuß an. Tolles Lauf - Gehgefühl. Man sollte ihn nur mind. eine Nummer größer nehmen. Den Vorgänger hatte ich drei Jahre. Gute Verarbeitung und abriebfeste Sohle.

8年前にハワイでこれと同じモデルを購入、履き込んで最終的にソールが無くなる。また同じものが欲しくて買いました。やっぱり履き心地良い。
