Halo+ Portable Projector, Google TV, Licensed Netflix, 700 ISO Lumens

Took me a while to decide what projector to buy and I'm so happy I went with this one. It's super bright even during the day. Only downside is the fan can get a little loud after long use but it's not that noticeable. Picture has a great resolution. Its like a movie theater on my large wall. Would buy this again!

I spent a lot of time trying to figure out which projector to get, and this one perfectly fits my needs. Not super expensive compared to many other options. It's really easy to use and looks great. It works perfectly with the google ecosystem that I use all the time. It's not super bright but it's plenty bright enough and works well even if there is some light in the room. It's portable so that means some trade-off in lumens. Now that I have it I don't think I need it portable per se, but it's a convenient size, doesn't take up a lot of space. The picture is huge and the clarity is nice although I don't think it's 4K but 1080p is good enough. Love it!

The Halo+ gets a lot right. The picture quality is sharp, the brightness is impressive for a portable projector, and the built-in Google TV experience is smooth and responsive. Setup was quick, and overall it’s a great-looking projector. My biggest concern is the remote behavior while running on battery. Pressing the power button turns the projector off, but the remote won’t turn it back on. It becomes completely unresponsive, forcing me to walk over and use the physical power button on the projector. For a portable projector that’s meant to be convenient, this is a significant issue and not what I’d expect at this price point. If this is a software bug, I hope XGIMI addresses it with a firmware update because otherwise the projector has a lot to like.

Great little projector. Normally run it plugged in to avoid the dim lighting of the eco mode. Picture quality it great. Menu system is semi smooth. YouTube TV tends to be a little laggy at times. Running a fire stick on it for a smoother UI.

Great sound and picture quality. Connectivity to WiFi cause be better with wifi6. It was easy to setup but very slow startup with GTV. I find it better to just wait a little bit to let it boot completely. It can be a little too bright for my eyes so I have it in eco mode against the a wall with no projection screen. And the wall is painted a pale blue.

We were really excited to try out our new projector. We received it and had to wait a couple days to try it out. When we finally did, we unboxed it, plugged it in for about 2 hours, and tried to power it on. It 100% does not work out of the box. No light, no LED status light, no response whatsoever for the device. We are returning it for a refund of $544. I'd like Xgimi to help us out on this one. Such extreme disappointment.

That’s not a dealbreaker, but it’s one more thing to pack. Overall, I’d say the Halo+ is great for home use or maybe car camping where you don’t mind the size. It’s bright, easy to use, and the built-in battery is convenient. But if you’re looking for something truly lightweight and travel-friendly, this might not be the best pick. It’s more of a “stationary portable” than a true on-the-go projector. For couch potatoes like me who want a big-screen vibe without the hassle, it’s a winner—just don’t plan to backpack it across Europe.

This is surprisingly bright even outside in the afternoon. Works especially well in our movie room, especially with light blocking curtains. A casts a huge image on our wall. It travels well auto correct works pretty good even at an angle. We don’t need a sound bar, but that may be an upgrade later. This speaker does a good enough job for every day use. It’s a great value. It’s not tiny, as far as mobile projector go, but travels well enough.

The XGIMI Halo+ (New), as of time of writing, is their latest version of this product which is supposed to come with GoogleTV. Once it started up, it immediately showed AndroidTV which was a clear indicator that this was not GoogleTV as advertised.

I’m highly impressed with the XGIMI portable projector — it’s a perfect blend of performance, portability, and picture quality. The image is crisp, colors are vibrant, and the built-in speakers are surprisingly powerful for a compact device. Auto-focus and keystone correction work flawlessly, making setup super easy.
