A number of photo's were spoiled when part of the lens hood was visible in the pictures due to the hood unscrewing itself. It's not a tight fit.Other than the loose fit, the material it is made from seems to be close to the quality of the official one, a stiff plastic - not rubber, so it won't deform in the bag.The fit on the lens is not secure. I used a piece of paper wedged in the ring to keep it from moving but that's not ideal as I need to remove it each time to fit back in my camera bag.I can't be too critical of this lens hood as you really get what you pay for. It was much cheaper than the official Nikon one.If you want to put a small piece of tape to secure the lens hood that's one solution and will save you money on the official Nikon lens hood. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It's ok *by A***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 July 2020* I'm not sure this is actually metal. It looks like painted plastic to me and it feels pretty cheap.The real test of an item like this is whether it works. I don't think it's super effective for blocking flare, but any help is better than none.I actually find it more convenient to shoot without it, to be honest.
