Progressive International Progressive Dynamics PD4135KW2BV Inteli-Power 4100 Series Converter

This is a great, compact power center. The charger keeps our AGM battery charged up nicely, and the converter runs all our DC appliances perfectly. For those wondering, it will work without a battery, as that's how I used it for about a month until I could get a battery installed. For now we simply have a 15-amp "main" breaker, and have a second 15-amp breaker for the DC converter/charger, and a third 15-amp breaker that powers a few outlets in our RV. The breakers can be replaced with duplex breakers if you want, allowing you to get as many as 5 branch circuits. The DC side is also sufficient for our needs, with 2x 30-amp max circuits (though one is taken up by the charge circuit) and 4x 20-amp max circuits. If you have a simple electric setup, this should be fine. For complex setups, you may want to look at larger power centers with more capacity. Besides the small footprint, I also like the LED indicators of blown fuses, making it easier to see when there's an issue with an individual circuit. Overall, well worth the money, as it combines a fuse panel, circuit breaker panel, and charger into one, at the cost of the charger alone.

Was easy to swap out. Liked the low voltage LEDs circuit indicators, for each circuit. Easy to swap out blown fuzes. Quiet operation. My existing wiring caused me to struggle, as the camper's topper cut-off switch had loose spade connections. This caused me hours of frustration getting the top 12v parts(lights and ceiling power ports) of my camper to work consistantly. Was very quiet compared to my original power inverter that had constant noise. The front cover is made of light plastic and has popped off the units mount points once or twice. I did have to cut a larger opening to fit it in. The additional breakers needed with it were a trick to figure out. I ended up getting compact single gang double pole 15amps breakers, to use more power circuits.

I purchased this converter for my shuttle bus conversion. I originally had issues with it not providing 12v DC power, although the AC side was working perfectly. After multiple rounds of troubleshooting with Progressive Dynamics techs, it was determined that the board was bad. PD sent me a new board (under warranty). The defective board was easy to remove, and the replacement PD sent was easy to install. The new board works perfectly, and I now have full AC and DC power. Overall, a good product and worth the buy, especially considering PD is an American company, with US based sales, support, and techs.

Ok let’s start this review off by saying there installation instructions leave much to be desired as in my 14 year old son could have done better I believe.. But anyone with common sense and a few years of DIY behind them can figure it out like I did and the product works great better than the stock converter no issues with breakers or fuses took about a hour to cut and install the converter it’s self with the breakers now for the wiring on the 12 v side.. the first big red wire is your charging cable to your battery I capped it off since I don’t have a battery currently the second red wire is your 30 amp 12v wire the next 5 wires are your 12v 15 amp wires and the white wire is your ground wire this will supply power with out a battery just with land power. There are many YouTube videos on how to hook this up please use common sense one of them said to take your 12v Dc white wire and hook it with the 110v ac white wires don’t do this but bus bars and hook all the 12v white wires together and run the white wire from the converter to the bus. Other than crappy instructions wonderful unit will update if anything new occurs or failures occur.

Bought this for a Cargo trailer to RV conversion. I have an LiFEPO4 connected to it and this runs the 12v lights/accessories when not plugged into shore power. Have run this system on several generators and wall power with zero issues. The converter/inverter also charges the battery while plugged into shore. During some recent training, we charged multiple drone battery cases on this system. Easily reaching its amperage limits, it performed flawlessly. Even when the generator lugged down and revved back up the Power Center never missed a beat. I also spoke to Progressive Dynamics customer service twice and they were very knowledgeable about their product! I wanted to make sure this system would charge LiFEPO4 batteries at the higher voltage and their tech guy assured me that it would. But he also pointed me to THIS unit because the one I was calling about was an older u it and did not charge LiFEPO4 batts (which aren’t cheap)! Would buy again without question

Replaced a panel. Installed as easy as you would expect. The instructions were clear and the one question I asked of Progressive Dynamics was answered quickly. The panel has performed flawlessly since install and is much quieter than the old one.

This is a great product. RV, Popup, or repairing a travel trailer like me and it’s exactly what you need. You need to know a couple of things first. When I received my order, the wiring diagram didn’t show what breaker to install the DC converter wire to; however, I was able to find this information from the manufacturer website .pdf online. The power that supplies the DC converter should be installed on a 15amp breaker by itself. YOU ONLY HAVE (3) THREE breaker inserts. So plan carefully and make sure you will be able to supply power to your connections correctly. This is important because of the breakers you purchase. You might need TANDEM CIRCUIT BREAKERS(hint hint). The device accepts Square D HOM and there is a list of acceptable circuits you can install in the instructions. You’ll also need to purchase fuses for the DC circuits you intend to use. Remember if your uncomfortable with electricity call an electrician. It’s a quality product and I’m pleased with the purchase. Good luck!
