Phenomenal product
This is by far one of the best products we bought for our home. It is super easy to put together and has clear instructions. It is also very easy to use and clean. We do clean it after every use which is a little time consuming, but we have 4 inside pets. So no matter how much we vacuum, there’s always at least a little pet hair left over. That being said, I definitely recommend a good vacuum before use because I imagine it would get clogged with hair if there is a lot in the carpet at time of cleaning. However, we also have a shark pet vacuum and we’ve had no problems with the combo. The cleaning agents smell divine and leave the carpet feeling nice and smelling amazing. It’s a really fresh scent. It’s gotten several stains out of the carpet in our older home and has become something we reach for often to clean up messes due to ease to use. The hand held wand is really nice for pet messes and spills in carpet. We’ve even used it to clean spills out of the couch and clean stains out of plush toys for our child with great success. The cleaner has not left any residues or discoloration on anything we’ve used it on so far and we’ve used it a lot. I’ll admit that it is kind of heavy and my shoulder does get tired if we are using it on the largest room in our house, but I often just switch hands or tag my husband in when that happens. The other option would be to clean in sections. It is a carpet cleaner. So it takes about twice as long to use compared a regular vaccum, but it still doesn’t feel like it takes much time at all to clean a room. Overall, we are really happy with this device, and I am satisfied with the quality even for the expensive price tag. As a side note, it was also really easy to register this for the warranty with shark and they gave us a code for discounts on our first refill of cleaning solution in it as well. I was also able to sign up to receive regular updates about ordering new cleaner and sales on solution which is kind of a nice benefit. The customer service for shark has also been great when I’ve purchased other items through them.

Great product, terrible service
This is a great product, really. It feels like a quality build without being excessivly heavy or complicated. It simply works, and it works rather well! However the purchasing process was a pain, resulting me me losing a lot of trust in Shark/Ninja as a whole, and I was sort of invested in their environment. Pros: *No need to manually spray when not using the hose, the action of pushing and pulling automatically sprays and vacuums it up. *Uses a soap and an oxy clean product, in separate containers ad used at different rates. Mix the soap with the water (or dont if you are rinsing), but put the oxy container in it's own slot. *Uses minimal amount of water (seriously, very small tank and it doesn't last long, but you get a lot more clean than you would think and the waste water is straight up NASTY) *There are not a plethora of functions. At first this seems like a bad oversight, but really it greatly simplifies the process. You have Deep Clean (which could simply be called clean, but you know...marketing) and Dry. The Dry function uses no water and is GREAT to remove more water from the carpet for faster drying. *The low water requirement and Dry option can reduce carpet dry time drastically, mine was only damp for a few hours. *There are multiple latches, doors, and traps to catch the pet hair. These are surprisingly effective, and very well designed with the user in mind. With the push of a latch you can remove the front of the vacuum head, then flip open the spray nozzles tray and remove the brush. This leaves the entire brush head open for a wipe down and/or rinse, and the brush itself can be easily removed and cleaned. Then there is a trap that you can remove at the hinge joint of the brush head that directs the vacuum force from the head to the hose, this comes out and you can easily remove trapped hair and replace it with minimal effort. Then in the tank there is another trap for hair to build up on. It sounds like a lot but it is so easily managed that you will be happier at the longer lasting product as a result. *The choice of hose attachments is very helpful, with one of them designed for pet hair capturing the hair at the attachment in a tray. Like the rest of the device each attachment can be broken down easily and cleaned. *There is a clear label with barcode to order more of the cleaning supplies with a scan of your phone. After the warranty period you may decide to use your own, but their soaps work pretty decently. *There is a storage tray to prevent drips from ruining your floor when not in use. Cons: *Larger device, but this is expected. It is only larger than I like b/c we have limited living space. So this may not be a con to you. *The right side of the cleaning head has about 3 1/2 inches of non-cleaning space that is needed for the gearing. In most places simply turn around and use the other side. But for compact areas this can be a problem as the right 3 - 4 inches will not get cleaned. Experience: This is where I had a very bad time. I tried to order from their website. Loved the deal that they offered. Heck, I was even getting a steam mop and extra cleaning soaps for free! This on top of a sale. So I created an online account, verified the email address, and made a purchase. *Problem 1: They do not ship to PO boxes. This is normal, actually, so I put an alternate address so that I could receive the item. So I placed my order, and they took their money immediately. I was excited. Then I received an email stating that my order was cancelled. I called them 4 times before I was finally connected to someone so that I could learn WHY it was cancelled (the email did not provide a reason). *Problem 2: Apparently the system will not allow a PO box to be used even as a billing address. This is my legal address as mail cannot be sent to the physical location. *Problem 3: I use an obfuscated email. It works, and I verified my email (see above), but my REAL email address remains private. This is to reduce my online footprint and help prevent ID theft by being able to shut down problem addresses that have gotten sold. However Shark refused to accept this email, even though I was allowed to create an account with it, and proved that I can receive emails sent to the address provided. When I asked why this occured they used a bunch of corporate speak which amounted to: "We also make money by selling your information" which is exactly why I obfuscate my email. *Problem 4: Since I would not provide my actual email address, only one that works properly, I was informed that I may not get a refund. So they took almost $400, cancelled my order, and threatened not to return the money b/c I provided an email that functioned, verified that it functioned, and told them that I did not want my information sold. I wanted to BUY a product, I do not want to BE their product. However, three weeks later the charge did drop. So I looked for this on Amazon.com and I found it for about the same price as their model without all the extras that were included on their website. I make a purchase and discover that they will actually ship to my PO Box! . Problem 5: I received the unit without the hose, which is required for the system to work (even when not in use it plugs the hole so that the suction works). I contact Shark, they require me to register the warranty before they replace the part. It gets registered to the same, obfuscated email that I used previously when they cancelled my order. It is accepted, and I receive my part 2 weeks later. So now I have to wonder, why all the fuss when I order directly from Shark (giving them a higher profit margin) but not a single complaint or comment when I need to use it for the warranty? In sumary: I still love the Shark/Ninja products, but now I will never buy from them directly as the scheme that they have is manipulative and misleading. I never wanted to be an additional income to them by letting them sell my information, but they would not let me complete an order until I did. Shady!

A Must Have IF You Have Dogs or Cats
The Shark CarpetXpert Hair Pro Upright is by far the best on the market. We tried Bissell and several other cleaners and this product really has the suction and cleaning performance it promises. It is compact enough for easy storage, easy to use and the pee extractor attachment works great! Our 1 1/2 year old foster Husky had a few accidents that really saturated the area. The pea extractor worked its magic and a follow up with the rug cleaner left the area free of any urine or smell. For the price you you cannnot go wrong and it will give you comfort that you can clean up those accidents quickly.

Don't buy refurbished
I bought this Shark Carpet Expert HairPro, Refurbished, that was my mistake. It was shipped from the seller not Amazon and it was a nightmare, delivery date kept getting pushed back. When it finally arrived and I unboxed it I knew I needed to return it. When I tried to attach the hose it wouldn't snap it on its own, it had to be done manually. The part where the hose is to be attached had a little water dripping from it but I decided to use it anyway because I knew it was refurbished. The machine didn't stand up straight it leaned to the right a little. When I tried to clean the carpet in my bedroom I only got through half of the room because the machine stopped working. I tried to use the hose to clean a stain and it wouldn't switch over to the hose. When I tried to continue using the floor option that stopped working. At first it would put water and solution down and suck it right back up at the same time while in standing position but then when I tried to push it to clean it wouldn't do a thing. After a few minutes of that it stopped working altogether. I cleaned every part that should be cleaned, except the switch over valve, because it could not be pulled out to be cleaned. It felt as if it was glued in place. I returned it and and requested a full refund because it was still under the warranty with the company but they refused to and stated that because of the condition of the item and packaging they weren't gonna refund me the full amount and decided to send me a partial refund. This was ridiculous because they got it back the exact same way they sent it so they knew they were selling me a crappy machine, which is what I told them. Well after days of back and forth between me and the company and Amazom and the company, Amazon basically forced them to give me a full refund. Thank you Amazon!

Cleans well!
So far so good! My Hoover carpet cleaner randomly crapped out on me so this was the replacement. I ordered a used like new. No issues, all attachments accounted for! It definitely cleans better than the Hoover did. It even got some carpet stains that had been on the carpet for over a year that the old shampooer missed. It’s light, not any louder than any other carpet shampooer. It was easy to put together and use. My only complaint is when the dirty tank gets full of pet hair, it seems to mist/leak out the back of the machine, which is kind of gross. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase!

Great clean, Tiny tank
This carpet cleaner does the best job cleaning the carpet of any home carpet I have ever had. I have owned both Bissle and Hoover cleaners previously. I loved the stain striker feature and it did get some pet spots out of my carpet that I did not think would come out. The units suction is beyond compare. Also the dry only feature is great and my carpets did dry more quickly than they normally would. I have two long haired dogs and despite vacuuming before using the cleaner previously there would be clumps of wet dog fur left on the carpet for me to pick up as I cleaned. This cleaner does not do that and the wet fur is caught in the filter in the dirty water tank which is very nice. For me there are a couple of issues with the machine. First, the cleaner is placed directly into the water tank so it is dispersed onto the carpet but that means that you put cleaner onto the carpet and the soap residue stays in there and, as we all know, soap attracts dirt leading to have to clean the carpet more frequently. I ended up dividing my rooms into sections. First I cleaned with the soap in the water, then I rinsed the carpet using a tank of water only, and then I dried the carpet unsung the dry only cycle. The second issue with the Shark cleaner is that the tanks for both the clean and dirty water are TINY. I cleaner the carpets in the office, the master bedroom which is a good size, and our walk in closet. Our off ice is a normal dized room. With our previous cleaners I would have to fill the water tank once and dump the dirty water once also. While using the cleaner in the tank I had to fill and dump 5 times. I ever had to fill and dump in my closet. I lost track in the master bedroom. Sometimes if felt that all I was doing was filling and dumping the tanks. I know it would make the machine heavier to have bigger tanks but I’d rather have a heavier machine that let me clean for a longer time. I felt as if I was constantly starting and stopping. Even with the tank size issues I’m happy with my Shark carpet cleaner. It does a fantastic job of cleaning the carpets.

Got very stubborn, tough stains out on the first try
This Shark CarpetXpert HairPro StainStriker is absolutely worth the price. It pulled out stains that other cleaners I’ve used in the past couldn’t touch—and it did it on the first try. Between the pet hair pickup, stain and odor removal, and the different tools included, it’s been great on both carpet and upholstery. The self‑clean feature and storage tray are nice bonus touches that make it easy to use and store. Five stars for performance and value.

Works amazing!
This thing is awesome. If your home is like mine with dogs, cats, children sabotaging your carpets, rug, furniture you need it! The only down side is the dirty water tank fills up really fast which causes the vacuum to shut off but honestly it’s worth it. Also not at all as heavy as I personally thought it would be.
