Can you use on daily basis to prevent colds?

When used at the first signs of a cold, Vicks First Defence nasal spray has been clinically proven to help stop a cold in its tracks and not develop into a full-blown cold (it can also reduce symptom severity and duration). For how long is it effective? Also, roughly how many sprays in the 15ml bottle? I've got long haul flights coming up & want to be prepared.

You need to use it a few times a day - it says on the instructions. I sometimes actually use it more than specified if I'm in an enclosed space with a lot of sick people and feel I might be catching a cold.

Why does this have a short expiry date

I bought it 23rd May 2023, expiry date is October 2023. I will have used such a tiny bit by then I would be throwing away 80-90% of it. What a waste. I am returning it.

How long does it take to work? Ive been using 3 sprays 4 times per day for 24 hours and my cold feels the same. Stuck at the back of my nose/throat.

Depends on how quickly you catch the infection. If you catch it right at the very start before it takes hold and get a good night's sleep, you'll probably be pretty much fine by the morning but if you catch it later, it takes longer to work. Keep going with it - even if you've already got the infection, it will shorten it. I also find that squeezing fresh lemon juice down my throat before going to bed works really well in conjunction with the spray to prevent the cold from developing.
