This little alarm clock works great for my 11-year-old. It was easy for her to set up and she uses it for her daily school alarm. It's well made with good quality materials and bright enough to see any time of day. It looks cute in her room and I recommend it for the price.

If you're not super sensitive to light when you're trying to sleep like me, you have no idea how monumentally important it is to find an alarm clock that can dim down to near-nothing. Any stepped dimming I've ever come across completely fails to hit that sweet spot where it's just barely visible in the dark, but that tends to be the standard solution across the industry. It's hard to find alarm clocks with full stepless dimming. This is one of them, and it's a treasure. I'm not a fan of capacitive touch controls on devices like this, so the fact that this only has one is a nice feature. I've run across poorly calibrated ones before, and they used to wake me up in the middle of the night having lit up without any touch at all. I prefer not to activate something just because I'm fumbling around trying to grab my phone or something. The touch area on this item is gracefully not too large, so it's hard to accidentally hit and easier to feel around for if you do want to tap it. Limiting this to the light feature and snooze when an alarm is active makes it a perfect compromise. And the light itself is quite pleasant, giving off a mellow glow that fills the room. The rainbow feature is one of the prettiest implementations I've come across, too. I was pleasantly surprised by the buttons and dials on the back. It makes adjusting the time, alarms, volume and brightness quite painless! Critically, I'm even able to feel around the back for the brightness dial if I need to adjust it a little to suit my needs, or volume if I want to change it really quick. It's a simple but smart design. The alarm uses 2 AAA batteries for clock and settings backup. Unlike my previous clock, it doesn't continue full operation when it loses power. This prevents the batteries from draining too quickly. Depending on your needs, you may prefer one over the other - I definitely prefer this way.

This alarm clock is unique in appearance, adjustable to be read in any light level and with alarm sounds that will wake up the soundest sleeper. The advertising literature describes this clock pretty accurately. My only concern is that the controls are all on the back of the device and it is initially difficult to reprogram the light settings and alarm functions without picking up the clock and looking at the back. I value the simplicity of being able to program an alarm clock by feel without having to pick it up and look at it. But that is just my preference. I do like the number of sounds that can be programmed for the wakeup sound, the dual alarm capability, the adjustable audio volume, the adjustable light levels and readability. With practice my problems with setting the alarm have eased. The fabric cover is attractive and the overall shape and size is pleasing. I did notice a very small spot where the fabric cover is slightly separated where it tucks into the round light panel on top.

The main reason I got this was for the dimmable display. The clock sits by the bed, and who wants a glowing display all night. There's a rotary dial on the back to adjust the brightness, and keeping it very , very low works fine in the dark. Of course, then during the day if you need to see the time, you can't (at the dimmest), so either adjust it brighter, or look at your watch (or phone). The nightlight on top is probably useful for some, and is easily adjusted with tapping (I don't need a nightlight). Personally, I'd like to adjust the display brightness that way, but can't have everything. UPDATE after using for a while: In order to turn the alarm off after it wakes you up, you need to find the small button on the back and hold for 3 second. Easy-ish to do if you're looking at the back of the clock in light, but not so easy when it's dark and you don't want to wake up your sleeping partner. Especially since there are several tiny buttons on the back. The alarm on/off button should be larger, so you can feel it without studying the back, or on top. But then again, it has dual alarms, so even more difficult. We have given up on using the alar function, and have a separate basic alarm clock next to this one. Hence the 3 stars.

The clock has a front surface covered with fabric much like speakers. To appreciate: - 18 month warranty. You need email the info on the warranty card of the user manual to activate it. - The color is a pastel, very pretty. The nightlight colors are light to bright depending on what you pick. - The video is of the various alarm sounds at the highest volume setting. It does state in the manual to use the last setting of the siren if you are a deep sleepers. - It is easy to use. I would keep the manual in a safe place, however. - You can set two different alarms. - Numbers are easy to read. - The quality of the clock is great, no issues so far. Could use improvements: - It would be nice if it had the battery capacity to run without plugs. In this one, the battery only preserve your selected settings in case the plug gets removed, lights go out etc.
