You get what you pay for is definitely true when it comes to wood clamps of any style even though most brands are made in China like what seems to be almost everything else when it comes to tools, just about everything in general really. I own Irwin quick grip clamps like the style of this Jorgensen and I also own F style bar clamps of both brands. Trust me when I say Jorgensen clamps are worth the extra amount spent and it isn't even that much more than Irwin's if any at all depending on where you buy them. My Irwins have a bad tendency to slip when I clamp anything with them whether it's a table top I'm gluing or a lot of other things. Jorgensen clamps honestly don't have that same problem. I apply the same amount of pressure for both brands when clamping and don't over tighten them either. **Q: What country are these manufactured in?** A: It's made in China by using lastest technology and design, also keep the same quality control in material and production as made in USA, it's better than ever. **Q: What material is this product made of?** A: The bar is made of high-carbon, rust-resistant steel and the orange parts(sliding head and fixed head) are made of cast-iron. **Q: Can i use these clamps to stand a slab up to shave the sides?** A: Thank you for your question. The clamps can't stand, so it might be difficult to stand a slab by using these clamps. Our parallel clamps might work. product link below： https://www.amazon.com/Jorgensen-Cabinet-Master-24-inch-Parallel/dp/B0742BTGYP/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=parallel+clamps&m=A3P56LYOG94570&qid=1616724493&s=merchant-items&sr=1-1 If you have any other questions, please contact us via the link below: https://www.amazon.com/ss/help/contact/?_encoding=UTF8&marketplaceID=ATVPDKIKX0DER&ref_=v_sp_contact_seller&sellerID=A3P56LYOG94570 Or email us contact@greatstar-service.com.
